Ohhh that's not been my experience -

Also, we're way fuckin' behind on our space program. We're supposed to be having space battles by now. -
Wishing for Vintage Packard Bell Master CD
Rex Dart replied to Anuextreme23's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
I used to have one in this style, I think it was the Legend 420CD or 405CD or something. Pretty sure we threw out the box of pack-in discs long ago, though. Kinda wish I'd kept the computer itself; I played so much Doom and Keen and Mechwarrior on that sucker. -

Oh, but they do. You just need a really pointy object. -
Hey remember when they called it laser gates

Need some info from people who had the Jag AT LAUNCH...

Hey now, careful where you throw those accusations... -
Do they allow you to slap in any old HDD now? Used to be that you had to spoof some sort of hardware ID to get it to work, if you weren't using a one that MS sold ya.

Eat it; it's probably food. -
Wow thank you for stating the obvious!

Mario Kart Arcade Grand Prix Deluxe - has anyone played this?
Rex Dart replied to keilbaca's topic in Arcade and Pinball
That sounds about right, then. Can you still play as a Tamagotchi? -
Probably extremely similar, if not the same. I imagine this mod does the same internally to produce the composite output.
-
Well... No Beamrider, No Sale
-
Owners of an s-video modded system can simply pick up an under-$5 s-video to composite adapter since composite is basically just the two s-vid signals combined. I've found that the picture obtained this way is typically better than your usual composite output on the same system. This depends on how you're obtaining the composite in the first place, of course... it may not beat a fancy mod board's composite output, but it generally beats a system's built-in composite if they have it.

Everything except relying on boosting through straightaways. I don't recall the previous two depending on that so much. -

Is this the new (third) one? I've played the first two, but I haven't seen the latest one yet. -
I dunno, man. When I was starting up my collection, I kept hearing people say "Oh, that one shouldn't cost more than $1"... but nobody was willing to sell for $1.

I think it makes it look extra toilet-y.

Elder Scrolls Online (played beta)
Rex Dart replied to cimerians's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I imagine it'll become free-to-play once they've duped enough early suckers. Like that Conan game. -
I don't think they're that awful! In fact, these are the first two ports/versions of the two games that I actually bothered to play through and entire round of stages in. Sure, they could sound better... the arcade originals could sound better... but I think they stand up alright on their own merits.

I have nothing to contribute other than 1) the usenet idea was terrific, and 2) there's nothing jerky about clarifying one's position and reasons when necessary. Good luck in your info hunt. -
What are you playing on 3DS?

Have you tried Bravely Default? There's a demo available. -
How do you say 'nope' in Chinese?
-
Hmm, one could certainly be engineered. I wonder if it had an additional set of connectors in there to actually space the CDX further apart from the 32X? I don't know how else it could actually do anything... like hold the two systems far enough apart to allow the CD door to open easily. If it were nothing but plastic, it seems it would only obstruct the door even worse.

Time to press reset. Playing the Jag classics through from the start.
Rex Dart replied to Gunstar's topic in Atari Jaguar
It's not outstanding, but it's a good Battlezone-esque tank shooter, if you like those. It's worth the small price it generally sells for.
