  2. do you have an active "clicking sound" like the joystick makes , I'm pretty sure they used all the same micro-switchs

    could be a pinched wire , do you have a multi-meter ?

these PnP's are fun to tinker with , but not necessarily built to last

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

after closing mine back up the down direction didn't work , wiggling the wires got it back working again .... fortunately I discovered it before re-applying the labels :D

no clicking sound......and no multi-meter neither

I have one that I bought in the day that works....I was just trying to save this one from the trash can.

  3. In case you don't read the blogs or the batari Basic forums. Just wanted to get your reaction to this 2k 2600 game I'm working on. What do you think? The object of the game is to get the most light blue boxes as possible and not touch the banana. You control Larry the lemon. Touching the banana causes you to lose three seconds off the timer. Once the timer gets to 00, the game is over. The timer is on the left and the score is on the right.

i got a 42!! is it still a WIP? or will it be on a cart soon? has artwork been made yet?

  4. Edit: I also have a Jakks PacMan stick (one of the first releases). The emulation is ok but the picture is very dark. They improved over time.

I was given one of these the other day and tested it out to find that the button (big red one next to the joystick - not the "reset" button) does not work. I opened the unit up today but I didn't visual see anything wrong. Has anyone here replaced the button?

  5. This is my second game, I haven't got too much expertise in programming for the Atari 2600, so I do simple games without too much movement on screen. This is almost a text adventure with some graphics and sounds. You need to hear certain sounds and reproduce them later on other object, similar to the mechanics of Loom by LucasArts. I wrote a manual http://gfvh.webs.com/laundryhero.pdf that explains the mechanics a little as well as some introductory story. I hope you like it and sorry for my poor English.

    not working right on stella.........

  6.

Hi Arenafoot - thanks for the feedback! The grey blocks are actually traps, and they have always been there, though not always visible. I swapped the difficulty switch settings so that Right Difficulty A is for invisible traps, and Right Difficulty B is for visible traps. When the traps are invisible, you can still reveal them by throwing your weapon ahead of you as you walk - the ball will reveal a black outline on the floor when it passes over a trap.

Also, the other small icons (treasures, food, etc.) are still there - they appear randomly in rooms, though not as frequently as traps, which is probably why you didn't see them. I'll look into balancing the enemy/trap frequency in a future update.

Tonight's update has the sound added - finally! It's starting to seem like a real game to me now. I'm still wanting to add a short tune for the title and win screens, but most other events have a sound effect in version 8. I have about 1.5 kb left, so let me know if you have suggestions for other things that could be added.

So, are all of the traps bad??? I walk over each one and it hurts my man 1 level.......i shoot the grey square and it doesn't do anything to it???

Seems like the small icons are rarer now than in V6........I did find the Atari Fuji symbol though which I had not seen before. I also was able to shoot the multi-colored ball and it turned into the cat but i didn't have the right number of items and the cat killed me.

I noticed that if I shoot in one room and quickly go out the exit into the next room - the shot carries over to that room too. Is this a glitch?

I like the sound too! Is there any way of having an visual of inventory items that have been picked up? and items still needed?

  7. I added a new enemy type - this one is a big "alien" that chases when you are not shooting. If you do shoot, the alien will attempt to dodge and return fire. I think the new enemy ramps up the difficulty significantly. I find that "run the hell away" is a valid strategy when health is low and I am confronted with a difficult enemy.

Also added: animated explosions that occur when an enemy is destroyed. Don't touch the fireball!

My question is this: is the game too hard now? Are you still able to win? Does it provide enough challenge?

    Next up: SOUND!

i just played v6 and v7..........v6 is good - reminds me of AD&D for the INTV - v7 is better with the big alien but too many of them and for some reason there's several grey blocks in different rooms, and some of them kill you - i prefer the small icons you had in v6

  8. Hey everyone! Ok, sorry for the slight delay. The cartridges held us up a bit but I am being told by my injection molder that the job is complete and I can start picking up this afternoon. With that said, I have boxes and bubble wrap all ready to go and shipping will begin tomorrow. There are about 70 packages I need to get out and I will work through them as fast as I can over the next 7 days. Thanks again and I can't wait for you all to start receiving these and seeing what you do with them :)

    Will there be any extra?????

We may be able to do another run of Jag console colors in the future, but don't count on it for a while :)

Hoping it will be a clear blue shell............

  9. My shots don't seem to hurt anything. I think I shot down the Falcon once, but usually the Falcon goes "through" my TIE and retreats the other direction.

I am flying to the left. Does it matter?

nothing happens when you shot them down to the left....... if you go back and forth (left and right) then it seems to work to the right.

Game play is to the Left. This is a hack of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Salem are you back working on this? Would be a good title to have by this Christmas with the new Star Wars movie coming..........

  10. Okay, I downloaded Stella onto my new laptop and tried this ROM.

What game is this hacked from? It appears newly programmed to me.

Yeah same here.....I'm not sure what is suppose to happen too!

I'm thinking its not a hack game also. Doesn't look like anything else I've ever played - closest would be Star Wars: Death Star Battle.

  11. Sorry for the long delay between updates. This version adds music during gameplay. According to Wikipedia "The first video game to feature continuous, melodic background music was Rally-X". So I figured I had to add it. This is the version Al showed a few weeks ago at the Classic Gaming Fest in Austin. As always your feedback is appreciated.

any new news on this one Ed????

  12. I may have a few extra, as I did order some overage, but will have to see how the final #'s actually work out as I don't have that info in front of me at the moment. We did sell around 600 carts and about 150 consoles so the demand was quite a bit more than I was planning, but hey, that's a good thing.

Another update on production. The injection molder had an issue with the carts not being filled in correctly with the polycarbonate in the machine they were planning on using to make those runs and turns out had to remove the tool from the one machine and will be placing it in another machine with some different operating specs that they tell me will be able to finish the job (something to do with having two cavities on the cart tool), but one that is currently committed to another job. They are telling me it will be spoken for until Friday of this week or Monday of next week at the latest. Once it frees up they will finish the cart run. All consoles are done at this time waiting on the carts.

Will there be a possible 2nd run of clear shells? Or maybe a run of a different color soon???

  13. STAR WARS: Vader's Revenge

Han Solo Has The Stolen Death Star Plans aboard the Millennium Falcon and Darth Vader needs to stop Him at any cost.

You are Darth Vader in his custom made Tie Fighter trying to shoot the Millennium Falcon while avoiding Asteroids, Alien Space Ships and other Space Junk.

Beware Han Solo is an Expert Pilot and he won't go down without a fight!!!

Beta Test this game and let me know what you think!!

just found this one................is there no scoring?

  14. OK, how in the hell do I get the title screen to display something? I've been battling this for an hour and haven't got the title screen to display ANYTHING!

    Same here......

  15.

Eventually down will spin the roulette wheel, but I haven't got that far yet. The six digit score will display the amount of money you have to bet with.

I'm aiming to fit this within 4k, but will use more space if need be.

Can't wait until you add the wheel for this!
