  1. Well, it is minty-fresh, but geez, it's maybe R4. I guess it's possible that a game could / should have a different rarity factor loose or in the box. For instance, the rarity of a Genesis game in a clamshell compared to a loose cartidge would be nearly the same, because the case was durable and nice to display. A cardboard box for a 2600 or NES game would get beat up and be discarded, making the box rarer. I don't know, but to be honest, I have seen loads of Deadly Duck carts and I had never seen this box before. Morgan
  2. I agree. The general character you made were well thought out and look nice, but something about bringing specific characters in from other games appeals to me more. It would be kind of like giving a Smash Brothers treatment to the Atari universe. Morgan
  3. OK, I know I have lost a few brain cells over the years, but I have been piecing the memories together and here is what I remember about the purchase of my rainbow Jr: - I bought it at Sears - It was $50 approx. - I believe it was 1985 - It is a small rainbow Jr. - It came with a pair of Gemini dual-command controller, with Y-connector for the paddle games. - It came in an almost plain-white box, with a label on the front - It had a Coleco Mousetrap as a pack-in (with a not for resale label on bottom of cart) - I got to pick an additional free game with purchase from Sears (which was Tac-Scan, there were only a few options, another of which was Star Trek, also a Sega game, I believe) Does this all sound right / familiar to anyone???? I was not too sure about any of this, I hadn't seen reference to the Coleco controller coming with an Atari branded system, but thought that was what I remembered. When I found the Mousetrap cartridge, more memories came back and the Coleco cart as a pack-in kind of confirmed it. I dont think the label showed the Gemini controllers, cause I remember opening the box and thinking WTF is this??? Anyone???? Morgan
  4. I am quite sure the recievers you found were the standard grey. I am equally sure the next Wavebirds you run across will be platinum. Life's like that. Does anyone know, were there any other colors made besides those two? Morgan
  5. IIRC, it means "If I Remember Correctly". Morgan
  6. Getting ready for this; making my want lists and packing up my extras to trade. Who all is planning on being there??? Morgan
  7. Excellent, they are driving the bus straight to the cliff. There is going to be another crash and I will be there to scoop up all the abandoned hardware and games just like before. Bwahahahahahaaaa!!! It's all part of the plan, but I am going to have to sever ties with Gibson now that his cover is blown.
  8. Those homebrews better come with a happy ending, a bottle of VSOP Hennesy, a couple big-ass cigars, and a night's rental of a limo with a 2600 set up by the hot tub.
  9. Well, I have been struggling with crappy picture from my 2600 Jr for months. Tonight I pulled my head out of my butt and tried channel 2 instead of 3. What a difference, at least enough so I won't be think about a video mod for a while. Morgan
  10. OK, not a lot of time this week, so 19,280 from this "participant" will have to do....Morgan
  11. Someday, when I get time (ya right), this is what I want to do with my '84 Scamp GT. Keeping my eyes out fo r a donor car. Morgan
  12. I highly reccommend Chunkout 2600, which is now in the AA store. A very addicting puzzler. Morgan
  13. Don't you remember when Spock was endeavoring to create a mnemonic memory circuit using "stone knives and bear skins"? Well, there is bound to be some bear fat on the bottom side of a bear skin. Anyway, I ass-u-me what the poster was trying to say is that he regards Curt's potential product as a small, cottage industry, niche item that wont appeal to mass market and couldn't break even otherwise. I am not sure about the viability of this project (that we don't even know the details of), but I am betting that whoever would fund such a project isn't doing so to lose money. Morgan
  14. ...and there would be nothing to enhance your appreciation of the 2600 more fully, than to take a time machine back to 1980 and pick strawberries with me for a month (I sucked at picking berries, ok?) to get money for that 2600. I remember bringing my used Atari home with berry stains still on my hands. A used 2600 and about ten games; do you think I picked any more berries that year???? Morgan
  15. I voted for ST, but this is based on the retro aesthetics and the 10-key pad; I really am ignorant of the signifigance of the machines relative to one another. I loooove the look of the dedicated F-keys on the ST. Morgan
  16. I will just list here. Stella for 2600 and 800win plus for 5200. Had problems with Jum52 but it's been too long to remeber what the issue was. Morgan Curt, I added my answers to the poll. So you can disregard this. I will try Altirra tonight also.
  17. Curt, Can you edit the poll to add - "don't know" or "havent used one"? I have no experience / knowledge of ST emulators. Morgan
  18. Cool. Simple and elegant. I love how you can remove some dividers and display a cart face-out. Did you do the grooves on a radial-arm saw? It would be easy to use the same design and adapt it to any type of cart; nice work? Morgan
  19. Well, I honestly don't know what all games actually make use of it, but the Wii has keyboard support through usb. A wireless Microsoft keyboard works just dandy for the wife to write letters in Animal Crossing, but I know of no other use for it. Morgan
  20. I need to start putting away some extra $$$ for PRGE (Sept 17,18). All prices include shipping; take off $1 for each game after the first one. SNES - Secret of Mana - CIB-ish - $42 - Cart is very nice cond and tested to save, includes Squaresoft dust cover, map/poster, manual (some crease at edges), ad inserts, everything but cardboard tray. 21. Seems it's not the kitties who need to stop using the Goof Off. For reference, the original Goof-off would work better for huffing than Goof-off 2. Morgan
  22. A few garage sales, found the following: 2 PS2 DDR pads for $1 ea PS2 Medal of Honor - Rising Sun - .25 PS2 - Pac-Man World 2 - .25 and just in case any thieves are thinking of breaking in and stealing my video games; A box of ammo for the .30-.30 - $3 Any crazy bastards out there collect Smurf stuff? An old lady at a garage sale was selling the most ridiculous Smurf collection you could imagine - hundreds of items for $200. Honestly, half a pickup load of stuff. Morgan
  23. You can go outside and look at bugs later Albert. Now finish your cereal! Ok, that was funny. Time for grub! Can we get a wine recommendation from the snobs? Morgan
  24. The people who actually purchased items from him are obviously coo coo for coco puffs too. I wouldn't send him eighty hard earned dollars for him to buy more acid and never get my item.......
