Have you tried replacing that one resistor (R11 I think?) with a 100k potentiometer & adjusting the brightness? Not sure if it's R11, but it's discussed in that topic.

Now now, that IS how the majority of laptops in the world are treated.

It's up.

Beamrider's probably my favorite 2600 game out of 'em all, followed by: Frostbite Robot Tank H.E.R.O. Kaboom! Chopper Command Funny, I never got into Seaquest or that one-dimensional Freeway. All the love here for Spider Fighter and Megamania make me think I should check those two out, though. Did ANYBODY like Oink! or Skiing?

That's pretty bitchin'. I wish I understood it

How do you think they became rare?

Should I Be Searching Intellivison Auctions for...
Rex Dart replied to SpaceDice2010's topic in Atari 2600
Hot damn, good ideas. I can't believe that I used to search for "nintindo" and "palystation", I've seen coleco & intellivision carts sold as "atari", but haven't thought to search coleco, intellivision, and junk like "atare" for Atari carts. Shows how new I am to collecting these... -
Yeah, I usually play Robotron 7800 on my Wii using the classic controller since I don't have a better way to play it on the real deal. Through a homebrew emulator of some kind, or have they released it as a virtual console game? Either way, I'd like to give that a shot, sounds good. I play it on my 7800 with a sega genesis gamepad in my left hand & my right on a genesis arcade stick. I do love me some 7800 Robotron though, damn. Such a good version.

The point of hooking it up to a monitor is to view the game being played... surely composite video could be added easily if it's not already supported.
-
Absolutely will not work. Probably would on a PS3, though.

There are far, far too many carts that've been stored next to the lawnmower & are full of grass clippings. And please, please, nobody tell me how those wirey.... body hairs.... get into the carts.

You plugged a long cord into your TV's antenna jack and are surprised that it receives a signal...
-
Probably the same as what Target does with returned cosmetics, old books, broken electronics that the manufacturer won't take back, etc... thrown into the industrial garbage compactor & turned into a nifty brick of crap.

Play some damn Dig Dug! And what plans do you have for that poor, innocent RF modulator?
-
Well... crap. I guess it's time to pull out the magnifying glass and fluorescent lamp. Good thing I only put the RF shield back on one of the two systems I modded. Isn't it funny, though, that two systems with this mod are showing the same graphical problems on two different TVs? The only bit that looks better than RF are the nice solid interference-free colors, until you get to the edge & it bleeds onto the next color. I'll check this when I get home, but what're the chances of faulty resistors in my mod causing this? I didn't actually test them before soldering, just assumed the color codes were accurate. Maybe I've got off-brand transistors? I'd like to post the parts I used & a photo maybe, if anybody could take a look later.
-
Both, actually. 25" CRT and 42" LCD.
-
Man, I just completed (the revised version of) this mod and I've got mixed results. Solid colors look great, nice and solid and consistent, but edges between colors are pretty ghost-like. Also, the picture seems extremely motion-blurred. Ballblazer exhibits the blurring and ghosting pretty badly. Pixel colors seem to bleed over 2 to 3 pixels to the right. I can post a photo of my solderwork later, but does anybody have any ideas as to what's going on?
-
I just modded two last night, and the metal shielding makes no difference.
-
Would it be possible to rig something up through a 7800's expansion port?
-
Well, in general I can't stand fake woodgrain (looks tacky as hell), but I agree the woodgrain ones looked better than the Vader. It just looks like an older VCS whose woodgrain sticker or whatever has come loose. I'd probably prefer the Vader if it had come out first, though. I do prefer the look of the Jr model, the 2800/Sears II, or most any of the clones to any of the "classic" shaped VCS systems.

Here's my vote for the USB Sega Saturn-styled pads. Work great on the PS3 too, by the way. Far better than those crappy Mad Catz SF4 pads for SF4.

The problem with European developers, however, is that they tend to make European games. Yikes.

What game is most sought after among everyone here?
Rex Dart replied to shining slade's topic in Atari 2600
Halfsies: https://www.atari2600.com/item--Mr-Do!--PROD644.html or $8 on eBay. Add shipping and it's still around $15
