  1. Hey gang. It's been a while since I've posted on here but I have this problem now and so here I am...

I fired up the old heavy Sixer and it no longer works. The only thing that displays when I turn it on now is a black screen.

What's the problem? How can I fix it? I assume it's a fried TIA but I'd appreciate hearing from any of the experts. Thanks in advance.

    Blaster

    Super Zaxxon

    Pastfinder

    Up N' Down

    Karateka

    Crystal Castles

    Mario Bros.

    many, many more

Thanks for your interest. Auction ends tomorrow at 5:00 EST. Cheers!!

  3. It doesn't matter which system sells more. It's not about performance either. Consoles need killer apps. No killer apps = no sales. To me, Switch has the potential to bring back an era of killer apps. The focus should always be on multi player, simultaneous enjoyment. This console looks like it's purpose is to create sociable gaming. Lame marketing aside, Switch looks very fun.

  4. We had a 2600, I was first introduced to Atari in '82. I never owned a 7800 back in the day. My brother and I were given a Gyromite NES for Christmas in '86. I played on the NES and would also play on the 2600 up in my room by myself. I remember being able to play one game of 2600 Mario Bros for many, many hours in one sitting. Atari was always cooler to have because everyone had one and it was way easier to trade games.

  5. Everybody is different in terms of what they look for. Whenever I used to come across big collections like this, I would pick up as much of it as I could, pick out all the cherries and buy extras for trading. When I came across this pile at the retro video game store last week, I was strictly thinking about grabbing stuff for trades on account of the fact that I already had copies of all of these games. Furthermore, I try to only grab games that are worth playing because (lets face it) some of the old VCS games really stink to play.

  6. So I have managed to further test the busted gamepads. The right buttons are non-functional. I tested each with the difficulty switches in either position and the results were the same. I'm now not sure whether it is the cord or a resistor. I don't own a voltmeter so I am not sure. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

  7. Ugh. I went into the same place today to see if they had anything else. The clerk pulls out their cherries from their selection from behind the counter and asks me which ones I wanted. IIRC they had Private Eye, HERO, Star Wars Arcade, Montezuma's Revenge, Inca Gold, Dragon Treasure, Master Builder, Beamrider, a few other Sellers carts, all loose.. They wanted $200 for the bunch. A bunch o' medium rares. I was completely annoyed.
