Thank you kindly, Marty, but that won't actually be necessary. (Sidebar: Don't let me forget I still need to pull the controllers out of my dead-ish Fairchild for you.) I'm pleased to report that I was able to repair the keyboard on my Timex Sinclair, with the help of this video: Was there a repair somewhere in there? I fell asleep after the first 30 seconds. Wow that guy does not the personality for presentation or to be on camera. You too huh. his voice was like taking a sleeping pill. It was a good tutorial that is if you can make it without dozing off. boy am i glad he doesn't talk on radio or it could be bad for people driving. almost like ben stein, Bueller?....Bueller?....Bueller?

The thing is Microsoft wont care, it will be the same with the 360 as it was with the original xbox. once support is gone say bye bye game content and every other gold tied feature. this is also the reason why i hate DLC and downloaded games. This is also the reason i dont care for netflix, espn3, last-fm, twitter, facebook, or other said service being tied to gold account. once the 360 is deemed obsolete, the 360 will basically become useless, after that the only way to do anything with the 360 (other then playing games) is to hack it to allow these features to function.

Look how long the rumors of the PSP2 floated around before the mention of the NGP (it was quite a while). i do not foresee Nintendo doing anything new in the next year with the Wii, they might do a refresh (aka Wii HD or something similar) but not a totally new system (Wii 2), they are making a killing with the Wii, why would they want to change what is going so well.

It looks good, but i don't know if i will have the funds to buy it.

Wii Modchip Ends Up in The People's Court
madmax2069 replied to Mendon's topic in Modern Console Discussion
LMAO, both sides had a bit of mental retardation. and sad to say so did the judge. but the case was over services rendered, not over the legality of a mod chip, that would be for another case entirely. -
EB Games Xbox Gamecube liquidations

It would be so awesome if they had a few GBA players and Ethernet adapters there for $14 like they did last year, but that is unlikely to happen. -
A question about Playstation Store
madmax2069 replied to thegamezmaster's topic in Sony Playstation 3
Gamesharing used to be encouraged. IIRC, when I first got my ps3, there was even an official video on PSN of how to do it (if it was there, it's long gone now). Sony's attitude toward gamesharing seems to have cooled somewhat over the years, so I honestly don't know if they're going to start going after it. Wouldn't surprise me though. Last I heard every game you buy on PSN can still be downloaded on up to 3 systems per the license purchased. It used to be five systems. Mark that down as the other feature to get removed. -
EB Games Xbox Gamecube liquidations
madmax2069 replied to MagitekAngel's topic in Modern Console Discussion
the gamestop around me has quite a few gamecube games, no original xbox games that i can find though. i have been picking up a few $2-$5 gamecube games, i bought Robotech battlecry, Splinter cell pandora tomorrow, Metroid prime for around $10 total. they have a few other $2-$3 games that i want to pick up. -
I am glad i vowed not to buy anything stamped EA a long time ago. This only adds fuel to my fire against EA. and should add fuel to anyones fire for not buying anything from EA no matter what it is. the more you buy anything from EA the more they will continue. I am sick and tired of it.

i think ive figured out todays average gamer....
madmax2069 replied to xg4bx's topic in Modern Console Discussion
To me games have to have much more then just great graphics. great game play, great story (if its story driven) and a lot to do. great graphics alone will not make me happy. great graphics is a added plus but not necessary. -
Current Gen. systems, piracy, homebrew
madmax2069 replied to Underball's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Don't you mean cheating. Cheating is not the same as hacking I am up for homebrew, but cant stand pirates nor online cheaters -
I think that's a great way to try and slow down pirating (notice how i did not say stop). but that would sorta kill homebrew in the process which is not a good thing. i am all up for some homebrew. Homebrew can sell a system just as much as official software and games can, and with a system sale you have the potential for software sales. SONY should have had a system like this in place. have the system detect if the game is running entirely off the HDD with no disk in the drive might be a flag for a pirated game, something like how the 360 can install the game to the HDD but requires the game disk in the drive for authentication. and have the system phone home when it goes online to do a system integrity check. plus have a registration code on the side of the box or on the game guide (that way it has a less of a chance to get lost and will still allow to be traded in and sold used and still work). if the system detects 2 or more same keys online at once will be a pirating flag.

The game is epic, nice find.

Oh boy that brings back memories of my CB days. Had a old Cobra 148 GTL CB that i had peaked and tweaked (paid $2 for it at a yard sale), had a set of finals installed in that thing that really made it talk the talk. dead keyed as much as it would put out stock (around 5-6w) and swung to 50w-60w when modulating on AM, on SSB it was killer. used it as a base with a Astatic D-104 (which helped a bit on the swing of things). started to learn how to do it myself with the help of a fellow Ham/CB operator and his tools. It was great fun (forget most of it now). talked to many people around the world which was amazing. Sorry for going off topic, just rambling about days long past.

To to find lack of info, or to hold back info only spurs interest to find out for yourself even more, Its the bane of our existence, its what we do best. ahhh those was the days. i was born in 79 so i got to see some of that freedom but not like how it was before i was born. but it only takes a few rotten apples to screw it up for the rest of us. ----- not related to the above and the quote-------- Things got screwed up when SONY removed the other OS option, you can thank SONY for screwing up the PS3, not Geohotz. Geohotz sole reason was to give people back their other OS, and to open up the system to allow for homebrew, he did not do this for cheaters or pirates, you can blame the one that took advantage of this for those reasons. Cheaters on the PS3 was around (using game save exploits) way before the PS3 was broken wide open.

Oh they can try. it wont go so well for SONY nor the court. can you imagine how ugly it would get if they start going after people just for reading and following the story. The Judge would be going bye bye, and SONY would be left looking stupid. I have not liked SONY ever since they tried to root-kit the planet, after what they did to lik-sang, Sony Aibo threats and so on.

Probably halo 2 since halo 3 and above are already on the 360. unless they are doing both games on a single release.

Err. what is it? Surely not this -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minix -- ?? i think it is

Help me run emulation on PSP-1001 v3.52
madmax2069 replied to the.golden.ax's topic in Modern Console Discussion
deal extreme sells the Pandora battery for cheap ($4.99). that's where i bought mine and used it to slap CFW on my PSP. it worked like a charm. they even have the hybrid batteries (combo Pandora and normal battery) but most of the batteries there are cheap and they are what you pay for, but they do get the job done. -
Help me run emulation on PSP-1001 v3.52
madmax2069 replied to the.golden.ax's topic in Modern Console Discussion
i have a PSP 2000 which runs 5.00 M33-6, its no longer updated any more but i think its still the better CFW to run. when you do buy a newer UMD game and it requires a newer firmware you can use the PSP to rip the disk and patch it to run on 5.00 M33-6. but its up to you to decide on what version of CFW to run on your PSP 1000. I tried out other CFW versions/releases and found myself quickly switching back to M33-6. So far i have not found any homebrew that wont run on M33-6. i have 20 UMD games and they are a PITA to carry around (with that many disks it becomes a hastle, not to mention they can break easy), i have them all ripped onto my memory card but it does take a bit of space, two 16gb memory cards are easier to lug around then 20 UMD games. and a stand alone 8gb card for homebrew. -
Considering an original Xbox
madmax2069 replied to MagitekAngel's topic in Modern Console Discussion
there is a downfall to a softmod xbox though when or if the HDD dies you lose the mod (that is if you dont save the data recovered from the original hdd once unlocked), with a hard mod you can shove any ATA HDD into it and use it (after formatting that it). a 500gb HDD is nice, dont know how big you can go though.
