Sounds like either a faulty PSU or even worse you have blown out the power chip using the wrong PSU. Never did use another PSU on it, only used its original PSU (hard to mistake it for another since its marked Jaguar on it). i tested it to see if it was working and it did output what it was suppose to, so its not the PSU. it was working fine when i put it into a box and into the closet (had to make room).

Check out this haul...
madmax2069 replied to Cebus Capucinis's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
The 20SC is a external SCSI hard disk drive for the Apple II series, It required you to have a SCSI card to use it. a little bit of info on it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_Disk_20SC These can fetch a bit on ebay. i have seen then go well above $100 (even close too $200) just for this alone (not including the SCSI card) a really nice haul you got there. and even better that it was FREE. That card with the purple HS on it IS in fact a CPU upgrade ( a 500mhz G3 CPU upgrade) http://www.sonnettech.com/product/crescendo_pci.html The two chips beside the CPU upgrade are Roms for the Mac (probably to those motherboards) a little bit of searching google for the numbers might provide some results on what rom chips they go to and what the motherboards come out of) -
Atari Age Members GamerCards (2011 update)

You can add me, my Gamertag is madmax2069 -
I did the same thing with my 360 (don't own a PS3), I haven't played it in over a month. i got tired of playing games riddled with bugs and glitches they seem to never fix or patch. who wants to play a game online where the game allows someone to cheat because of a glitch that's been in the game since the game has been released and they have been told about it. i just got fed up with it.

be glad you didn't get the E74 error. that RRoD repair kit would have fixed it anyway. but so far i haven't seen one that permanently fix the E74 or the RRoD (only temporary) once it has happened. The E71 error code is just a screwed up update or system software and sometimes can be reset. I would fear putting the mobo into the oven and melting any plastic parts. glad to hear that you got it back up and running. just for the curious link to a list of error codes and possible fixes http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=484726 and a link to the different versions of 360s http://beta.ivancover.com/wiki/index.php/Xbox_360_Revisions

TI-99/4a Data Transfer Using Serial Cable
madmax2069 replied to Tempest's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
http://retrofloppy.com/products.html scroll down to the USB adapter, you can find something like that (for allot less on ebay) to get what you want done without needing a older computer with a RS-232 port. OMG i got tricked into posting in a zombie topic. -

You can correct the yellowing case issue with Retrobright http://retr0bright.w...Retr0Bright+Gel it works rather well with yellowed cases, but wont fix a beat down case. All of the SE/30s I've found have much more serious problems than yellowing. Analog video board issues are the most common problem, but the others suffered from partial motherboard failures like dead sound, fried ADB, or other non-working ports. Analog boards can often be fixed by recapping, but I currently have too many other systems to repair to add another to the list Yes they had a issue with the caps over time. replacing the caps goes a along way to fix most of those issues, also the electrolyte would spill onto the chips shorting them out (most of the time fixed my putting the mobo into the dish washer, and replacing the caps). The earphone jack on the those is a switching jack (meaning it uses a switch to enable/disable the internal speaker inside the jack itself). either you have to bypass the switch or to replace the jack itself to fix it. Its the same thing with my IIgs and its internal speaker, had to jump the ear phone jack to get the internal speaker back working but really the worst was the yellowing case. Replacing the caps isnt easy but solves most of the B&W Macs issues (other then the occasional Pram battery replacement). -

Sadly, these are in the kitchen right now until my office/gameroom is finished. Still, it's an idea of what they look like next to each other. I agree with what others said about an SE/30, but I haven't found any in good condition. A Mac Plus (shown in the photo) can be found for much less and can still play tons of the old B&W games. well that solved that curiosity of mine, anyway I might get one one day I just have the question of what you SE/30 owners do for games as I can't find any on ebay. But I am getting a C64 for those who weren't clear, this thread turned out to be a lot longer then I expected. unfortunately they can be rather hard to get a hold of. that's why Hatta gave a link and i PMed you a link. that is really the only other way when you cant find any on ebay, again rather hard to come by. that's why MG is around (the MG site isn't what it use to be) it use to only have old Mac Games, but that version of the site is long gone. You can correct the yellowing case issue with Retrobright http://retr0bright.wikispaces.com/Retr0Bright+Gel it works rather well with yellowed cases, but wont fix a beat down case. -

madmax2069 replied to 4ever2600's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
WOW really, its like this hasn't already been done before (a PC in a keyboard). i think they are really late to the game. Not very interesting. At least they could have added Commodore hardware in it to where you could use old C64 (or insert Commodore system of choice) software and hardware on it. Bleh i will pass. -
no but that does somewhat show the pinout of the Amiga to make your own cable to hook into a TV by RGB Component input. you might need to add onto it (for signal conversion) if you was planning to hook it into a S-video input. sorry i am not to good at this sort of thing.

Yeah i already PMed him about that site, i just didn't post about it because of what the admin/mods or others might think about abandonware sites that have older non supported licensed software to download. i didn't want to break any rules (as most forums have a rule against it). They also have more newer stuff then that ( which is why i didnt provide a link openly). but if your offering a SE/30 you could offer it to him to see if he would buy one, that is if he hasn't already made up his mind. -

So get an SX64. I think he was aiming for the same like form factor here. not just any AIO computer. i can only imagine how much one would fetch. Yeah I wasn't being totally serious there. Sorry i meant to put a sarcasm tag in there I guess you could set the SX64 on its side lol -

Not really you just have to get a Mac video to VGA adapter and use a current monitor, something like this http://tinyurl.com/2uwvx5k. Damn sorry for the double post, not what i wanted to do, it seems like there is no delete option. -

madmax2069 replied to Videogamecollector123's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
There is quite a few games that will run on the old B&W Mac, more so then what some think. But granted nothing like the C64 though. There is some gems for the B&W Mac, The B&W Mac would make a great conversation piece and would look good along side the Vectrex. But there is allot more games that wont run on the B&W Mac (because you need a Mac that has a color mode or a higher screen resolution). Shipping will be a bit high for a B&W Mac. The only Color Classic Mac I see on ebay has a $549.99 price tag on it. sometimes you can find them in a forum trading post www.68kmla.com, www.Applefritter.com but chances are not likely. The SE/30 are also fetching a high price, $100 or above not including the shipping (which is $20 or more). There is currently no Pizzabox Macs on ebay. i would do a bit of forum hunting, and i would also hit up craigslist, Make a forum want post, because to me it looks like you are going to pay a arm and a leg for one on ebay. -
I Learned about the system on the TV, and in game magazines. But took me a while to buy one (for $20 new) have like 4 - 5 games for it (Doom, club drive, syndicate and a few others that i forget. The darn thing wont power on anymore, put it in storage in the house (still worked then) and took it out a few months later and it wont power on.

If you ask me the 5200 controls was trash and would break really easy. almost the entire inside was made with a flex circuit system which would get brittle after a while and break. Your issue seems like that is what happened also another issue with the controls was the rubber boot under the stick was what made the stick return to center and would eventually fail. sorry for being off topic.

Gaming on a macintosh 128K
madmax2069 replied to Videogamecollector123's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
The 128k Mac has its limits, i would go after a SE/30 at least because it is 8mhz faster and has a FPU (which is required for a few games)and has more memory (1mb standard 128mb max) plus has a HDD (40mb or 80mb) but still a B&W screen. to keep the same like form factor and have a colored screen you can look at and for the color classic or the color classic II (but they tend to fetch a bit at times). 128k http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_classic/stats/mac_128k.html SE/30 http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_classic/stats/mac_se30.html Color classic II http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_classic/stats/mac_colorclassic_ii.html http://www.everymac.com use that site to learn about what you want to decide to get. My first Mac was a SE/30 and i could not have been more happy with it (i eventually sold it). I replaced that with a Performa 475 and upgraded it (maxed out), makes allot better gaming 68k then a SE/30 but its not the same form factor. Performa 475 http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_performa/stats/mac_performa_475.html All that i have done to my P475 is Replaced the 25mhz 68LC040 (lacks FPU) with a full 40mhz 68040 (has FPU) 128mb stick of ram combined with the onboard 4mb totals 132mb 1mb vram ethernet card External LaCie SCSI CD burner 2gb HDD. The LC 475, Performa 475, Performa 476, Quadra 605 are all the same inside but has a slightly differentlook but still in the Pizza box form factor. Good luck in finding what you want to get. Hopefully i was helpful. Frank -
Good Adventure/RPG Games For A Macintosh G3 (OS 9)
madmax2069 replied to Tempest's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
Hey thanks, it took long enough to get it that way. sorry for going off topic. A friend of mine modded the Pioneer Authoring extension for OS9 to gain the iApp burn support for my DVR-110D. I then modded it for someone for a 111D and it worked as well. the same could be done to yours in OS 9. nothing like a fully working system. -
other then buying the proper parts (from radioshack) to make a adapter didn't the system output the proper signals to plug into a s-video or RGB component input of a TV ? Or did it still need to be converted to something a TV can use.
