I think I charged a guy $15 to fix this once. Similar type of TV.

I think modern games just suck... they're crap, there's no plot... it's just all based on graphics. I could have said that though comparing half the games from the 90s with Pool of Radiance from the 80s... but I think it really holds true today. Developers are more about building a good engine and spitting out a game, rather than having something with complex puzzles or story line.
Escape Goat 2 came out this year; did you try it?

First game had that great Yuzo Koshiro soundtrack, too.

To me that doesn't look like dot crawl... I think you are just seeing the color gradient in better detail in s-video over composite.
I think so too. Notice that the checkerboard dither is still there in the composite image... just blurred heavily.

The one that looks like a Super Nintendo gamepad that has been shrunk and installed onto a modern gamepad is one such example even though it's marketed for the Wii U.

That one incidentally apparently has a neat feature. It's a Wii remote and a Classic Controller all in one so it's a fully wireless Wii Classic Controller. No need to tether to a Wii remote like with an official Classic Controller.
I looked into that one. I was interested until I read about the cheapo battery and half-hour playtime.

Doubt it. It's not a Classic Controller, after all.

I just added an s-video (and composite and stereo) jack to the rear of my jaguar. Does away with the need for specialized cords.

ROM files? Grab the GoodSNES set or something off Usenet or a torrent site.

You're talking as if the system will never be hacked.
I bet by this time next year, it'll be a matter of FTPing the files across.

Looking at a controller pinout, it seems pins 5, 8, and 15 are unused. I imagine he just ran the audio over that, no?

I imagine anything with a decent SDK would be what you're after. Xbox, wii, 360… look at all the homebrew software available for 'em thanks to their SDKs.

Good video, I keep my stuff rather simple and just use Excel spreadsheets with C/I/B columns.
C/I/B?
I also use a spreadsheet... started out in Excel but I moved it to Google Docs for portability. I don't record anything other than the games' titles, except for NES, where I'll also list the publisher.

Could someone please make a recommendation for a good pinball game for the PSP? Thanks!
Williams Collection! It may be missing some of the tables that're on the console version of the disc, but it has Space Shuttle, Taxi, and Whirlwind.

Sonic and Worms aside, yeah, those games were crap.

KOF was good! And between it, Sonic, and Worms, I didn't need to lug my GBA around.

I thought 3D Land was great... but the New SMB series has always felt like a soulless imitation to me, from DS to Wii U.

Am I the only one that misread this as The infamous "Tandy Gravy" ?
-
Any chance it was an RPG such as Phantasy Star 4 or Lunar?

I'm a bit old-school. I just use a handful of Excel spreadsheets with some basic counting and summation.
I do the same, but now I keep it on Google Drive so I can access it anywhere. Really useful!

I watched a video earlier and in it the individual brought up a good point: If GameStop can pay money to get in on the development process for exclusive pre-order incentives, what's to say Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, etc., won't?
Again, happened, Mortal Kombat. Eventually the dev decides they don't want to limit their profits and everybody gets the "DLC". Just going to have to wait and see if this is any different than the past six years or so.
-
Nope.
You even need a special cable to get the headphone stereo to the 32X.
Oh yeah, I had it backwards... it's the 32x audio that can be fed through the port to the Genesis, and then out the headphone jack.

IMO the two cheapest/easiest retro consoles to go with that still have a high level of quality are the Sega Genesis and PlayStation 2. The Genesis has a ton of action and platforming style games, so you won't need to worry about dead battery backups, and the PS2 is new enough that all the hardware generally still works. Games for both are cheap and plentiful, particularly if you aren't overly concerned with having the box and manual.
Oh yeah, $10 goes a bit further with a Genesis than with a SNES or Dreamcast.

You'd have a lot more fun with a Dreamcast or SNES.

Anyone got the PS1 SCPH-1110 flight stick?

Anyone play Colony Wars with this? What's your preferred control set?
