  1. didnt have a issue updating, all went smooth and fast for me. I do wish they gave a option to switch themes to the older style. the one thing i can say though is its fast. has more options and is easier to see your account info.
  2. I do not know but LCD screens have came a long way since the PSPs release. it may be possible just look at the iP4 screen (although not HD) 960x640 on a 3.5 inch screen a hell of allot better then what the PSPs 4.3 inch at 480x272.
  3. you need both GPU power and CPU power to display games in HD (depending on their complexity), if it used a lower screen res it wouldn't be HD then now would it, even if it was above 480p but below 720p it would still be sub HD (which is not HD). doesn't say anything about hd up there^ oops i meant to multi quote.
  4. you need both GPU power and CPU power to display games in HD (depending on their complexity), if it used a lower screen res it wouldn't be HD then now would it, even if it was above 480p but below 720p it would still be sub HD (which is not HD). CPU power alone will not get you HD, and GPU alone wont get you HD. its a combo of both. and if its anywhere close to the power of the 360 the battery would be the size of a laptop, then you would run into cooling issues. the PSP comes close to rival the PS2 but does not in many aspects. the PSP already has 2 CPU's (one is the main CPU and one is the media engine both run at 222mhz or 333mhz if overclocked). so far i have seen only homebrew take limited advantage of the second CPU. if both CPUs was able to be used full tilt then the PSP could (in theory)come close to match and maybe even surpass the PS2 in CPU power, the only thing that holds the PSP back is its GPU.
  5. I kept from saying that myself, i guess you could have said i was afraid to start a fanboy crap slinging match. but everything you have said could not be anymore then the truth. who would want to lug around a portable game system that big just because of the battery, not to mention the heat related issues you would run into just for starters. battery tech would still have to come a long way to obtain the size you would need to remain portable but be as powerful as something that ran off of the wall outlet, but that still does nothing to help with heat. hell look at the iPad, its no where near the 360s performance and it has heat issues if you used it on a hot enough day.
  6. If you look at it the PS3 move is more close to the Wii
  7. Doesn't gamestop allow you to return a game as long as its within a certain period of time (i think its like 14 days) no matter if its opened or not ?
  8. I'm more for the pressure sensitive buttons that the PS2 and PS3 controller have, if you ask me its a must have feature on any newer gen console. Dual thumb nubs would be really nice. I just hope they keep the dual format that they have been doing (DLC and physical media), let the user decide on what one they want to buy but keep both as a option
  9. and a hacked one is even more so, it unlocks its full potential.
  10. why not make another profile and PSN account ?
  11. there is (sort of) but its just as crazy to get to run on as it is the 3000 PSP. once you turn it off you have to go over the steps again (its that way every time you shut it off)
  12. http://tinyurl.com/28opyqf $20 is what the halo has been selling for for quite a while, i had it in my watch list for over a year when i was going to buy one until my friend gave me his SP. i like the original GBA more then the SP because of the control layout. I bought a M3 cart about the same time (could not be happier) but i have to get a pass card before it will work on my DS lite. The aterburner kits do go for a bit of cash. or you can buy one of these lol http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.24381
  13. Once it's final, the price doubles. Besides, as the over 500 thousand purchases so far attest, even in an "alpha" state it already has at least as much gameplay as a lot of released games. Anyone thinking of spending the piddling amount to purchase it just has to ask themself two questions: 1. Do I like sandbox games? 2. Do I like games that let me build things? If the answer to both of those questions is yes, go for it. And you don't get a static product... it automatically updates to the current version. These are usually once a week -- always adding new features or improving existing ones -- but for the last few weeks they've been working on the huge Halloween Update. Im not saying i don't or wont like it but as it sits now i lack the funds to purchase, it don't bother me on paying double for a finalized game. i just don't like the fact on paying to test a alpha either. once its in final i will decide. I love sandbox games and i love to build things, that's why i bought Gmod a while ago.
  14. I loved playing the original as a kid, i hope that this doesn't disappoint
  15. it looks neat and all, but i am not going to pay for a alpha version of any game just to play it sorry. i will buy one once its final but until then nope.
  16. Greater portability. The fact that haters are still falling all over themselves slamming this thing is astounding. It's a good gaming system. Its absolute junk, how much portable does one need a hand held system to be, the PSP phat and slim are portable enough. The Go adds bluetooth, takes away umd, makes the screen smaller, uses a slide screen (if you ask me is no better then the crap slider phones that are prone to break). it might have been cool if it was the launch PSP but its not. i will slam it to hell and back because it was a un-needed release from a scared SONY trying to stop homebrew and piracy, the design fails hard. what they needed to do was develop and release a PSP 2 which is way past due to happen. The orignal, 2000 and 3000 is just as good if not better at gaming then the GO is due to the larger screen and the control layout.
  17. If it doesn't have a way to take physical media i might opt for the open Pandora ( if you ask me Panasonic is ripping off the open Pandora from what i have seen of the jungle)
  18. yeah it unlocks the racing mode (instead of being the cop), i was hoping for multiplayer since you have to spam everyone on your friends list.
  19. True, but the way i see it is that gamers buying used games instead of new is a form of revolt, and that revolt could be one of the causes of another gaming crash, and the gaming companies see this and are trying to do things to stop it only making things worse for us which makes it worse for them.
  20. its going to get worse if people allow it to happen. if you ask me EA has fell far from what they use to be. i haven't bought a EA game in a long time. and until they change it will stay that way. they continue to lose focus and continue to get more greedy and wonder why they are loosing sales. the sad thing is many are following in EAs footsteps and people are allowing it to happen. This is why i foresee and sort of want a gaming crash, i think something like that will make them see the light again.
  21. I would just buy one of those cheap knock off Dremel tools depending where you go they can run from $10 - $25, they do great when cutting plastic way better then a hot knife.
  22. Considering the makers of the Burnout series are behind this new NfS entry, that's not surprising. But then I've always been more of a fan of the Burnout series anyway. After playing the demo, I agree it feels very much like a Burnout game. The race was, well, a race, and the police chase wasn't entirely unlike the "road rage" events in Burnout 3 and beyond. The cars do handle a little more realistically, but otherwise anyone who enjoyed Burnout Paradise is going to feel quite comfortable here. The scenery is even as beautiful, and as beautifully rendered. It is a great looking game at that yes, but they could have done so much better with the game play. i am burned out on burnout, i liked flatout much better, i much rather buy blur then buy this (not saying anything bad about blur or anything).
  23. That's depressing. Think if we couldn't watch old movies or listen to old music anymore. And if people had that same mentality about it: "oh, that's old I don't want to watch that". A classic like 'The Princess Bride' being dismissed just like that. It's sad to see that our game media is becoming a disposable commodity. Especially when the creators want so much to be like the film industry. I would think some of the big names like Hideo Kojima and the likes would be opposed to a digital-only future where their talents could only be appreciated within a tiny window of opportunity (whatever the life span of a download-only console ends up being). I, for one, do not welcome the digital download future. +1 I could not have said it better myself
