Many newer TV can’t lock onto the the ST’s RF output. None of the three TV in my house could.

It was working fine for weeks though, on the newer TV. It just stopped displaying in color one day, now it doesn't display at all, even on my old woodgrain Sears TV. I've been thinking about picking up one of those 13 pin to RCA cables from ebay, now I've got a good reason to go ahead with that. I also need to resolder the mouse ports, might as well check the chips and all that while I've got it apart. Thanks for the help so far everybody! I'll keep y'all updated.

  2. I tried it again today on both my TVs, one's an old school CRT. And now, neither of them seem to be getting a signal from the RF... I got the desktop to show up on the old TV for a second, but it was still in black and white, then turned to static. The newer TV just says "no signal". I guess it's time for some maintenance?

  3. The RF out on the ST is worst then the 4 port 5200 with a working OEM switchbox. Have you tried using a VCR? If not juts hook your RF out from the ST to the RF in on the VCR to see that helps out.

I just tried using my VCR. The picture quality was better, but it was still in black and white. I tried using a couple different cords too. Could there be a problem with the ST itself?

  4. I've been playing my 2600 for the past few days. I'm glad I decided not to sell them, I definitely would've regretted it if I had. But anyway, after playing Video Pinball and Midnight Magic, I started wondering if anyone has made a good homebrew pinball game. Does anyone here know of one?

  5. I just sold off the rest of my game collection, which was pretty big. I was planning on keeping the 2600 cause it was what got me started on classic games and what I've spent the most time and money on. But I haven't had time to actually play any games lately, and I could really use money for other projects. What do you guys think?

  6. It's been a while since I've been seriously into buying or collecting any video games, but the other day I was thinking about some games I came across a few years ago. I used to have a guy at my local flea market who ran a video game booth and sold me Atari games, often giving me the first pick whenever he got a new batch. But one time I went there, his friend had just bought a huge lot of various games and accessories from some guy. I can't remember a whole lot of what the guy got, just a lot of stuff in original boxes. I remember seeing a stack of shrinkwrapped and boxed 2600 games I couldn't believe. In the stack, I remember seeing Glib, Quest for Quintana Roo, Boing!,Out of Control, and a couple Bomb titles I didn't get to examine. Unfortunately, I never had the chance (or money) to pick up any of these games. Anybody else here ever find rare games that you had to pass on?

  7. Does anybody have much experience with these? I just got one in a box lot at an auction. It powers up fine with the power supply, and does a memory test. However, when I try to get it to read disks, it says "Diskette removal or drive not ready". I think the floppy drives are the problem, because none of my disks are working. Does anybody know how to replace the drives?

  8. I turned 15 last month. I mostly played my brother's Playstation games until I was about 10. That's when I got into older game consoles, the first I started collecting for was the Atari 2600. My collection has grown quite a bit since then, and I'd like to start collecting computers too, but lately I don't have money to spend on games.

  9. My first console that was actually mine was my 2600. Then I started collecting for other systems too. I think the order of consoles I got goes like this:

    Atari 2600

    Sega Genesis

    NES

    SNES

    Intellivision

Atari 400 (Later traded for an Atari 7800)

    Atari 7800

    ColecoVision

    Sega Dreamcast

    Sega Master System

    Atari 5200

    Magnavox Odyessy 2

    Panasonic 3DO

    Sega Saturn

and most recently, my Atari 1040STfm.

  10. Let's see... Last I counted, I was at 221. I haven't been into gaming much lately for the past year or so. But the last Atari 2600 games I bought were in a lot, so I'll just say my most unique out of all of them, a color handle version of Stargunner by Telesys.

  11. Can anyone help me here? I remember a game I used to play with my brother when we were younger, I think it was either an old Windows or DOS game, it might have even been freeware game. But I think the name was gun battle, or something along those lines. It was an over head view, and it had two players. You could get weapon upgrades too, I think. Also, I'm not 100% sure, but I think there was an advertisement or something for MAXIS at the end.
