  1. 2.09 has made online racing a bit interesting. So far I haven't ran into the logo black screen. Being that online physics are the same as offline physics (except for rolling, you can roll to around 90 degrees but not fully flip) cars might have to be retuned. I don't know if they tweaked the clutch in this patch, but my friend said it feels different.
  2. Wow just listen to that audio quality of streets of rage 2, sounds like a cluster %$ on a grinding wheel, sonic and knuckles has a low tone, can't speak about the other titles because I don't have them. Seems about the same as other atgames/firecore device, absolutely horrid audio.
  3. My model 1 is a va7, never had any issues with it. It does output clear video, but the audio is a bit distorted and hissy. From what I understand is the va7 is a model 2 in a model 1 format. I have wanted to do the cca mod to it but requires more then what you would do to a model 2 due to the headphone output. Plus I haven't found a guide to install the cca mod on a va7, all that I have seen is for the model 2.
  4. Gamecube, sticking open button, optical drive laser not reading the disk (a given on any optical drive based system), failing controller ports (the first used one I bought had failing controller ports, took it back and got a replacement).
  5. Here are a few that I have played and enjoyed. Stupid zombies Angry Birds Rio Flip kick field goal kickoff Race of champions Gun bros Jet car stunts Ceramic destroyer Angry birds space Death rally Dead trigger Shogun (shmups) Stair dismount Coin pirates
  6. It really depends on how long you played your systems, already replaced the eyes I'm my PS1, dreamcast, gamecube, Xbox. All optical based systems have the same weakness, their optical drives will fail.
  7. I thought disk utilities could burn ISO
  8. Why in the hell does interstate 76 and interstate 82 have such inflated system requirements?
  9. I updated to 2.08 yesterday, ran into the black screen 6 times when trying to enter a online race (black screen with the logo on the bottom right). I could still hear my car, could still hear other peoples cars, could still control my car, people could see my car in game. But there is no way to back out into the lobby and have to quit the game. Oh boy, a messed up update.
  10. I enjoyed the game, yeah it can throw you into a controller smashing fit, but what game doesn't. I beat the game, and will gladly go back and play it again. I also own MM and OoT that I play as well.
  11. Definitely looking into buying a Sega CD, already own a 32x.
  12. Well here you go http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0007WA7SQ/ref=mp_s_a_1?pi=SL75&qid=1349383702&sr=8-1
  13. This link has the best list http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?21172-Best-non-fmv-sega-cd-games. Any non fmv game is usually good (there are a few non fmv stinkers out there). Quite a few are the same as the Genesis version with added graphic effects, better music and sound effects, some don't have a Genesis version. I think that all Sega CD fmv games suck.
  14. From what I hear the yobo FC 3 Plus (newer revisions) has good compatibility with Genesis games, plus it has nes and SNES slots as well http://www.dascheap.com/fc3-plus-gaming-system-charcoal-nes-snes-genesis.html . If you want 100 compatibility you are better off just getting a real model 1 Genesis, they can be found everywhere and can be bought for a cheaper price (most of the times).
  15. You're welcome. The first 3 games I bought for the 32x are star wars, cosmic carnage, metal head. next pay I'm definitely getting 3 more. Shadow squadron is on the list, the jury is still out about t-mek.
  16. Not really rare when its on Amazon for $14 http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000VCUHBY/ref=mp_s_a_69?pi=SL75&qid=1348540580&sr=8-69
  17. No problem, I signed up about a month ago when I seen that topic. Being that I'm in the market for a Sega CD I'd figure it would be useful to know what I'm getting into. Plus being a gaming fan it makes for good reading.
  18. Either the eye is weak, eye is dirty, gears could be dry and binding, the spindle motor could be worn out and not spinning the disk fast enough to keep up the data flow, the spindle top (the part the disk sits on when in the drive) could be pushed down a Tad too far and causing the eye not to focus. There's a few other things that could be causing it but the above is common. You should have ran into this topic if you was to use Google to search http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?22027-Sega-CD-systems-repair-thread about all you need to know
  19. But its not correct. A systems bitness (as you say) is looking at every component in the system. It might of had a 8bit CPU but it also had two 16-bit co-processors running at 16 MHz each, nicknamed Mikey and Suzy. Its supporting hardware made it a 16 bit machine. Those co-processors is what took a lot of the burden off the CPU, some could see it as limiting the system, but not really with all that support hardware backing the CPU up.
  20. Yes it has a 8 bit CPU with 16bit address space. Just because the CPU is 8 bit doesn't really make the system itself a 8bit system, there are other hardware sub systems you have to count as well. Remember about the tg16, it had a 8bit CPU as well, but its gpu's are 16bit.
  21. Just a heads up, just because I hate dubstep doesn't mean I have to hate electronic music. Dubstep is after all not tied to any one genre , but is a bastardization of them. And nothing that anyone will say will make me like that garbage. If someone was to ask me to explain what dubstep is, I would tell them to think of a chainsaw screwing a toaster.
  22. I can only guess its the not knowing how to properly port the game over to the ps3, just look at quite a few ports on the ps3 that are inferior to the 360 and PC version. The ps3 is capable if done by capable people. If you was to check the 360 section at the Bethesda forums they are also seeing bugs and lockups that make you want to chuck a controller, even on the PC version, but at least the PC version has unofficial patches. I had the unfortunate joy of being forced (due to no internet) of playing skyrim on the ps3 in a unpatched state, and oh boy was it a cluster f%&*. When I finally had the chance to update it was version 1.4, it was running so much better, and then 1.5 and there was more of a improvement. everything was running great until I ran into the water bug (fixed it by deleting the game install and game patch data). I have yet to update to 1.6/1.7 combo update due to all the complaints about it. So far patch 1.5 has been the best patch so far, I can not comment about 1.6/1.7 due to not wanting to take a chance on making the game unplayable.
  23. I'm talking about the crappy ps3 version mainly. I don't think the water bug effected the 360 or PC versions. Yes a water bug where as soon as you stepped into water the game would lock up, it was introduced in 1.5 when Bethesda did something to the water. Many people ran into this, which it why they have a dedicated topic about it on the official forums http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1364560-game-freeze-after-going-underwater/ And all platforms have many of the same bugs with quests, many crashes, and major performance issues (mainly with the ps3 version), 1.6/1.7 is a cluster bomb of a update, it took a step forward and a few giant leaps back. The water lockup came back, more frequent random lockups, corrupted save files, performance took a nose dive. Certain quests are more buggy then before. I'm saying this, the ps3 version of skyrim seems like beta software at best. Hell they can't even get DG to run properly on the PS3, which is why they have not released it. I do believe the ps3 version support could very well be dropped and no dlc released. Plus Bethesda is keeping the ps3 users in the dark and lying to us, a few people with rose tinted glasses are believing in the fud Bethesda is slinging, many are not. They are saying nothing is wrong with skyrim for ps3, they also are saying they are working closely with Sony to work out the issues keeping DG from working propery, which do you believe.
  24. Here is the picture of the PSU, and yes its a real SNES model sns-001
