  1. Chris, you need to talk to someone asap. I not talking about psychiatric help, necessarily, just a crisis line where people understand what resources are available and help you think through it with a clear head. There is a crisis line for Marion county: 503-581-5535 or 800-560-5535. If they are not the right ones to handle helping you, I am sure they do know the right ones. You may have anxiety over making this call, but sometimes you just need to take a brave first step. There are people willing to help if you reach out.
  2. I guess it's not likely she would be lurking on AA, but I hear ya. It sound like the doctors haven't been able to solve her problems, so its not too likely you will either, but still keep thinking on it. It seems like the best shot is to work on your ability to cope. I am betting that throwing yourself into all the projects you do has been a good coping mechanism in the past, but maybe not enough right now? I can tell you one thing though, you are important to me for just that reason; my life is so hectic and my free time so limited that I live vicariously through all the projects you dig into. So thanks for posting all that stuff, sorry I dont give more feedback, but I am reading the blog posts as they come up. Don't think that what you do doesn't have a point, because it certainly does to me.
  3. Chris, I know you are probably kidding about hanging yourself, but joking about it can be the edge of a slippery slope. Either way, it sounds like you need to find someone to talk about this stuff, and I don't mean us knuckleheads on AA. Not that I mind listening, but you could definitely find someone better qualified to give advice on how to cope. Hang in there buddy.
  4. This is pretty damn cool Chris! I dont have an Action Max, but did pick up one of the VHS game tapes a while back. When I get some time I will read up on how the system works. The concept is reminding me about my idea of doing homebrew 8-tracks for the 2-XL. I was thinking someone could do a "choose your own adventure" thing on 2-XL. Doubt I will ever get around to it. I do admire how you use your spare time!!
  5. All would be new ones for me! PM incoming.
  6. Chris, I may be interested some of the spares you have. The attached pics show my two variations and what carts / boxes I have. The cardboard mailer box goes with the #3. All the carts have their manuals. Somewhere I also have some of the later Tiger versions.
  7. Got this from my secret santa and having some good fun with it! I love the variety of enemies. It's a hand cramper, though, when using painline controllers. Gonna try it next with a CX-40.
  8. Sounds like the Quiz Wiz fairy paid you a visit! I will have to check the ones I have to see what versions they are.
  9. Yay!! I finally got to open this sucker: Thanks so much to frankodragon, who was revealed to be my Secret Santa!!! I appreciate you you jumping in at the last minute so I could participate!!! I appreciate the message in the card and also Crazy Tank, which is my first 7800 home brew, which I will be playing tonight!! Santa knew that I loved B movies, and found a fantastic compilation of Sci-fi B movies. Most of the stuff I have is horror or fantasy, so all but 4-5 of the 50 included movies are new ones to me and will be playing as I game throughout the rest of my vacation. Lastly, an awesome selection of gummy candy! All were great choices, but it's the first time I had the Sunny D ones and they are the bomb! Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness, I will be getting a ton of entertainment our of your gift!!!!!
  10. Awesome seeing all these wonderful gifts posted!! Still trying to hold out for the 25th but might not make it!!!
  11. Hmmmm. I just did a search on AtariAge for posts that had both the words "Rev" and "traumatized" and was absolutely shocked to find out that this was the only instance. I would think these two words would be linked together in the local vernacular like pork and beans.
  12. Chris, from the first post it appears there are a few left, is this so?
  13. Thanks for doing this; looking forward to it and hoping those folks who are comfortable doing videos share them as well. I will give it a try as well.
  14. Just a quick note to thank those willing to ship internationally for this, allowing our far flung friends to participate!!!
  15. Quick update: All hell broke loose around here, so I just finished wrapping up my outgoing package and it will finally go out tomorrow. On the home front, my wife has hidden my package from me to make sure it makes it to Christmas.
  16. Thanks for posting these, RT! Freddy's was a wonderful place when I was a kid. It was great because my parents would do their grocery shopping there and I was free to peruse the well-stocked toy aisles and the electronics department that typically had video game demo units. It was really the best "one-stop shopping" store, at least here on the west coast. They are still pretty much the same today, its just that there are cheaper places to buy groceries and even if there weren't, my wife doesn't like me to run around on my own because of "stranger danger". (and I would buy stuff I don't need)
  17. Just a quick posts to say my package did arrive mid-week. I have everything for my outgoing package and putting it together tonight.
  18. Nice. Last week I made a big push to actually finish the game, but still crashed and burned in world 6 (of 7). After 27 years, I finally gave in and broke out the Game Genie. The last world is insanely difficult.
  19. Well, that's what I wound up with last year and it worked out ok. Although, we each gifted the same kind of gummy bears, but my counterpart gave me a much bigger bag, that I portioned out into a bunch of snack ziplocks. I just recently finished off the last portion.
  20. Doh! I missed out again! Starting earlier was a good idea, I just missed the posts somehow. Well, there's always next year!!!
  21. First one I remember getting was "Stupid is as stupid does:, which was perfect for the situation. I like the secret achievements more, because I never really try for them if they are revealed anyway.
  22. Got 'em all played and rated. My personal awards: Most replay value - Asteroid Chasers Most creative - Timeloop Graphical appeal - Titan Not a stinker in the bunch; I appreciate everyone's efforts to entertain us Lynx fans!
  23. I'm glad I stuck with it. Once I understood I was limited to working with the 3x3 grid centered on the last move, things got more fun. This will definitely go on the GD and be one I continue to go back to.
  24. Whoooo! Asteroid Chasers is not a simple pick up and play. And, once I figured it out, it is very tough. But the infrequent wins are very satisfying.
