Maybe they only sent it to you because either you got the highest score submitted, or its their way of saying they know you cheated and the glove is for your sticky fingers

I was watching Yo Gaba Gaba with my kid and they were doing an episode about having an adventure. In one of their songs the characters were moving through a jungle in video game style. The graphics were NES style, but the elements were clearly a parody of Jungle Hunt. First they swing from vine to vine, swim through a river avoiding alagators, dodging rocks, even a quick scene of jumping over jungle natives. A little bit later they had a quick clip of a mock-up of Pitfall 2

It goes without saying, but Ill say it anyways, replace the TIA with a socket. Theyre like $4, but they make an IC socket with a ZIF lever.

The copy of combat with the red boarder... whats its rareity? Its not on the AA database. I got a copy with an atari i got off ebay that turned out to be a H6er. Also have the gold border Indy 500

Check to see the shield isnt causing any shorts. Paddle lines all go into the TIA, so it is possible the chip is bad. There are tests in the service manual, but you'll need the test cart, shorting plugs and an o scope. Maybe the STC cart as well. All, including a hard copy if the manual and replacement chips can be purchased at best electronics

A good book on the video game industry in general (mostly atari and activision) I enjoyed as a kid was Video Invaders by Steve Boom. I believe it was written pre crash. Side note: author went on to write articals for High Times magazine

Try a 4 player game and see if both paddles to the set work and in both left and right ports. Its probably one (or more) of the four green capacitors (.068 micro f. 100v epoxy dipped) by the control ports. The atari reads how long it takes for these to charge and discharge to determine the paddles position. The paddles adjustable resistor alters how long it takes. Refer to the field service manual for more info. http://www.atariguide.com/pdfs/Atari_2600_VCS_Domestic_Field_Service_Manual.pdf

Ok I see... every life only gives you five boards, and I was on my last life when I passed five.

Today I tried to rollover dodge em and my game ended after 597 points. Is there a point cap on dodge em like breakout, or a max number of levels?

Johnny is going home... jumping is awkward and hearing "what a friend we have in Jesus" over and over again will drive you insane.

For the tech at the time, the KidVid wasnt too bad of an idea. Pitty they didnt have CD players... could of done a wide variety if games for it.

The buffer is a standard off the shelf part. Any electronics hobby shop should have it. The cpu and riot and tia can be purchased from best electronics. http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/

Is Enduro the Best First-Person Racing Game?
Syntaxerror999 replied to Tin_Lunchbox's topic in Atari 2600
Off topic but Night driver needs a game mode with drunk drivers in the oncomming cars veering back and forth. -
Hey all Recently I got ahold of three of the sesame street games and now Im after the overlays... But people selling them want more for each than I payed for the games in total... So Ive decided to look into reproducing them...but I do have a few questions... 1. What are the exact size of the overlays? 2. What is an ideal material to print them on? Im going for functionality, not authenticity... I want them to be durable enough for my 4 year old... but cost effective. 3. Ive never seen them myself, are the buttons embossed? And if so what is a good way to do this? Would they work just as well flat?

Eliminating console mods by incorporating them into the clone. Ive been kicking around the Idea of a clone that included compoite video, pause, and maybe a few other mods where all you would need is a TIA chip.

Sears golf and stellar track are the only two I already have. Ive yet to win Stellar track. Good game but it be nice if the map was always up or at least on a switch toggle.

How would YOU have made the Swordquest series?
Syntaxerror999 replied to Syntaxerror999's topic in Atari 2600
On a side note...well question realy... Has a proto of airworld or its comic ever surfaced? -
May I throw in a question... why are the origional 9 not numbered 1-9? Simple answer is the numbers are based off their model number...ok, so then why didnt the model numbers go 2601-2609? Did Atari say, ok we got x number of games programed...lets release (picked random game numbers) this year and the rest next year to create hype and make customers anticipate the missing numbers so they wont think this is going to be a dead end purchase? If thats the case its a pretty brilliant marketing strategy. Pitty they didnt stick with the number system. Those are my favorite label variations... not for their rarity, but for what it says about how different the way games were marketed then. Its clearly a biproduct of Pong consoles and their different built in game modes (and may have been influenced by the Odyssey)

Swordquest... Good idea... done poorly. If you were the programer what would you have done differently? I would have made it simular to the Adventure kernal with visual puzzles to solve, some of which would not have been necessary to actualy win the game itself, but necessary to get all the clues for the contests. The idea of the mini games was good and would have adopted that... but better. Hell, why not make it an Aventure sequal... or at least have something to do with the comics that were used. What are your ideas?

Recently I aquired a collection of games rated scarce+ for $19.... Big Bird’s Egg Catch, Codebreaker (text),Flag Capture (text), Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Sears Golf, Stellar Track, Cookie Monster Munch, Miniature Golf, alpha Beam with Ernie, and Fast Eddie (red label). Oppinions?

same thing happened to me. Super glued it back on and hasnt broken again. Dont worry about pushing it back on, the stick is attached to a flat base with a rubber contact pad. One died on me and im not sure why. Board is ok... No visible breaks in the cord and the solder points are ok. Thinking its the ground pin in the plug, but my volt meter is busted.

Hmmm... Ironic. Gotta love those lizzard nazi alagory aliens. (on a side note it wasn't till I was older that I noticed the visitors logo was a broken shwastica. the things we miss in our youth)
