You are in Saskatchewan and you ask if the Americans are uncultured? HA..!! HA-MUAHAHAHA..!

A freakin' 8!! Hands down. Total no-brainer. The 5200 was merely Atari repackaging their amazing computer technology so it could compete with Coleco and Intelivision. Just post your A8 wants list in the WANTED section. There are alot more A8 collectors that you may be aware of.

"Atari reboot"-front page of the L.A. Times Business section
birdie3 replied to orangest's topic in Atari 2600
Numerous companies have had tons of brands that they keep rolling out year after year (i.e. mario, zelda etc..). Atari missed that boat back in the day. Hopefully they can pull it off. EVERYONE on Earth knows the brands so I am sure they will do well as long as they are able to keep people interested. -

It seems a bit silly to sell this, especially on ebay. It's too bad that the original owner does not want to hold onto this sort of thing.

Discuss Atari History with Nolan Bushnell

Thank you for the interesting answer. I, as well as I am sure many others are looking forward to seeing the latest incarnation of Atari succeed in it's future endeavors and eagerly await what you are describing. It was an amazing thing as a child to have experienced the electronic video game arcade phenominon during the early 80's. Many people I have discussed this notion with feel that people who were fortunate enough to have been alive during such a unique era in electronics and culture experienced something truly amazing and feel that something similar will probably not occur again for a very long time. -
Discuss Atari History with Nolan Bushnell

G'day sir. It is truly a supreme honour to have the opportunity to speak with you on AtariAge. Many of us here are among your biggest fans. You have said that you are very interested in new game mechanics (i.e. iPad, Wii controller etc..). I can only imagine what it has been like for you to vicariously watch the industry over the years up to this point now where companies are finally appearing to think outside the box once again. Given that you are a proven innovator in your field, would you care to elaborate on any ideas you may have about the future of video games in this regard? -
Nolan Bushnell Appointed to Atari Board

Hopefully Atari will become interesting again. Here's to the thought that they will. -
I posted in the "Wanted" section a few weeks ago that I was looking for Brazilian Multicarts. This gent here PM'd me a few days ago saying he had what I was looking for and subsequently sent me a pic of the ones he had. Unbeknownst to me until this afternoon, he also had them listed for sale here. I had initially PM'd him immediately saying that I wanted them all and I did not hear back. I PM'd again a day or two later and he tells me today that he sold alot of his Brazilian carts for a good price to one buyer and then attempted to discourage me from buying the ones he had left. Oakillie-Doakillie there pilgrim... I have seen this kind of tactic before. Either you have games for sale or you don't. Don't offer them to me and then sell them to someone else after I have agreed to buy them from you.

Sent you a few PM's.

Holy shit. HOLY SHIT!! Freakin' wicked game, dude!! I am dumb-founded and amazed.
-
I still don't have this either.
-
Hey all. I do see these from time to time on ebay but I figure maybe a few people might have a spare one for me. Usually the multicarts I see are not home made and are from South America. These are the sort of things I am looking for here. I have lots to trade (NES, SNES, Gmaeboy, Colecovision, Atari, more) and paypal works well for me too. Please send me a PM if you can help. Thanks!!

Is there a pre order list? Hahahahahah!!!! Laughed my nose off!!!!! -
OK. Good point. I appreciate you helping me to clarify this doubledown. I have changed the description to more accurately explain exactly what the buyer is getting. It now reads: "...2 professionally refurbished consoles (infamous SN74LS541N controller chips have been professionally socketted and replaced with brand new chips)..." Once again, thanks for your assistance doubledown. *WHEW* The last thing I need is for someone to publically make this auction look bad in front of potential buyers especially considering why I am having to sell some of this stuff. The refurbished consoles actually work great and I have never had any issues with them since the repairs. The repairs were done through Torbram Electronics in Kingston, Ontario, Canada if anyone is interested in contacting them about it.

As some of you probably already know, I lost my main job last month and am still looking for a suitable replacement. I have decided to sell some of my video game spares and was hoping there may be some interest from the folks here on Atari Age. I have a couple of really nice Colecovision lots up for auction. These are literally "instant collection" types of lots so for anyone who was looking to get started, now is your chance. Here is the link: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZpeejay26QQhtZ-1 Thanks for looking.
