  1. OK, I know I have lost a few brain cells over the years, but I have been piecing the memories together and here is what I remember about the purchase of my rainbow Jr:

    - I bought it at Sears

    - It was $50 approx.

    - I believe it was 1985

    - It is a small rainbow Jr.

    - It came with a pair of Gemini dual-command controller, with Y-connector for the paddle games.

    - It came in an almost plain-white box, with a label on the front

    - It had a Coleco Mousetrap as a pack-in (with a not for resale label on bottom of cart)

    - I got to pick an additional free game with purchase from Sears (which was Tac-Scan, there were only a few options, another of which was Star Trek, also a Sega game, I believe)

Does this all sound right / familiar to anyone???? I was not too sure about any of this, I hadn't seen reference to the Coleco controller coming with an Atari branded system, but thought that was what I remembered. When I found the Mousetrap cartridge, more memories came back and the Coleco cart as a pack-in kind of confirmed it. I dont think the label showed the Gemini controllers, cause I remember opening the box and thinking WTF is this???

    Anyone???? Morgan

  2. I found my top loader for $17 at Goodwill. I held on to it like a fiend until I got it out to the truck, too.

Picked up two Wavebird receivers at the local thrift today. Now all's I need are two actual Wavebirds to use them with.

I am quite sure the recievers you found were the standard grey. I am equally sure the next Wavebirds you run across will be platinum. Life's like that. Does anyone know, were there any other colors made besides those two? Morgan

  3. People will only take so much shit. When microsoft/sony and other deveolopers cross the line, I think they will be sorry.

Well, At least they didn't force you to pay for your existing character...

    btw, what does IIRC mean?

IIRC, it means "If I Remember Correctly". Morgan

  4. Excellent, they are driving the bus straight to the cliff. There is going to be another crash and I will be there to scoop up all the abandoned hardware and games just like before. Bwahahahahahaaaa!!! It's all part of the plan, but I am going to have to sever ties with Gibson now that his cover is blown.

  5. Well, I have been struggling with crappy picture from my 2600 Jr for months. Tonight I pulled my head out of my butt and tried channel 2 instead of 3. What a difference, at least enough so I won't be think about a video mod for a while. Morgan

  6.

Last time I checked, logic boards are not created with lye and animal fat.

Don't you remember when Spock was endeavoring to create a mnemonic memory circuit using "stone knives and bear skins"? Well, there is bound to be some bear fat on the bottom side of a bear skin. Anyway, I ass-u-me what the poster was trying to say is that he regards Curt's potential product as a small, cottage industry, niche item that wont appeal to mass market and couldn't break even otherwise. I am not sure about the viability of this project (that we don't even know the details of), but I am betting that whoever would fund such a project isn't doing so to lose money. Morgan

  7. ...and there would be nothing to enhance your appreciation of the 2600 more fully, than to take a time machine back to 1980 and pick strawberries with me for a month (I sucked at picking berries, ok?) to get money for that 2600. I remember bringing my used Atari home with berry stains still on my hands. A used 2600 and about ten games; do you think I picked any more berries that year???? Morgan

  8. I will just list here. Stella for 2600 and 800win plus for 5200. Had problems with Jum52 but it's been too long to remeber what the issue was. Morgan

Curt, I added my answers to the poll. So you can disregard this. I will try Altirra tonight also.

    2 PS2 DDR pads for $1 ea

    PS2 Medal of Honor - Rising Sun - .25

    PS2 - Pac-Man World 2 - .25

Any crazy bastards out there collect Smurf stuff? An old lady at a garage sale was selling the most ridiculous Smurf collection you could imagine - hundreds of items for $200. Honestly, half a pickup load of stuff. Morgan

  11.

Still sad that there were no pictures. ;)

Time for grub! Can we get a wine recommendation from the snobs? Morgan

  12.

Doesn't this guy have any family or close friends to get him help? In a real-world non-forum way, this really is sad and unfortunate that this guy is going so long without any apparently any medical/psych attention.

The people who actually purchased items from him are obviously coo coo for coco puffs too. I wouldn't send him eighty hard earned dollars for him to buy more acid and never get my item.......

  13. I have a big CRT TV that is about eight years old and if there is an s-video cable plugged in, then the composite input is disabled. This is even if there is no signal or component hooked up. I wanted to leave the S-video plugged in as a dongle for sporadic use and it took me forever to figure out what was going on - unplugged it and, bam, the console plugged into the composite popped right up.
