I think I came up with a solution to get all my game systems going in the living room:
Don't hook any of them up, until needed. My plan is to run some AV cables (10 feet should be long enough) through the floor of my living room, behind the TV, under floor (through the basement along the "ceiling") and up again, under the centrally located coffee table. Mount a small metal plate (similar to something that would be used to mount auxilliary switches to the dashboard in a car) under the coffee table, and put some bulkhead-mount female to female RCA connectors.
This would give me an easy access panel to plug say, my Intellivision into, when I want to play it, and would also keep it in easy reach to access the controllers and the system itself.
Plans are to run
Composite Video (Yellow)
Audio L (Red)
Audio R (White)
VGA (My girlfriend plays WOW on the TV, looks amazing!)
a 1/4" stereo phono jack (for hooking the PC to the surround sound)
and an RF cable (for say, my 5200, Intellivision, Aquarius, etc).
Thoughts on all this?
Similar to what I have been thinking about. I want to make a coffee table, with a removable drawer that has direct access to the cables to the tv and stereo. The removable drawer would house a game system, accessories and a good number of games for the system. When I want to have a different system for the living room, I pull the drawer and replace with a different "system drawer" from the man-cave. I will have a way to play in the man-cave also, but I like options. All of this, of course, is dependent on getting a new house with space for said man-cave and a living room big enough to even have a coffee table. Morgan

It can be re-configured via software and the boot menu allows the start of different systems.
Today the system comes with the C64 and 100+ games.
We are working on the AMIGA and ATARI 2600 support right now.
You can see a live demonstration of the AMIGA and ATARI 2600 at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo.
Please come and see us.

I will see you there! Hey kids! Order your presale tickets to PRGE now, so you can get in and see this an hour early. Morgan

The info is very nebulous as to exactly what hardware is emulated, but it sure looks slick!!! A bit spendy for me, though. Morgan

Hasn't anybody considered the possibility that the forum is working fine, and we have all simply entered a bio-temporal quantum field that has suspended our aging?
Damn, that sure would be nice!!
..Al
Albert can't you just take down aging until we can adress the speed issues? (Albert can do anything) Morgan

Question: In the mobile skin version of the site, the new posts have different colored bullets next to them. Is there a legend somewhere for what the colors mean? Most are blue, but I also see red and green. Morgan

Still sad that there were no pictures.

You can go outside and look at bugs later Albert. Now finish your cereal!

Guys, you should move the Lost discussion into another thread.

Oops, you are correct, sorry. At least the thread degenerated into a more benign direction than the original subject matter.

Am I seriously the only one who doesn't watch Lost?
Well, I watched it all from the beginning; I tend to stick with things and with this I was waiting for the payoff. I really thought that all signs pointed to the story being on track to an interesting conclusion right up to the final episode where they dropped a big turd on me. One of the things that kept me in it was a few specific characters; Michael Emerson as Ben Linus was really great and a villain with some creepy depth. Josh Holloway as Sawyer, I loved too and I am waiting to see both of them show up in something that wont end up crapping on me. Morgan

Dang it, you'd think they would have mentioned 2600 compatibility. That's probably why I bought a Jr. at the time, I sure would have ponied up the difference for a 7800 if I had known back then. Morgan

It sends a minimal amount of information, so it's quite fast compared to the normal desktop skin. And it's geared for smaller devices and thus easier to navigate about with. Glad you like it.

Yes, my thinking when I saw the skin mentioned, was that it was what many websites plug as Apps, when they really are just skins with a launch icon. I never found anything in the app store, so I was surprised to hear there was a skin. I like it, but you will see some funny looking posts from me now as my iPhone typing leaves something to be desired.... Morgan

At the risk of sounding stupid; where might I find this mobile skin of which you speak? I wasn't aware this existed. Morgan
Never mind, I'm an idiot. Figured it out, I never tried to access the site from my phone, figuring it would just frustrate me. The skin works pretty good actually, it will make it easier to post the HSC pictures that I take with my phone anyway. Thanks, Morgan

Today I'm screwed, my left arm is still useless. With so much shakiness, it's a really bad idea to use power tools. I have high hopes that tomorrow may be better. If not, then there is always the next day. If not then, I know there will be another day that it's possible

If you can handle making 20 minutes of progress every day, it might help keep you sane as you deal with the health issue. It will be worth it eventually. Morgan

I've fixed the mobile skin so it works with the iPad. In fact, it will come up as the default right now, and you can then switch back to the "Desktop Version" with a link at the bottom of the page. I've also fixed a problem where you couldn't switch back to the mobile skin, which also afflicted the iPhone and other devices.
Here's the skin running on an iPad:
A new mobile skin is being developed that takes advantage of the iPad's larger screen size. It's pretty slick, and I will install it when I upgrade the forum in a few weeks.

I have fixed these calendar popups so they go as far back as 2001. Also updated the advanced Members search form as well, since it, too, was only going back "6" years. While I was in the code, I modified these popups so the year dropdown starts at 2001 and ends with the current year. Previously they were setup to show the current year and then six years in the past and future. I have no idea why you'd want to search beyond the current year.

Well, if I knew I was still an active member in 2016, then I would obviously be still alive. If not, then I would stop all voluntary contributions to my 401K and use the money for video games. So, it is relevant...... Morgan

Good thing the shipping took so long or you would have had 20 live bugs. Morgan

Just got my Atari set up and, fortunately, I have Phoenix. After a trial run I'm only at 12,330. I'll have to try those tips mentioned above.
Welcome! Glad you finally made it..... Morgan

For ranking purposes, ties are broken by a sort of "score percentile", which is only visible in the spreadsheet that I keep track of things.

Whatever, Walter! (100% JK)
Not to be a downer but wont these bonus points serve to put those at the top of the score card even more out of reach? Just a thought. It certainly rewards quantity of play over quality of play.I don't think he's planning on doing it every week. I like the bonuses this season; makes it more fun and that's the whole point..... Morgan

I remember taking a plane to go visit my sister back in 82.I took my games with me in one of those vinyl red velvet lined black carrying cases that held 12 of my fave games. The guy at the security gate opened the box and looked at me suspiciously even then!He asked me what they were, "they're what they are" i said, video games. He said okay, and let me pass through.I brought them on the plane with me of course. Can one still bring video game carts on a plane?, with all the security paranoia going on nowadays?, which is totally understandable.I haven't taken a plane in 20 years. It would be ideal and more convenient to just take like 20 or so of your favorite games and a 2600 jr. with you on the plane.
Not if I was in TSA brother! "Sir, you may take Combat and Surround in your carry-on, but terrorists have been known to use this here Chuckwagon game for nefarious purposes, so I'm gonna have to confiscate it...." Morgan

Good time at the Goodwill tonight!! My wife called and asked me to go pick up her prescription and after grumbling a bit, I remembered it was right next to Goodwill. Got a number of games, but most notably:
SNES - Secret of Mana - CIB $6.99
SNES - Starfox - CIB - $6.99
SNES - Super Metroid - perfect loose cartridge -$3.99
Secret of Mana I will be putting up for sale later this week. Super Metroid I will be playing the S*** out of starting now......Morganhttp://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_posts&my_posts=1&mid=26465

Well, considering it is called the "Insane" console history, I have no issue with the Pong, Computer, etc. system on there.
Who is nerd enough to sit through that whole video? The video...needs...MST3K...
There are very few videos in this world that would not benefit from a little help from Mike, Tom and Crow. Morgan

Oh man, because you guys can't control yourselves, I'm stuck with X the Owl and Henrietta Kitty for the interim. Meow Meow, Thanks a lot, Meow! Good call Albert and thanks for everything you do. Morgan

That Goof Off stuff he used in the video does work, but you have to be careful because it can damage plastics.
Be aware, there are two grades of Goof-off. the original Goof-off is very agressive and can be damaging to labels. Goof-off 2 is milder and more like Goo-gone. I also found there is a difference between the aerosol "Electonics Cleaner", and "Contact Cleaner", having tried to clean a potentiometer with contact cleaner and having it eat up a trace on a PCB. Later learned I should use "Tuner Cleaner" for a pot. Live and learn. Morgan

Maybe make the wood cart label look like:
A - a brass plaque with screws in the corner or....
B - carved wood - which would prolly look more piratey, but harder to pull off
