  1. Nothing wrong with Dig Dug II; I used to play that for hours. Rainbow Islands, however... it was no Bubble Bobble.
  2. The FDS disks in the photo suggest that it's compatible with the FDS. Is this correct?
  3. So what you're saying is that developers have had ten years to come to grips with the 360 hardware, and you're not totally wowed by the first round of games on new hardware. Again, be patient.
  4. I'm not at all suggesting you ask people for binders of bootleg pippin games. Just sayin' it's a property of the console, that's all.
  5. It's too early to say that. The first round of 360 games looked pretty crummy. Wasn't until Assassin's Creed that we saw anything remotely "next-gen".
  6. My only experiences were with the Quicksh*t (it's sh*t), TurboTouch 360 (good but dpad is funkier than Max), and a joystick that included turbo fire. My suggestion is to either get a stick with turbo (like the Advantage) or go the fourscore route as mentioned above.
  7. Picked it up last night @ midnight. Watched the wife play it until I passed out on the sofa. Not sure what I think of it just yet, I'll have to see more. Cutscenes are weird, and the action seems tame, but maybe that's just the starting area?
  8. Remarkably similar to a genesis 3, actually, but with a 32x attached.
  9. I was playing Soul star & Battle corps on my CDX just last night. Good games! Gotta look into getting a copy of Thunderhawk now...
  10. While the question could use some serious clarification, it's pretty clear that the NES can basically do anything that the VCS can, and more. It's a generation ahead, for crap's sake. That said, there ARE things that each does that the other doesn't, and both have a place in my collection/library. For the most part, I prefer the styles of games more often found on the NES.
  11. There are SCART to HDMI adapters. SCART to Component, too.
  12. Didn't care for it. The games took a bad direction after the first two (Mario RPG, Paper Mario). Super Paper Mario was a real low point, and Sticker Star didn't do much to improve on it.
  13. Yup, it's clearly been toned down. Always assumed the reason for the delay was to tone it down so the Xbox one could handle it. This is roundabout confirmation. Hope the PC version survives intact but not gonna hold my breath.
  14. Just looked up a video of Soul Star; hadn't realized it was the "same" as the Sega CD game I enjoyed way back. I dig the wireframe intro, but do I understand correctly that there are no boss stages implemented? That's a shame, those Core-style "mode 7" bits were always great. I see why Germany liked 'em, 108.
  15. Man, those hints are worthless! If you're so dumb you need "clue" they offer, you probably can't read anyways.
  16. On the other hand, I've reinstalled Thief (1) Gold, along with updates like the newdark engine & high res texture mod. Almost forgot how great the game is! Stages can be huge and the guards' banter is terrific. The layouts and audio cues are so atmospheric, which seems to be totally absent from what I've seen of the new game. Save $50 and pick up the original from gog.com.
  17. I thought it was great. I still intend to complete it at some point; I've only finished the main game. It's like... Mario Galaxy mixed with SMB 3.
  18. To think BeOS, rather than BSD, almost became Mac OSX!
  19. I'd say the picture quality is the same. I'm no audiophile though; I can't tell a difference in audio between the two but maybe it's there.
  20. Looks like it belongs in a hospital... and not in a sexy nurse kind of way.
  21. Or... get a set of paddles. Circus Atari is great!
