I wouldn't put it past Youtube to try though, i have seen them do allot of things that does not make since.
If anyone raises a stink over the video no matter if its legal they can and will pull the video or disable the audio.
I have seen all to many times where a video had music playing in the background ( could be from a TV or a radio in the background or the music was added to the video but with the original works) but have the original works (talking, diffrent sounds that has nothing to do with the music playing in the background) in the audio mainly covering the music and still have the audio disabled.
That attitude alone made me shy away from Youtube and find another video host. Google knows how to destroy something good, what Youtube use to be and be about.
There is a fair use law but they do not abide by it because they do not see it as a law.
But i have seen many go untouched and some will remain that way until youtube goes under or the user removes the video.

Congrats on the score, i paid a bit more for mine though, i didn't get a monitor because i planned on just using my TV which works out fine, It does mess with the dithering effect though but not that bad to make things unusable).
but i did get a 3.5" drive and a 5.25" drive, keyboard and mouse and a 256k ram card (unpopulated) but since its a rom 03 it has just enough memory to do some things. I need to get a second 3.5" drive to make disk swapping a bit less.
I own a Performa 475 (internet capable) that i use to make the disks for my IIgs.
I plan on buying a 4mb ram card from briel computers and eventually a SSD card. I only wish that i could run into a zipGS or transwarpGS for it. definatly need to pick up a joystick for it.
So far i do not own any 8bit Apple 2 games to try on it. but most should work just as good as they do on a real Apple II.
The only thing thats wrong with mine is its switching headphone jack is stuck like i have a pair of headphones plugged in so the internal sound does not work, it will work when i short out the terminals, its very common for this to happen from what i have seen because the contacts inside the jack will corrode or break or develop dead spots.
I either have to replace it, clean it or hard wire it.
Another thing you should be on the lookout about is leaking or bulging caps in the PSU (which are known to go bad). even inspect them on the mobo. and since its a rom 3 it has a replaceable Pram battery, depending on how long it has went without power you might want to replace it unless they replaced it before they sold it (which most of the times they do not). also check the battery for damage, you do not want this battery to leak or explode because it will total the mobo.

You can connect the Apple II to a VGA monitor if you have the proper hardware to convert the signals to VGA. A side effect of using HDTV or VGA monitor is that it does not produce the best looking color picture because most if not all of the colors produced use a dithering method, but B&W gets by just fine for the most part.

Thanks for your help. I think you're right about the info being out of date. Regardless, I guess I'll just have to experiment and find out the answers to these questions for myself. I was mostly asking because I was thinking to go out this evening and buy a HDD, but it occurred to me that if I could just use USB drives (of which I have piles laying around unused) that I could save myself $100.
well hopefully they are big enough and hopefully they will pass the 360's inspection when you go and set them up.

I know you can with dashboard bought games (the games i bought from dashboard are small in size, uno, perfect dark, hardwood spades), i dont see why you couldn't install a game to a large enough USB stick, I only have a 2gb micro SD and a micro SD reader so i could not tell you but to try it out.
This reminds me of another question I had. I see that certain Marketplace games (Marvel v Capcom 2, for example) say that they require a HDD for storage. Is that just text that hasn't been updated since USB Flash Drive support was added, or is there something about those games that specifically requires a HDD?
Well you got to remember that most likely the USB feature probably wasn't out at the time the game was and only had HDD or the old 360 memory card at the time. it hasnt been that long since that feature was added. so the info probably isnt correct about the game.
MS could have put a block from installing games to the USB from a disk but i do not know for sure, but i doubt they did.
i know that all of my downloaded games run fine from my USB drive.

If places stopped selling used games i will just hit up the closest crackhead for my used games, enough said.
They might be able to stop used games from being sold in stores but they will never stop people like you and me from buying them from other people.
I see this as corporate greed.

yeah They must have fixed the site just right after i got mine, its not even available when you click it now.
i did see a few bugs in the downloaded version thats not in the hard copy. like the line you follow gets all screwy and does not move sometimes, some of the backgrounds are not right, you dog has brain farts way to often and even with the NPCs, the game has a few slowdowns.
I have seen a few games get messed up when installed to the HDD so that could be the issue with this game.

Weird, after I let the 360 format my card, my computer sees it, but won't access it. Are you sure the xbox actually formatted the card? You just go to your main blade, go to system settings and select the card in memory and tell the system to set it up.
You can tell the 360 during the setup of the USB on how much of the space it used for the 360 (aka partitioning). the PC will not read a 360 formatted usb drive unless you get the program that will allow you to (if it even will), but the program is for modding non MS larger HDD's to be installed on the 360, it can read the data on a 360 HDD, no clue if it will a usb drive.
But windows lacks the ability to read that format so it wont allow you to mess with the data stored on a 360 formatted USB drive (to try to keep you from cheating mainly).
I use a 2gb kensington micro SD card and a kensington micro SD reader and it works great.

The cell CPU is a very interesting piece of kit, but it has a flaw.
If the single PPE in the Cell gets over burdened it cant push the info to the SPE's fast enough, basically limiting them in what they can process. the PPE is used to control the SPEs and if its to busy is cant fully control the SPEs. the SPE's cant be used for any general CPU tasks and can not do branch prediction, and each SPE has very little memory to work with.
But if they get the proper mix right the Cell is a very nice CPU.
I own a Jasper and so far 9 months strong. my friend that i live with owns a PS3 so i do not need to buy one.

seems as its still working, i just did it and downloading it now.

there is bugs and glitches with just about every supported original xbox game when played on the 360 because its using software emulation and its far from where it could be.
just about every game i have played looked around the same or worse then being played on the original xbox.
the biggest problems i run into is slowdowns. Try to play KOTOR II on the 360 (boy its a mess), during slowdowns you warp around the map buttons will hardly respond and sound will skip. the best playing games i have found to be halo 1 and halo 2 but still with a few glitches.
its sad that MS no longer supports the backwards compatibility. just be glad that it has the ability.

Have you hit up the online emulators to see if they have them (by online emulators i mean the ones you use a browser with) like the apple IIgs explorer they have a list of apple II and IIgs games you can play, or virtual apple 2
2. sounds like Autobahn (its on the Virtual Apple 2 site under the apple 2 area towards the bottom of the A list), you have a selection in the menu and night driver is one of the six in the list. i do not know if thats the version you are looking for or not.

I would use the 40gb untill you can get a new 160gb slim. I love my slim. Cool and quiet. Although it did freeze up the other day on youtube and I had trouble shutting it down. I was finally able to turn it off and when it turned back on it sent a error report to sony. Mabye I should have gotten that extended warranty.

It probably would have been a good ideal to get a extended warranty (it is with any console). But i have found out that the browser is a bit unstable and will cause lockups most of the times ( i know because my PC was down and used my friends PS3 to surf the net with, and ran into quite a few times where it locked up constantly), I am glad it has one or i would have been going nuts.
but it hasn't ever locked up during a game yet. his is a phat that doesn't have backwards compatibility, although it hasn't really been played with much (other then when i used it to surf the net).
Another one of my friends owns a Slim PS3 and he to (just recently) joined the YLoD camp, boy was he ever pissed. His 360 dvd drive died so he was without anything to play.
I have done a bit of internet research about the YLoD and it can be caused by a failing PSU (on the older models mainly) as well, and the other reason is the board warping away and separating the heat-sync from the GPU and CPU and causing the BGA's to fail due to overheat.
Its be a bit more but i would opt for a new slim with a extended warranty.

I can supply the web space if anyone else is interested in building such a site...
Chris
That would be quite awesome (also thanks for thew offer, someone might take you up on that, They would be stupid not to, unless they have their own storage to do that), I do not know how to build a web site or i would try, but it also would need more then one person to go through the games and take screen shots of them (would make it allot faster) and someone that will write a little bit of info about the said game.

another thing that makes a huge improvement in the straight away is by using manual with clutch, your acceleration will improve by a bit giving you a edge over someone that's using auto or manual without clutch.
Its a PITA to learn but once you do its like night and day.

It also depends on what class race, or if its forced non upgrade class race.
If you go in with a non tuned car in a class race you will get served quite often (because people do upgrade and tune the car to the max for that class, if you are in a forced non upgrade class race then you driving skills are put to the test over who has the best upgrade car setup.
if your car is properly upgraded and tuned then you do not have to rely on driving skills as much.
again it really depends on what class and what type of race you was doing.
on a non upgraded class race i can keep up with the pack and usually ger 2nd or 3rd (sometimes 1st) but they do not leave me.
but most of the times in a class that allows upgrades i will loose quite horribly (depending on what track it is). I came into 1st place only a few times.
Then you have to watch out for the butt holes that like to use you as the brake during a corner or like to spin you out because your passing them.

will it be using the source engine?
I bet its still using the source engine (a bit modified from original).
Isn't that engine a bit outdated, or is it just me?
no not really, you would be surprised what a few tweaks and add-ons can do to a game engine.
The source engine is still a very capable and good looking engine.

I think he was looking for a site like this http://www.whatisthe2gs.apple2.org.za/ , but unfortunately that's for the IIgs and not the Apple II.
The only other way is to go to http://www.virtualapple.org/ and play each Apple II game, but would be time consuming and plus they don't have all the software. you can also try here http://portune.net/gs/ to get to the Apple II software select from the drop down what looks like a 5.25" drive, the 3.5" drives are for the IIgs software, you can also click on the library to see what all they have (both sites require ActiveGS to be installed to play from the browser).
Oh and BTW there is also http://www.apple2online.com/ which has a archive of Apple II software (games, educational, and other) but they are not listed if they are for the Apple II or IIgs nor have screen shots nor have info about them, most are for the Apple II series very few (that i have ran into) are for the IIgs.

man i would do just about anything for logitech/Microsoft/turn 10 to make the G25/G27 wheel work on the 360, to have a clutch a H gate shifter and 800-900 degree of steering would be oh so awesome.
But i guess the official MS wheel would have to do.

they ended up going back to the all-in-one setup for the iMac and eMac and started having the same issues again.Apple actually went back to the AIO setup before the iMac http://www.wap.org/journal/molarmac/default.html The first of the All-in-one G3 (only sold to the education market in the USA). The PowerMac G3 AIO (all-in-one), DT (desktop), MT (mini tower). first of the G3 Macs but last of the old world rom.
I own one

Its about damn time the D-pad on the xbox controller gets a redesign, Although I still prefer the D-pad the PSX/PS1/PS2/PS3 has.
I don't know how this will act or feel yet, but i hope its better then the old design.

XBC and Xlink but of course the 360 has the system-link ping limit (unless you mod your 360) to deter people from using such programs like so many did for Halo 2 last generation.I never really had connection issues with my 360 when playing on xLink or XBC no matter if it was a original xbox game or 360 game. i guess it really depends on the hosts connection and your connection. I have been able to connect and play with people with around 300ms ping times, any higher i would have some issues with staying connected (but i guess thats because of the code isn't as optimized to go on the net with)
but i have ran into a bit of lag though because of too many players for the hosts connection to handle.
There was always way less tolerance with lag when in lan games then when playing online on. its the same for any console or PC game, i dont know how many PC games i played using hamachi and ran into a few disconnects because of high lag.

Is this something that I need to worry about?
in Sony Playstation 3

Its probably just the spindle motor noise or the eye moving. Probably nothing really to be worried about ( again i said probably) but you can never be to sure, my friends phat style PS3 does this when the disk starts spinning from a dead stop, its been doing it for quite a while.
