Found out I was nominated in the category best WIP so I'm posting the latest rom!
Working on putting in some text with custom assembly kernels, and I have two variables ready to get some atarivox save and voices with the splitter.
Of course for the purpose of the award show, your latest ROM posted in 2018 is the version up for voting. Today's (and any others released/posting in 2019) will be eligible for the next awards show!
Congrats!!!

Awesome label!!!!!

Nice work! I like the black and white look better than the earlier try from "Secamline", you made it look more like the actual Google game.
Maybe this will help you out: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/258401-trex-aka-first-attempt-at-6507/
Hoping you can get it finished!

Wonder if Ed was able to fix the scanline issues???
-
New beta.
Rom in the original post.
Still working on this one John???
-
Maybe I should include a bullet made with a missile or ball but either I was too lazy to do it or lack the proper knowledge. When you press the button the zombie instantly dies and drops his head.
The other enemy is a UFO. It appears when you change the screen by walking to the right. It also drops a head

Too lazy to do it differently.
Another thing that is confusing or not very clear is that if you walk to the right you enter another screen. But not if you go to the left. And that is not clear, because screens or "rooms" are sometimes the same graphically when they are consecutive. It needs a little more of work, I know.
Is this still in development??

Hello all,
Here is a little project I worked on for a week back in May. It's a port of Atari's Avalanche. The game supports 1 or 2 player, paddles or joystick. To start a joystick game, press the joystick button. To start a paddle game, press the paddle button.
Have fun!
EDIT: The latest BIN can be found in this post.
Old version (no color/bw option):
Is the ROM in the first post updated today or the edit link is the updated ROM?

Look forward to you signing it. Maybe we can meet up again at HAAG.

I hope so. Although I just lost my job this past tuesday........

-
Yeah my copies did too today!!!
Thanks for the purchase! Yours is only 1 of 7 I've sold so far.

Thanks for the feedback, it's great to hear!
I saw the question about Snow Dogs, I actually had taken that down because I found it to be kinda buggy and sub-par, but I would be happy to send anyone the rom, just message me.
PM sent

I haven't seen anyone suggest nominees for the categories yet, so maybe I'll throw out a few to get the ball rolling:
Best Homebrew: Mappy (an amazing port, and a lot of fun!), Dungeon II: Solstice (hard to believe it's only 4K!)
Best bB Release: Sword of Surtr (this was a long time coming, and it evolved greatly in the process), Tyre Trax (beautiful and fun with an Activision-y feel)
Best WIP: Aardvark (this is already amazing in its current form!), Wizard of Wor Arcade, Castle of Doom (a simple game, but a great time-waster with a lot of challenging levels)
The nomination panel is currently processing (and playing) thru all of the eligible game titles and cutting the list down to a manageable size for the public vote.

I had never heard of another Millipede. Is it completely different than the Atari version, i.e. written separately from the ground up? Or is one version a variation of the other?
http://www.atariprotos.com/2600/software/millipede/gccproto.htm
Completely done outside of Atari by GCC. I think it looks alot better than the released version, but the gameplay is not as good as the Atari version.

As soon as I get my hands on one I will hit you up for sure!
I'm glad you're still in this thread. I'm thinking of buying the 70-game model. Is the latest version of the ROM pack compatible with it?
Yes, Hwlngmad got the new version of the AFP (70 games) and said my ROM pack worked flawlessly!

New to this Forum. New to post. Took quite a while to get approved on this Forum.
Got the Flashback Portable 2018 for Christmas and downloaded the games noted at the beginning of this thread into a 2g SD card I got from Game Stop for $2.00 (used). Works great.
Questions:
- Why was Basketball included in the "built-in" games? It is a two player game that seems to be using joystick #2 (right) for Player One where the AFP emulates joystick #1 (left).
- Why was Chase-It included in the "built-in" games? It is a two player game that is pointless to play as a single player game.
- Why doesn't the AFP have a configuration on the paddle emulation (to set motion speed)? It moves too fast, making the "built-in" games like Circus Atari, Breakout, and other paddle games pretty much impossible to play. It seems that Atari merely included the games that the FlashBack # consoles had regardless of their playability on a simulated paddle machine.
In running the Self Diagnostic, the status of the paddle values jitters, implying that the connections for paddles exists on the game control chip and are probably left unconnected. So support for paddles seem to exist.
Regards,
Peter
I can answer the second question, as I made the latest ROM pack that is posted here......
2.) Chase It! is a 1 or 2 player game - "This 16k game is complete with twenty game variations and a demo mode. The first nine variations are two-player games, and games ten through fifteen are single player challenges. Variations sixteen through twenty are "teddy bear" levels featuring a slower moving handicapped opponent to give younger players an advantage."
In my ROM pack when I was putting it together back in 2017, I was just trying to get as many "working" ROMs as I could, so the same built-in titles are also included in my ROM pack. If a future ROM pack update is done, these titles could be removed to make room for new homebrews that would work on the AFP.

Hi,
This is a v5.00 RAR archive. It seems that only version 5.00 of Winrar (or higher) is able to create such files.
Z-Zip is one of the few tools able to (only) uncompress v5 RAR archives
Cool Thanks! I use 7z and it worked.

Just ordered.
Thank You!!!!!
-
That's the problem. But we have categories for packaging, graphics and music. So why not have at least two categories for non bB homebrews?
I would draw the lines between what was possible/affordable in the 80ties and what not.
Please keep in mind this is the first year and first time for us doing this ....... we will learn from it and make the necessary changes for next year. But these categories are set as the trophies have been ordered for this list of categories.

we are proud of 15 titles for intv and in general about the increased effort by intv community (I just checked the replies/views counters from previous gotys and each year we are bigger and bigger)...
what is the live coverage exactly? is this something that can be worked out for intv as well?
Possibility for the 2019 awards show, as James (host of ZeroPage Homebrew show) is trying to get a modified RGB INTV console (and has a CV modified recently) and will branch out to these systems during the new year.
