Chuck D. Head replied to Mister VCS's topic in Intellivision High Score Club
Uh, oh! I think Mr VCS may be sick again. Should we pick a game to play, or would that be mutiny?? -

Ths day I stopped collecting Atari 2600 games...
Chuck D. Head replied to SpaceDice2010's topic in Atari 2600
Second that! I love all these systems and when I go to a thrift store or garage sale and there is a bargain on a game, chances are I have the system. And it doesn't take up that much space, yet...... Morgan -

Nice score Phaxda! The Pokemon Pinball w/ rumble was a blast, especially when it first came out. Qix is fun also. Morgan -
Convert Griffey The Dog From NTSC To PAL

Omega, nice of you to do that. Brandon, have you tried creating any games? Something themed around shooting fish in a barrel, maybe??? Morgan -
Just picked up a free Commodore 128
Chuck D. Head replied to Chuck D. Head's topic in Commodore 8-bit Computers
Nope, apparently it is the C64 version; it sez: Side A - Commodore 64 / 128 and Side B - Atari 800XL / 130XE which is kind of cool. Were there many cross platform titles that took advantage of the two sided discs this way?? Morgan -
Regarless of the likelyhood, I would say it's definitely worth a look-see, given the value of a (working)cart. Morgan

Just picked up a free Commodore 128

The 80 column adventures were by Infocom and include Hitch-Hiker's Guide, Leather Goddesses of Phobos and the C128-specific Trinity. After that, there's a handful of commercial titles that have a C128 specific version; Stratton, Last V8 (which has an extra level tacked on at the start and better samples), Rocky Horror Picture Show, Kikstart 2 (usually referred to as Kikstart 128 since there's another Kikstart 2 and it has since been modified to run on a stock C64), Ultima 5 (has music which there wasn't room for on the C64) Andrew Braybrook's C64 games from Alleykat onwards will detect a C128 at startup and use 2MHz mode in the upper and lower borders for some more CPU grind, usually meaning they'll add a few more objects or up the maximum scrolling speed. There's also a modded version of Elite that utilises the same feature. Good info; I will check my Last V8 disc. Hopefully it is the C128 version. I think that I will need to look for a proper monitor for this as the rf output doesnt look that great. Any tips for what to look for?? Morgan -
Damn, you are the cool kid in the school now. Lots of other potential projects for that bad boy!! Morgan

What kind of attitude is that, John?? Are you just going to give up? You need to think positive, get your fanny perpendicular and get out there and find those games!!! (just stay out of my Goodwills!) :D Morgan

High Score Club 8.12 - Variety Pack 2
Chuck D. Head replied to Ze_ro's topic in 2600 High Score Club
Ok, Time Pilot - 8,400 - really tough using arrow keys to fly. Some bad collision detection here. Pooyan - 790 - not sure I understand what the "bait" is yet. Bermuda Triangle - 12,500 - a little boring Fast Eddie - 6,650 - looks boring, but actually pretty fun Morgan -
Great Site!!! It's amazing how the first video game was among the sexiest ever built! Although, I had never seen Space Race before and I think I m in love I am a sucker for sparkly mettalic finish, my favorite color is green and the styling is awesome. I could see that machine in my eventual game room, with my 70's egg chair painted to match..... Morgan

Sounds like a deal to me! I think $5 before shipping would even be a good price. Morgan

[AQUARIUS] Mattel Aquarius owners - Roll call!
Chuck D. Head replied to Rev's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Sweet! Love that area, especially Issaquah. Gilman village and the little learning zoo at the top of the hill there are always "must see" stops anytime we go over the mountains. Nice, between the three of us we are like a bermuda triangle of underappreciated vintage computing. Morgan -
Just picked up a free Commodore 128
Chuck D. Head replied to Chuck D. Head's topic in Commodore 8-bit Computers
Its a regular 128. When my wife called me to ask if I wanted it, I was hoping it the metal case 128D, but I really like the look of the regular 128 (or I will when it is grey again). The sleek look kind of dissapears with a giant disc drive sitting next to it though. Like I said, it will be stored for awhile until there is room for it. I got quite the raised eyebrow when my wife came home and found the setup extending throughout the living room, behind the three systems setup on the floor in front of the TV. This is in addition to the little TV next to my chair that has the Aquarius hooked up to it. I knew I was on thin ice and packed it nicely away out of sight - for now. -
High Score Club 8.12 - Variety Pack 2
Chuck D. Head replied to Ze_ro's topic in 2600 High Score Club
OK, it looks like I will have to emulate for all these. The only cart I have is Time Pilot and I think it is a bitrot victim; I have cleaned what looked like a clean cart thoroughly and it does the same wierd stuff every time. Looks like a fun pack of games! Morgan -
Yeah, Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon are incredible time sucks. I was glad when my wife and daughter kind of forgot about them, so that I could play something in the living room. I checked in on my AC town recently; weeds everywhere, cockroaches in my house....I really should have bought some plywood from nook and boarded up my windows and marked the place condemned. As far as the Wii game I have spent the most time on, I had to think awhile and you will probably laugh...I think it would be ExciteBots. It looked so ridiculous, but my love of ExciteTruck forced me to play and it is fun as hell. The majority of the time spent with it though is because the online play is a blast, totally functional and no exploits to speak of to ruin the competition. Try it out - it is a cheap used title. Just picked up a free Commodore 128

I'll look into Retrobrite. There was also a mouse and the manual for GEOS, but I would have to go through the discs again to see if Geos discs were there. -
Just picked up a free Commodore 128
Chuck D. Head replied to Chuck D. Head's topic in Commodore 8-bit Computers
Wow, that is cool...and not easy to find it seems. Why is it that everything I get free makes me want to spend money? Morgan -
I was given a free Commodore 128 today. It is the all-in-one version and it came in a very nice box, but is very yellowed. It came with a 1541 floppy drive, and a crap-ton of discs. Lots of misc program and data discs, but there was some cool stuff. There were about 50 of the Loadstar software subscription discs and newsletters and a good stack of games, including: - Bards Tale II - Pole Position - Zaxxon - Master of the Lamps - Road Rally USA - The Last V8 - Dragonriders of Pern Everything seems to work good. Booted up in C64 mode and played a little Pole Position with the dinky little game controller. Due to space issues, I gonna have to pack this one away to play with after I get a new house / game room. Besides, my newly acquired Aquarius was looking pretty jealous earlier, so I need to put her mind at ease. Anyway, is there anything cool I should try next when I get time to mess with the c128? is it just me or is USPS getting stricter?
Chuck D. Head replied to caver's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I encourage anyone who is selling items that are truly Media Mail eligible to take advantage of it. I figure that every cent not being spent on shipping can be spent on the item. I sell enough duplicate items to see the pattern; if the shipping is $2.50, the bid is $7.50. When I sell the same book only offering priority for $5, the bid is around $5 (just a general example). My local POs dont seems to be looking at Media Mail very closely, but are hardcore into making sure you arent using Priority supplies for anything but. You will notice they have started printing "priority" all over the inside of the boxes. Another Media Mail tip; make sure you make the package reasonably easy to get into and reseal, so they dont damage anything during inspection or leave something exposed to damage for the rest of the trip. Never have had a problem with postage due; I have some weights to check my scale every once in a while. Morgan -
As an AqariNoob, I found this faq interesting; thought I would post the link in case anyone missed it. It answered my question about using a Tandy cassette deck cable; looks like you would have to modify it. Since I gave my extra one to someone who needed it, I will probably cobble together an adapter to go in line after the unmodified cable. Morgan

yeah, i was kidding. 5 to 10 is average i think. 20 or more boxed? Yeah, it takes a few months to become fluent in Revspeak; hang in there Morgan

PLEASE LOCK: the.golden.ax OLD collection thread
Chuck D. Head replied to the.golden.ax's topic in Show Us Your Collection!
Hey AX! Set up a camera on a tripod in a fixed location and take pics as you move in and make a stop motion movie out of it. A freind of mine did that as they were building their house from breaking ground to the family sitting on the couch and it was really cool. Morgan
