  1. Oh man, because you guys can't control yourselves, I'm stuck with X the Owl and Henrietta Kitty for the interim. Meow Meow, Thanks a lot, Meow! Good call Albert and thanks for everything you do. Morgan
  2. Be aware, there are two grades of Goof-off. the original Goof-off is very agressive and can be damaging to labels. Goof-off 2 is milder and more like Goo-gone. I also found there is a difference between the aerosol "Electonics Cleaner", and "Contact Cleaner", having tried to clean a potentiometer with contact cleaner and having it eat up a trace on a PCB. Later learned I should use "Tuner Cleaner" for a pot. Live and learn. Morgan
  3. Thanks for the links; there is a metric crap-ton of info there. Even if it is a little hard to view, it will help me a lot with my plug and play collecting. Morgan
  4. Hmmmm....if you could play Pac-man in emulation and get to that point and save then you could practice playing through the garbled screen over and over, but I am sure the timing would be different, even if the pattern is the same. I'm sure it could be done with an insane level of committment. Morgan
  5. Bwwaaahahhhahahaha! I guess I had never seen the X-Man box either...look at him protecting his junk as he runs away from the chomping teeth!!! Morgan
  6. Granted, I don't get out much, but I had never seen the clamshell cases for the ITT games - very forward thinking, were they later releases around the time Disney was using the white clamshells for VHS? Morgan
  7. See the post above yours; you have to have the "Y" connector and then the fire buttons work correctly. I played hours and hours of Tac-scan like this, no problem. Morgan
  8. And I think this may be a lot of what people are responding to with skepticism. Most folks here would probably be like me (an attention whore) and post pics bragging as soon as they got this item. However some people don't think like me, thank god. Morgan
  9. I admit it all sounds kind of funny, but holy crap guys, if there has not a problem with Topdog previously, wouldn't you feel like kind of a douche if you found out you were wrong??? If we take what he says at face value, he sold off Craigslist for too low a price and feels like an idiot. His later posts made it sound this way. If this was me and I messed up and lost that much on a deal, I would be sick to my stomach and probably would avoid even looking at this thread. So he may not even know what is being said now to respond. It is entirely possible that he realized he screwed up right away and feigned a sale in order to pull the items back and not lose $$$. I can understand a knee-jerk reaction like that; but still hope it wasn't the case. Hopefully he will be able to vindicate himself; not that he should have to, but at this point I think it would be the best thing to adress it and hopefully keep emotions in check. Morgan
  10. Is that a one player game HB?? Which reminds me; the girl at the center of the maze in X-man looks rather like a horse in some positions................ OH man, I just realized that NE146 will probably post to this thread now, and I will have to see his throbbing avatar. Morgan
  11. Thanks Chuck! It's getting close, guess I better get my presale tickets so I can get in early!!! Morgan
  12. The higher percentage alcohol it is, the better it works and the harder it is on the labels, so be careful. Morgan
  13. Or "Bleep You" to use Atari style sound FX. Or maybe "HSWWSH You" if Howard wouldn't be offended.... Morgan
  14. Looks like it's been replaced with a nice Christopher Hitchens Free Speech lecture Joe, I love you, but I'm not sure what it really has to do with free speech. I think the OP just had a caveat; don't go there if you don't want to see the f-bomb. He didn't say it should be taken down. Free speech is your right to say it (though there are limitations; i.e. I am in Albert's house right now, so I don't want to disrespect him) it doesn't mean anyone will like it. But, if it is your domain, it's your rules and you can f-bomb away. Morgan
  15. No, YOU got lucky. I paid about the same amount for Atari 2600 Defender in 1982 or so. Soooo disappointing. Morgan That's worth more than my 29.87 given inflation. But you don't have a receipt to prove it. Well, my point was that for the same $30-ish, you got a much better version of Defender. Morgan
  16. No, YOU got lucky. I paid about the same amount for Atari 2600 Defender in 1982 or so. Soooo disappointing. Morgan
  17. Bump so it shows as new so I remember to look when I get home. Wish there was a "mark as unread" option on here. Morgan
  18. Ummm, you forgot the +1, but I fixed it. Morgan
  19. Yeah, lately I have a fascination with things Tandy / Radio Shack and Sears; places I remember hanging out and gawking at things I couldn't have as a kid. Morgan
  20. And by the way, someone at this particular Goodwill has a grip on reality. Most games are 1.99 to 2.99 and sports games are almost always.69 or .99. All they had this trip was a stack of SNES sports games at .69.
  21. On my way to a kick-ass Weird Al concert last night, I stopped at my favorite off-the-beaten-path Goodwill and spent $7 total for the following: Enterprex Apollo 2001 - I know pong clones are a dime a dozen, but this is my first one, so I dig it. Very nice condition and complete in box - warranty card, manual, packing and all for $2.99 A Tandy version of Mattel LED football that I had not seen before - blue case - $1.99 A plastic bag filled with about half a quart of assorted shiny chrome ball bearings - $1.99 (why did I buy that?) Not too bad but not as good as usual at that store. Morgan
  22. An interesting thought; if someone were to actually pony up the $$$$$ to commission a set of molds, should it be an exact dupe of the classic 2600 shell or maybe something with a whole new look that would differentiate the homebrew releases or maybe just for AA? Just talking hypothetically, cause I have no $$$$$ to spare. Morgan
  23. Great. Go for it. I just picked up a cheap Didj. It feels well built and the games I found were not too bad. Morgan
  24. And you thought bats and spiders were bad; this thing's already killed fifty of my men!!
  25. Oh, I see, you are one of those zylons. Taunt me no more with your Sears-box. Morgan
