  1. Sorry, but your computer is trash and is in need of repair. V0.17.1 runs fine.
  2. They won't destroy 'em if they think they're worth $100 a pop. C'mon.
  3. Well, the problem is on your end. Both unpack & run for me. Are you using Windows' built-in zip handler or something? If so, use 7-zip instead. Also, it seems highly unlikely that there should be a virus in a 400KB java app or any of its associated text files.
  4. Buy it! I paid $15 back when it launched. It has that crazy Japanese PS1 style that you don't really see anymore. You start out as a pomeranian or something, fight your way through ruined city streets, and unlock other playable types like chickens, chimps, and dilophosaurs. Oh, and mandatory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85cL1HisrNc
  5. I had no idea this was still around. Might give it a try since my gaming PC is temporarily dead. Any idea if they offer a trial?
  6. Get an Everdrive? I was playing the latest beta last night on mine.
  7. Maybe I wasn't clear. Why not try using your PC trackball with a PS1 emulator on your PC? That would theoretically allow you to use your trackball with the PS1 versions of these games, like you were wanting to do. And... terrible. I've tried playing Tempest with both a NeGcon and an UltraRacer, and it's no good. The game isn't designed with them in mind (though they are supported), and only responds to a small section of the wheel's entire range of movement. You wind up having to tweak the wheel just a tiny bit left or right of center, and it just doesn't work very well, at least not for Tempest.
  8. It's plastic. I know because I had to drill a hole in mine to install a new power jack.
  9. I seriously doubt this will work at all with actual hardware. Why not try an emulator?
  10. "Just left and right" is how Tempest works. But yeah, it would've been cool to see your idea included as "beginner mode".
  11. Anybody playing it with a trackball? Seems the next best thing to the actual arcade game, but then I've only played the arcade (and the digitally-controlled home imitations). Seems that I have to throw $100 at an Atari system to get it to play Tempest, so I'm wondering if that should be spent on the Jaguar (rotary controller) or 5200 (game and trackball).
  12. Voted "no". I can't stand these euro/amiga styled games where you can't tell the foreground from background because everything is some gross gradient intended to hide the shitty art behind WOW-LOOK-AT-ALL-THAT-COLOR. That goes for you too, James Pond.
  13. Yes, absolutely. That should be your first move. But only 90% or higher. Any lower purity than that and you might as well spit-shine the contacts.
  14. http://www.realhotstuff.com/ Not sure if they ship to Canada, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't. I've ordered from them in the past and it's always gone well.
  15. Finally! Gonna open it when it arrives? I'd like to hear how it works.
  16. Forty-one percent?? That's gotta be 95% alien-infested at least.
  17. When shipping costs are combined. You're welcome, <----
  18. It's an acronym for Open Up Your Ass. I have no idea why anybody would pay money for one.
  19. Disable that chip first. Test it, see if it needs more help, and if so THEN fiddle with connector pins. I went straight for the pins & regret adjusting them. Too tight now.
  20. First things first, look up how to disable the lockout chip. It's the cause of 90% of NES troubles.
  21. Let me speak from reality, rather than fifty-cent fantasy land, here. You paid about as low a price as can be expected from a physical store. Yeah, people claim "oh that is worth 50c", but good luck finding a seller who agrees. That said, you can do better if you buy them in lots online. Don't waste too much more money on $4 commons.
