  1. I asked that question earlier. If not in this thread, another recent one, maybe the PS+ thread I started? Anyways, what I asked was does the PS+ content stop working when you can't log into the servers? I was told it works fine, but I think the person wasn't entirely sure. Can you confirm it does or doesn't? In any case I hope they extend any PS+ members membership by at least a month regardless how long the outage lasts. Especially for new users, not having access to that content to download and services like cloud saves you just paid for would suck. I don't see them doing anything else but tacking on a month or two, do you? Who knows, time will tell. Ah good to know the money is being put towards something other than a new PC or something. Dude really did need some rapping lessons though. I can't confirm because i do not subscribe to PSN+, i just brought up PSN+ because you know that those people that are paying are hoping that PSN does come back sometime soon, and that they will not get screwed out of the time it was down. One would hope that SONY does reimburse the PSN+ subscribers for the time it was down at least. if they do not (that will be both wrong and bad PR for SONY) that is the only way or reason that i can see of a lawsuit.
  2. For what, a free network not being available? Doubt it, and like you said there is pages of text you have to "agree" to before activating a credit card, you can bet Sony has their ass covered. Can't imagine any lawsuits sticking. Maybe if you were paying for the network you could file a lawsuit, although had Sony charged a fee for the use of the network and had the cash to support, maintain, monitor and upgrade it. Probably wouldn't be in this mess. The PSN had been a failed model from the start if you ask me. It was doomed to fail. Wanna bet you'll pay a monthly fee for the PSN when the PS4 hits? Although, these big companies aren't exactly known for learning from their mistakes so maybe not. My guess is, if anything, they'll kick everyone a free $5-$10 Sony Store title. What about all of the PSN plus users ? i didn't know that PSN plus was free.
  3. Most people on AA don't defend these jack-asses. I can understand an old school gamer, their minds are set in the past when we weren't all networked together and you couldn't do something like this from the comforts of your home. They still think people should be able to do whatever they want with their equipment. They defend these people because they are stuck in the past they just see it as tinkering, be curious to see what they think of this BS, tinkering is exactly why this happened. The rest of the folks defending this shit they just defend it because they don't want their easy freebies to go away. In the end, even if you are someone who only "tinkers", know you're in the extreme minority, most hackers are nothing more than pirate scumbags who want to play the latest games for free and rip people off. Pure and simple. Defending them at all, for whatever weak reasons you can produce, or enabling them to get to this point is just lame. have seen a documentary called Hackers Wanted ? if you have not i think you should watch it. but granted whats going on with PSN is just wrong. these forms of hackers are a burden, although they do help with security after they break it.
  4. Just about all of my games that I own that use steam are on disk (the orange box, CS:S), the only ones that i own that are not on physical media are the mods (Gmod, ZP:S and so on). but yeah steam is a great service, only issues i run into is dealing with a sometimes buggy steam UI.
  5. It probably means that Nintendo will try to have more open relations with third-party companies that have become friendlier with Microsoft and Sony over the past decade. That's my guess anyway. I think the biggest thing they need to do is set some bleeping standards for their consoles. They shouldn't be handing out licenses like candy to every bargain basement developer out there. The ds and wii libraries are undeniably 95% garbage. Other systems have some bad games but holy s***, there's a lot of pure crap on the ds/wii. They can't just sit back and release a mario here and there while their console becomes a shovelware filled laughingstock. Yeah the amount of crap games (should i say low budget games/game devs) for the Wii and DS can make up for just about the entire library of 360 or PS3 games. I do hope that they try and solve that issue.
  6. and this is exactly why the PSP go failed. and this is why SONY is going to use dual formats (DD and physical media) with the NGP. I think the PSP go's failure was/is sort of a wake up call to those that want to do DD only with any device. and the fact that PSN is down how are owners of the PSP go going to download content ? this should only serve to wake people up and really look at the downfalls of DD, what happens once that service is no longer around and you somehow lost all of your data ? this is why i am against any single centralized service such as PSN and or Live for online gaming and or content distribution. I see these as long term failures but companies don't look at long term. and don't get me started on cloud, because i see that as a failure as well. I only hope that Nintendo stays away from being DD only. once gaming consoles become DD only is the day i will give up them.
  7. You mean something like this http://tinyurl.com/4x26o8u the Limited edition Woz IIgs is not really all that limited nor is it rare. This guy does not list anything about the system he is selling. heck it doesn't even come with a monitor judging from the pictures. For that price 1. it better come with every rare and hard to find expansion cards for the IIgs 2. those cards better be made out of gold. 3. it better include a monitor.
  8. you have to tinker with the output volume on the PC to get it just right which can be a bit tricky to pull off. too low it wont work, too high it wont work. i know that is what you have to do to xfer data from a PC to a Apple II using ADTPro (xfer disk images over to the Apple II to make a disk), but the same might be true for audio data using a audio player files.http://adtpro.sourceforge.net/connectionsaudio.html for something of a reference point. heck someone used a Ipad to load data to a Apple II by a single line http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-y9vl5xopM the above might give you pointers. but its mainly trying to adjust the volume output correctly. you could also be getting some form of interference between the devices.
  9. The N64 was a exception to your post I can name two n64 games that required the N64 expansion pack to be able to play them. if you didn't have it you could not play them 1. Donkey Kong 64 2. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask and two more that would run on stock systems but you would have less content, or limited game play because that extra content required the e-pack 1.Perfect Dark 2.StarCraft 64 but most of the games that could take advantage of the e-pack could be ran on a stock or upgraded N64 (because they did not want to limit the sales potential of a game due to a lot not having the e-pack), the games that did not take advantage of the e-pack was unaffected if you did nor did not have it. I do not think extra ram or added hardware abilities could be added to a N64 cart ( i could be wrong). but it wasn't like the NES or SNES that had extra hardware in the cart to expand the systems capabilities for a few games but yeah, a cart based system could be expanded by adding extra hardware in the cart (the exception was the n64) unlike a disk based system, adding the hardware to the cart was the better way of expanding a systems capabilities.

  11. That's because this generation sucked. They gave us the Xbox 1.5 and the PS2 1.5 instead of the quantum leap we were expecting. We need new consoles that Scott Bakula in the year 2151 would be proud of. I for one would like to know how you figure that the 360 and PS3 are version 1.5 hardware wise they are on a totally different level. its the devs and publishers that are still stuck in last gen, not the hardware. i mean hell look at the hardware specs of a 360 and PS3 and you would see where i am coming from. The 360 and PS3 are so much more powerful the last gen, The devs are the ones that are not properly using that power to their advantage and just slapping things together that hardly look better then last gen, yeah they have HDR, yeah they have active reflections, yeah they have real time shadows, yeah they have bells and whistles that set them apart from last gen games. you take all that out and you have a game that gets stomped by a last gen game when it comes down to how the game looks. The Devs themselves are to blame not the hardware. This gen consoles are a quantum leap hardware wise, the developers/publishers either missed that ship or didn't get the memo.
  12. I want to see a big game based off of the tech that made .kkrieger possible. then there would be no outcry from publishers/developers over storage space limitations That game only took up 96k of space. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.kkrieger http://www.theprodukkt.com/kkrieger . It uses something called procedurally generated textures. The ones that cry for a new generation of consoles need to take a step back and evaluate themselves. I often wonder why the big gaming houses can't create things like this. it seems that there is more talent in the homebrew/open source scene then at any dev house.
  13. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/02/forza-4-pitch-video-pulled-by-microsoft/#continued I guess it is real (not a April fools joke)
  14. I find it weird that the second dealer logo is Asklon (AMG Transport Dynamics).
  15. I was browsing the Forza forums and came across a post linking to a video of forza 4 in action (not the stupid kinect gameplay footage). The video on Youtube has already been taken down because of Microsoft, but here is the video on Dailymotion All i can say is wow they stepped it up. could this be a really well pulled off joke ( i hope not) it does say for internal use only, and Microsoft did have it pulled from Youtube.
  16. Looks like you'll be missing out on a bunch of cheap, awesome games while the rest of us are enjoying them. LMAO, to tell you the truth i am not hard pressed about indie games. I would much rather save my money and go spend $30 for a gallon of Nitro fuel for my RC and go to a track and have way more fun then i can have in any game available today. like i said i am not missing much by not buying these DRM ridden indie games. what happens if your net is down, oops you can't play. what happens when the 360 is no longer supported (quite a ways away, but it will happen) oops sorry you can't play (that is if they do not patch it). How much do you want to bet i am having way more fun then you are
  17. I do like it BUT I do have a few gripes about it though. Take Axel Stone as a example his Grand upper is so weak in this version its almost worthless (all characters > > attack special are weak) and when hitting a enemy its very slow and you can slide past the enemy (no matter the game type setting), performing the move is not very responsive either), your standard attack is far more powerful. when you specify SOR2 you still get the upgraded Grand upper (called Grand Hook) which was not in SOR2 take the energy draining moves (using axel as a example) such as the Dragon Smash or the Dragon Wing take way to much energy to perform (you can perform maybe 4-5 times max per energy bar), the first time you use the move it does not drain health when you perform them. I despise the use of the SOR3 sprites, i think their animation sucked, they looked like crap. SOR2 sprites are way better. I only hope that the use of SOR2 sprites can be unlocked or added. The enemy AI runs away to often. most of the times you are chasing instead of fighting. You cant break out of a hold by using your (using axel again) dragon wing special. so far every hold a enemy has had on me i could not break out of by normal means (could not break out at all), you can still use it when your holding a enemy or when they are all around you hitting you. The speed is a bit slower then what i am used to. the voice is in a lower tone then what it should be (should be a tone setting). lack of any sort of online mode (mainly direct IP). here is what i liked so far You can take multiple paths you can play in SOR 1,2 and i think even 3 levels and then some. extra game modes (other then vs) great music has multiple endings you can select many options to mimic the feel of SOR1 2 or 3. many options A profile set to your likes did i mention a lot of levels to play in
  18. I have been waiting forever for SORR v5 to come out. it has been so long i almost gave up hope that it was going to.
  19. wow (in a bad way). maybe this is why i am not playing my 360 as much, the new gen is just so depressing.
  20. wow, SS2 and Thief, now both of those would be so epic on the DC. i love Thief (own it for PC). it has been a favorite ever since i played it from a old demo disk before it came out.
  21. Does your wyse 286 have a small LCD screen on the front of it ? I use to own one that did (think it was a server)
  22. You got to love web archive http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.snsys.com/GameCube/ProDG.htm (linked to the results page) Just looked at the cost of the gamecubes component cables, my god man $90-$120 for those. sad because i do own a Gamecube with the port. but i would rather spend the money on the BBA and gameboy player.
