Electrocop 7800 mentioned in international interview
Rex Dart replied to DracIsBack's topic in Atari 7800
Wish I could program 7800; I'd make Electric Cop be a shooter starring a taser-happy cop. Not so fast, grandma... BZZZZZT! -
Gotta admit that I'm shocked to see Enduro mentioned about every third post. That game seemed so bland & empty of any variety to me. What am I missing?

Could you buy me Ninja Golf?
-
Too pricey, honestly

See here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here.

The Wii does have an excellent 7800 emulator, though.

Now that's just Overkill

Yeah, it's incredibly simple and definitely worth the time if you've got wonky paddles.
-
← Yeah, the current Dig Dug tune throws off the whole feel of the game somehow.

Luckily, nobody forces you to play by their rules

I was excited back when I played it to death on my original xbox. My 360's ethernet port is fried so I can't go online.

Best Indie Games of the Last 5 Years
Rex Dart replied to Metal Ghost's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Your rules are wacky. I'm nominating Longbow Digital Arts' 2000 title Treadmarks because it still rocks. -
Haven't seen Kickle Cubicle mentioned so far; that one can't cost much now.

Cracked? I got a 7800, ONE layer of the thinnest, half-popped bubble wrap surrounding it. Thing was shattered. I sent it back with as many chunks in a ziploc bag as would fit, so the seller could see what they'd done. What a tard!

Quick question: "Jtagging" an X-box?
Rex Dart replied to save2600's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Eh? Just flash the DVD firmware if you only want to play copied games. Homebrew's the point of the JTAG hack. Now if your choice of homebrew is a USB HDD game loader... that's still homebrew -
I never use my DS anymore but how is the homebrew scene?
Rex Dart replied to ComputerSpaceFan's topic in Emulation
Actually, Quake 1 runs fine on a stock DS. Quake 2 needs the extra RAM. DOTT and Sam & Max both work excellently, too. -
Why do people misuse the term MIDI in regards to games
Rex Dart replied to Arkhan's topic in Classic Console Discussion
To answer the question, it's probably because the method used in old games is so MIDI-like. This description of MIDI from wikipedia applies to actual MIDI and old games alike: While old games aren't specifically MIDI-compliant, they're sure MIDI-like. Now please, tell me all about how wrong I am -
Try emailing my nightmares, they're full of these robots

Looks more fun than Bubsy!

Haven't read the three pages of whining & whatnot, but get a $2 s-video to composite adaptor.

I don't see what's Nazi-like (Nazi isn't an acronym) about pointing out the irony in your name.

I will be watching this thread...

Yeah yeah, I must've misunderstood where he was going with that. With "How many Nintendo homebrews get released each year compared to Atari ones?", were you suggesting that those dozen or some homebrew games show that the 7800 is currently more popular? I mean, I guess it's more popular to program for, but in what other respects? I'm curious if the general gaming public is aware that Atari made any consoles other than "the atari", and possibly the Jaguar. You'd have to limit it to retro gamers, I guess, and even then awareness isn't popularity. I think the 7800 homebrew scene just shows which system has room in its library for more titles. Not much sense in writing a burgertime clone for NES when it's got Burgertime. That's probably part of the appeal of programming for the 7800, too... filling those gaps in the library.
