people seem to use the PSP for everything but retail releases. it's heavily pirated and it can be used for emulators/etc. software sales are terrible compared with other systems but yet the system sells well. Sony can't wait to get rid of the system. The hardware makes some money but not nearly what software makes.
Software sales are terrible due to the fact that most of the official licensed software for it is absolute crap, horrid controls, massive bugs and glitches. People bought the hardware not knowing that the software was and is absolute crap. The reason why people hacked the PSP was homebrew and to unlock the full capabilities of the system to make it useful. like with any system, piracy will follow suit but i can not say it was a heavily pirated system, its about the same as any other system. Any hardware manufacturer know that they will take a hit on hardware sales but make up for that in software sales, but if said software is crap then yeah they will not make as much money if at all, and will do anything to ditch the system.

Now thats something i never thought of doing. Luckily enough for me i havent ran into a sticker (or a metal ID badge) on a case logoIf there is any sort of stickiness or pliability left on the glue - I've used some baby powder and simple rubbing.
-
Notice that the IIc logo was gone before retrobrighting. It came off when I used orange goo-gone to remove the sticker residue that was on it.Ouch, Yeah I also learned my lesson of using goo gone to remove sticker residue on certain materials, If its a paper sticker I would use a wet cloth to dab and lay on the sticker and eventually rub it off with my fingers and finish removing the residue with a dry towel(takes some elbow grease), The metal IDschool tags are a PITA at first, usually they will peel off but leaving the glue/adhesive behind. I have seen some use a form of hot glue, sometimes it can be peeled off with a bit of work. some use the same kind of adhesive as tape and can be just as much a PITA to remove if not more.
I will never use goo gone on any sort of project like this again. lesson learned.
I have heard good things about Micara Graffiti remover in removing the sticker residue and even marker pen marks (it will remove paint), but i fear from using it from my past experience with such stuff as goo gone.

Sorry about the dbl post, I never use Hydrogen Peroxide that's over 10%, stronger is not better in this case.
If you look at the Problems and Pitfalls section at #3 label fade http://retr0bright.w...ms+and+Pitfalls, long periods of treatment can cause label fade, constantly check and reapply if needed. the following link should also be looked over http://www.classic-computers.org.nz/blog/2009-03-22-deyellowing-paste-trial-on-c64.htm

When retrobrighting //c's and iigs'es is it common to damage the printed logo?
That would depend on how strong the mix is, If the Hydrogen Peroxide percentage is too strong or you have too much of it in the mix then it will over brighten and streak (bloom) the case and will have a bleaching effect on the printed logo (also damage the plastic). This is the reason I use a lower strength Hydrogen Peroxide in my mix, Yeah it takes longer to obtain the desired effect and you might have to re-coat it but its far better to do it this way. Being that the printed logo is light already it makes it that much more harder to keep from having a bleaching effect on it.
its a trade off, you mix it to where the Hydrogen Peroxide is strong the less time it takes to get the desired effect, but the more chance you will have on bleaching the printed logo and over brighten and streak the case, You use a weaker Hydrogen Peroxide or less of a stronger Hydrogen Peroxide in the mix and the longer it takes to get the desired effect but the less of a chance you will have of over brighten and streak and bleaching the printed logo.
If you leave it on the case for too long it will also lead into the same thing. If you do not put on even coats it will also lead to streaking. If you allow it to dry in spots you will run into spots that is more yellow then others.

I suspect that his wife has made some pretty poor choices with her life, and I feel that it's fair to remind her of that.
Her or their kids life choices has nothing to do with this issue and should be left alone regardless. her or their kid isn't the one that caused all this in the first place.
Ruining a mans career does not mean its ok to ruin the mans family. I am all for ruining his career, but dead set against dragging his family into this, its morally wrong on every level.
It wouldn't really surprise me if I heard that some of the more extreme comments/threats were made by himself under alternate accounts
Maybe he did do a few, but there are people that would harm him and his entire family if they had the chance. There is a lot of people out in the world that have flaws in their logic, OMG he was rude to a few people, kill him his wife and his child, Its downright wrong and everyone that has any sort of sanity knows. Ruining a mans career is one thing, but putting the blame on his family for this is wrong.
You obviously haven't looked at some of the comments on his youtube videos, there are plenty of people threatening harm to his family, and these users accounts are legit (if these people said this on youtube, you can bet they did it in email as well). I received a backlash from quite a few people in my reply to leave his family out of this, these people are deranged, These people are far worse then what This man is.
-
I know so because I am in a few arguments with a few people from a reply i made on youtube (to not drag his family into this) to a few hoping harm to his kid and his family. If someone is doing this on youtube you can bet that they have done this in email. And these people see it as a decloration of war against gamers.Has his family recieved such things? Other than a line in his email apology (That spent half the time trying to shift the blame to the poor guy that emailed him with a fair question) that said his family was being dragged into it, I saw nothing that would indicate such a thing at that link.
I wouldn't worry about it. It's very likely it isn't even the case.

I beleve its only offically available as you buy the ingredients you mix. There are people selling kits, but they are not endorsed by Retrobright.By the way is retrobright available as a pre-made mix or a kit?as taken from Retrobrights web site
It has come to our attention that some individuals are offering for sale "kits" similar to some of the Retr0bright recipes on auction and other sites. Please be aware that these are not endorsed by this Wiki in any way and the Wiki organisers shall not be held liable for any loss or injury caused by the use of these "kits".
Hydrogen Peroxide is classified as a hazardous substance and, as such, is not accepted by many postal services and couriers without declarations and special handling procedures. It also has other uses besides hair bleaching and Retr0bright, so we strongly advise caution on where and how much of this you buy.
This site's founders and authors do not sell Retr0bright for these very reasons and do not endorse or recommend any resale of premixed Retr0bright. If you see it for sale, it is not with our blessing or consent and we strongly advise caution: if you order some for delivery and it leaks in transit, you and the supplier could have some interesting questions asked of you.
We are also aware of something similar to Retr0bright being sold on eBay, with the seller using a picture taken from this Wiki. This is nothing to do with any of us, and we encourage you to ask the seller if they are complying with the Creative Commons License for the picture as we believe that consent has not been granted for this use, but, more importantly, also whether they are fully declaring the contents of their packages to their courier and are following best practice on shipping hazardous goods.

It seems like there is a lot of input lag.

I think this thing has blown too far out of hand when his family starts receving flack and threats. Some people just cant draw a line.
Yeah i am glad the prick is getting what he deserves, but it does not need to include his family.
Its just sad to see it spiral this far out of control.

Certainly the SCSI cards aren't that rare. Or are you being sarcastic? I know they're desirable and practical..
I did not know of the 3rd link, that'll be nice to read.
No, I'm not being sarcastic. they seem to fetch quite the price on ebay now days (depending on what model or brand), that is when they do apear.
5 things i am looking for
Zipgs or Transwarpgs
Ram card (going to get a 4mb card or that high priced 8mb card).
CFFA3000 (if there is another run),

Many libraries carry video games now (like mine) and the checkout statistics are fantastic. Just saying. We have Xbox 360, Playstation 2 &3 and Wii games./LoveBeingALibrarian
I think he missed that little factoid in my post, because mine does the same. and almost all of it was donated to them, they didnt buy them new, they didnt buy them used.
-
Quick question: Will a mockingbaord work in a IIgs? I have mine in one of the slots, but I haven't tested it yet. I heard the Ultima's had to be patched for it to work on the IIgs, but I'm not sure about other games.I beleve so. It should work, seeing how the IIgs will work with just about any other 8bit apple hardware/software.
-
I trimmed your post to the most relevant parts that I'm replying in regards to. I simply don't understand your logic here. One is okay because it's non profit?Just to add to your post
The whole reason a library is non profit is because of government funding and donations. if it wasnt for that they would probably charge a fee to check out anything. They could not remain in operation if it wasnt for the above.

I didn't read the whole thread, so I'm just responding to the OP. The way I see it, used video games are no better than piracy. You can pay $55 for a used game at Gamestop, or you can download the game from some torrent site. Either way, the developer and publisher see nothing out of it. Wen you go to Gamestop to buy a game, they pressure you to buy used instead of new. You think that doesn't piss off publishers? I feel comfortable saying that most people who pirate games wouldn't have bought the game if piracy wasn't an option. I can't say the same about used game sales. I think that publishers see that as more of a threat than illegal downloads. The ubiquity of Gamestop is bad enough, but now Best Buy, Walmart, Overstock.com, and Amazon are getting in on the used game market. Then you have GameFly, who rents games and then sells the used copies, so that's like a double-whammy against publishers. There's always eBay and Craigslist, too. Companies enabling gamers to not buy new games (and therefore not give the devs/pubs ANY money) are much more of a problem than piracy ever was.
Why should the publishers and developers see a dime of used game sales, they do not offer the service for anyone to buy a used game, The game stores do and thats who should be getting all the money for used game sales. Plus if that game is used then it has already served its purpose. The Publishers and developers get their money as soon as the store makes a order for the game to put on their shelves. The used game market is not hurting new game sales one bit.
In no way shape or form is used game sales the same as piracy. Hell even piracy isnt as bad as what they make it out to be. If they wasnt making money they would have been under a long time ago, and they are no where close to it. Its the econmey thats causing more of a negitive impact to them then what used game sales and piracy is combind. Just about any corperation or company will not say that the econmy is the fault of slow sales or low earnings, They try to make up excuses to avoid the real fact.
Hell even the rential places pay for the game to be on the shelves or in their warehouse to be sent out, the publishers and developors dont offer this service either, why should they see a dime of it, Its not effecting them as much as they want you to beleve. again the publisher/developer sees the money when the service orders their product to stock.
These companies want you to think they are not making a profit due to the above reason. Thats a down right lie. They want to make more money any way they can, and they will use any damn excuse they want to justify their motives.

Your standard IIgs computers, 2 of them. Ready for the dump.

There are quite a few bug and glitch videos on youtube. Some of them are rather funny to watch.

I personally think that they should have just done the same thing they did with KoToR but added multiplayer modes to it (like Co op, PvP, other). I Liked SWG a lot more. I have played the beta of Tor on my friends account when i was visiting and i wasn't really that thrilled with it. I would have liked it much more if they made KoToR III and not a MMO. Yes ToR looks good, but that's isn't everything when it concerns a MMO, its what you can do in it which makes it good or not.
Being that the official SWG servers are no longer operating i play SWG using alternate methods.

No, my first computer was a C64 (given to me by my friend), but i do own a calc that's basically a computer, a TI-84+SE (found it in the trash, but works has a screwed up screen). I do own a TI-1200 but its not a programmable calc. I have always been interested in hand held computers, regardless if they was a programmable calc or a full out computer.

I absolutely loved SoM, in my eyes that and Chrono Trigger (as stated by HuckleCat) was probably the best JRPG's i have played on the SNES. I would still have it today if it and other games and my system wasn't stolen. Just thinking about it chaps my hide.

This is why I will never put my credit card info on any of my systems. They should do away with using this option as a payment method and only use those gold or points cards. That is how i did it and always will do it. I never did care for their forced renewal policy and that is why i never used a CC for gold renewal or to buy DLC.
They can change it, its just that they don't want to.
The only thing i think you have to use a CC for is the on demand games. hell they can switch that to the MS point system as well.

A question about new xbox hard drive and memory cards?
in Microsoft Xbox 360
Posted · Edited by madmax2069
Doesnt the memory card use a form of USB with a proprietary connection. Wouldn't there be a way to use a standard USB cable and find out the pins on the memory card and make a adapter of sorts and plug it in to the 360s USB port.
