  1. Yeah, 1990 CD-ROM drives are why I left mine open to "expandability" down the road. The time just wasn't right, yet.
  2. Basically, the X68000. Or a less-neutered version of Sega's current (at the time) arcade hardware than the Genesis turned out to be. Something X68000-like, at any rate. Carts. Expandability. 12MHz+ CPU. 4MB RAM. Should be able to crank out some primitive but playable 3D.
  3. I don't think I've ever seen a pinball that didn't reset the table after a game ended, unless a ball was stuck or something.
  4. "Cheapest headphones you can find" pretty well fits the headphones the topic creator used in this experiment. I realize the Game Boy is no 24-bit Denon rig, but there are a lot of chiptune DJs out there that would suggest the hardware deserves a closer look than dollar store earbuds can provide. And if you're going to bother to conduct an experiment, try to do it right.
  5. Pretty sure the eBay user agreements say differently, unless the action is specifically set up with a "make an offer" option. Was it?
  6. The value of the flash cart is that it'll run on the actual console, and the actual carts will play on the new hardware. If it won't run on a real console, then why bother with any specialized hardware over the PC you already own?
  7. Wonder what ebay would think of that admitted side-deal. Is that message in your ebay account's inbox?
  8. Have one on my Wii (that and xbox are my go-to emu boxes), never got it working.
  9. From the same era as Gauntlet Legends, there were Dance Dance Revolution machines that could load/save from PS1 memcards, and Atari's own War: Final Assault had PIN codes for saving characters/scores.
  10. What's the max rom size, I wonder? There are some cool-but-large hacks out there.
  11. It means 100% that it's reskinned Haunted House with crappy looping bgm
  12. Imagine if Archimedes was "pretty sure" that a submerged object displaced its volume rather trying it out.
  13. Yeah iphone buds are trash. I hate working near people who use them. If I can hear your crappy pop leaking out, then you're missing out on some audio.
  14. Thank you for your humanity; it's flippin' miserable to work that day.
  15. How about some halfway decent in-ear monitors like the Sennheiser CX 300? Dollar buds are trash.
  16. Cute toy. Hook it up to a monitor and you've got a poor, non-tactile keyboard I guess.
  17. You know, change the topic to board games and it would be a tough decision for me. As much as I enjoy my multiple boxes of Talisman & its expansions, I would really enjoy a full digital version so I wouldn't need to sort ALL THOSE CARDS.
  18. You Don't Know Jack 2015 - PS3 Power Stone - Dreamcast Project Justice - Dreamcast
  19. One hundred and six (excluding duplicates), according to my spreadsheet. Or you can count them yourself:
  20. You can always yank the upper screen off. Can't find the link now, but somebody did one that actually looked decent... filled in the gaps with custom-cast resin, I think.
  21. That's the thing... we aren't talking about somebody who just wants to see what the items look like. Neither coin collecting nor game-playing are about simply seeing what the item looks like. But it's true that if you don't want to collect/play/use either one, then scans and youtube are fine for a quick "oh, that's neat" before moving on.
  22. Well, you can have it display on the (sharper) top screen if you like. Is the problem the same on either screen?
