$200 isn't just a good price point; it is the price point. I bought my Wii U as a Nintendo refurb at the start of June, and it looked brand new. Not a scratch or fingerprint (that's now changed, oh well). You'd never tell if it weren't for the different box it comes in. NintendoLand even comes in a sealed retail case. I recommend the deluxe refurb package if you're looking to pick one up. Comes like so:

Yeah, post #7, but there are so many more that do 3D without the benefit of a second CPU on the cart. Sounds like my job.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Yeah?

Retron 4 (console for snes\nes\genny etc)
Rex Dart replied to cimerians's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Vector Tanks is a different issue entirely. If you read that Nintendo link, you'll see that they already view your Retron as an illegal game-copying device, and opening it up to play random ROM dumps doesn't change that very much. -

Yup, that's what I was referring to. That was fifteen years ago. I don't think it could happen again. -
Retron 4 (console for snes\nes\genny etc)
Rex Dart replied to cimerians's topic in Classic Console Discussion
On what grounds? How would it be different than an AtGames Firecore or a Dingoo? I think the days are gone where you could shut down an emulator just for being an emulator. The loading of random ROM dumps probably just isn't in their plan for the device. As somebody who owns the consoles, carts, proper TV, ROMs of questionable origin & who is in no way part of the target market of this thing, it's kinda fun to sit back and watch their attempt at bringing XBOX One-style phone-home always-on methods to something as old as NES carts . It's bizarre! And to think people laughed at the n-gage. -
I don't know, $200 has always been a good price point for me...

Has anybody tested any of the SNES Kirby games (Dreamland 3, Super Star) on the new Retron? They were always tricky to emulate at full speed on anything other than a full PC. -
Any reliable unofficial memory cards for the Playstation?
Rex Dart replied to Ross PK's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Or a PS2. You wouldn't need the extra memory card reader, but you would need a way to load Free McBoot. It's a little janky, but it works. -
Not sure if I will be there this year, but knowing an AA member will be giving a presentation helps a bit. I know last year was their first attempt, but it was pretty disappointing for the price... little more than a vendors hall with sellers you could totally patronize the other 364 days of the year.

I'll withhold "____ saved the wii-u!" comments until Smash Bros has launched, buuuut.... I'm pretty sure that this console is more of a Dreamcast than a PS2 if you get my drift.

Guess they ran out of stickers. But it works great. Even in the absolute hottest area of my Texas home, in the sunroom next to the CRT. edit: in the summer
-
Right, it's because they didn't get the FCC approval and so were not approved to state that it works 100% just fine. But it does anyways. See how that's a sticker? The manual makes mention of a CDX adapter.

Understandable; I'd be pissed (both kinds) too. There's the old warranty of implied merchantability that says that an item for sale, unless otherwise stated, can be expected to work. But if they specifically stated "tested and working", then it's refund time. Hopefully they'll play nice (this time around) and you won't have to leave negative feedback. Bummer, because that one's pretty good on the 3DO.

I don't know what you're trying to say but I'm pretty sure it's incorrect. There is no overheat risk that I'm aware of, and I've certainly never encountered it.

Yeah, check these out and tell me if you think the Genesis can handle 3d. No additional chips required (I'm looking at you, superfx chip). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qofonsN3Nwc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sXgFmZ-tM0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4j5HinyVHgM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQxU2CIVb3c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pt2CIjFRwU Don't know about full games, but Ranger X on the Genesis had wireframe animations between stages. I think Elite on NES was all wireframe (because it's Elite).

Any reliable unofficial memory cards for the Playstation?
Rex Dart replied to Ross PK's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Don't buy this mother____er! There were certain games that it just could not handle... refused to save Megaman 8, for example. Just buy a (or several) official 1st party card, they're cheap online. I have a Dexdrive, though I haven't used it in ages... was great when my PC had the necessary port. Theloon, any idea if the Dexdrive works under any modern 64-bit OS? -
Why do 16-bit light guns look so ridiculous?

Also, the Menacer was modular and could be stripped down to this vaguely pistol-like device: -
I only got a Wii U last week, but I believe you can hack the Wii U's software-based Wii mode similarly to an actual (old) Wii. Then I assume you would be able to install one of the media players available & play your videos. edit: Of course, since it'd be in Wii mode, it would be 480p at best.

Mario Kart 8 (Wii U) New Super Mario Bros U (Wii U) Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD (Wii U) Yeah I got a Wii U.

I started off questioning why World Tour Racing is such garbage...
Rex Dart replied to Clint Thompson's topic in Atari Jaguar
I dunno, Atari Karts always reminded me more of a hi-color Wacky Wheels, or the SNES version of Street Racer. They're both 2D, unlike that DOS port's polygonal courses. -

You can determine how many GB are used by looking at a stack of discs? Impressive! Still, I promise you that no DC game is 4GB. Also, FAT32 is completely capable of holding a 1.2GB file. Hey you made front page!
