  1. Imagine that. I have kids and my dad is a Mormon...... (maybe I know what I am talking about)?? Oh well!! I guess the only person to ask is Nolan Bushnell. I suppose he would know considering Atari was his idea. He is a Mormon too by the way folks (seriously). Does anyone else have any more insights into this topic??

  2. Video games are actually a portal to hell. What you view on the screen is a snapshot of hell that you actually get to control temporarily. Programmers are actually magicians that have learned the art of accessing hell and all of its illusions. Don't be fooled by how fun it feels to play these games. Its actually a big test devised by satan. Beware the possessed machines!!! Has anyone seen the logo for the new PHANTOM console that is supposed to be coming to the market soon?? (I am joking so please laugh here...)

  3. Hello,

I order from Best Electronics from time to time. They usually give me a catalogue with various items on it and last time I checked, they sold the controller for sure. They also have alot of games that they dont list on the site because their stock is constantly changing (apparently). Phone them and ask, or email, or whatever.... They didnt list 7800 Basketbrawl and I bought that from them like 2 weeks ago!! Either way, that company rocks. Good luck and sorry for the apathetic post, gang.

  4. I just picked up this game and it works perfect... for about a minute. After I start playing, it will just freeze and the graphics (as well as what ever the sound out-put is at the time) will just lock up and I have to reset the machine. It will then work fine for about a minute and then repeat. All of my other 7800 games (15 or so) work fine except this one. The cart is clean and the system works fine. Would anyone confirm that this cart is faulty or otherwise what appears to be the problem??

  5. I beleave that what you have uncovered is totally possible. I was contemplating a newspaper ad myself but I coudnt think of what to say. Do you have any suggestions on what one might say in an ad so to convince people to start calling to GIVE me their old Atari stuff? I am quite curious.

  6. Good score man!! Hey, I havent been collecting more than 5 months. I found a NTSC Master Builder for $1.50 Cdn. Also, my flea market supplier sells me 4, 5, and 6's for anything from $1-3 every week. We all have great finds. I think the days of the dream haul is over. Those took place in the nineties. I guess it depends on how hard you look. I have been from Ottawa to London across Ontario and I have manged to score about 150 different carts in 5 months. I have only used ebay once and this was when I first got started because I did not know where to find Atari carts. I am looking forward to the yard sale season 2003!!!

  7. I have two joypads which I received from best-electrioncs-ca.com about a month ago. They really are the "best". I paid $15 (US) a piece for them, which actually turns out to be a good price considering everywhere I checked. Best also sells a SEGA cable converter so you can use all of your SEGA controllerson the 7800. I'd get that if you want something to allow you to use the SMS gun.

  8. Ok. I thought I had this problem solved but its back. Everything is fine for a while, the games play fine for a few weeks and then I put in a game that I havent played for a while (2600 Alien) and bang - unstable video with rolling images and perfect audio with every cart (2600 or 7800). This has happened a few times now. Eventually the 7800 will just start to work again with no adjustments or anything. Totally baffling. I am wondering if I need to clean the contacts inside the console. I have opened the unit up before just out of curiosity, but I must say, I dont really know what to do or even worse, where to start with fixing my machine. I need some serious help. This is really starting to tick me off. Does anybody know if my machine is faulty or what??

  9. This is helpful.... I had never thought of International versions that were programmed in NTSC. I have viewd the DP guide and I notice there are alot of doubles there (ie: label and company repeats etc...). You could say that I was too lazy to go through the list and cross out what I have and count the remainder. I am curious because I rely mainly on wild finds. I started out my 2600/7800 collection just in the past few months and would say that I have done fairly well so far. Mainly commons to start, however, I am getting to where I have learned more about what was released and I am having a harder time finding some of the titles in the wild. Like most collectors, I also want some of the harder titles to find. I don't like ebay and I have faith that I will eventually find most of what I am looking for in the wild. The emulators are confusing and I don't have the patience to screw around with that-maybe I am missing something but they don't seem user friendely. I have a MacOS 8.6 G3. I guess I am just trying to get a feel for what I am realistically up against as far as wild finds are concerned. I have found a few stores in Ontario that sell Atari games but they are greedy and sell for way too much.

  10. Hello. I am new to the trading scene here so I am just going to test the waters and see what happens. I have a few games that I am considering trading and want to see if any one might be interested:

  11. I am nobody special to most of you here but I just thought that I would add a bit more to this thread. Cybpunks is exactly right in saying that a finished product effort/Rob Fullop designed game is a HUGE selling point and although it may be something that requires effort, it will be something that we as fans would totally appreciate far greater than having to buy an unfinished game. You may also choose to just complete this game by yourself and not bother with help from another programmer to avoid hassles like the one we have witnessed in other recent topics. I tried to say earlier that the average collector like myself doesn't care about unfinished games or prototypes. There are also many who do. I know for a fact that if I saw a BRAND NEW Atari game cartridge released in 2002/2003 on a shelf in Toys-R-Us, I would buy one for sure and so would everyone else that still has an Atari sitting in their basements. There is a huge retro gaming market right now. ("DUH!!" says the self-proclaimed Atari community). The flea markets are the ones making a killing off of all of this. We like fun, playable, good games that were meant to be played. Why make this a political event?? The guy has a game that he wants to have appreciated. He wants to know what we the fans want. There are alot of people who would prefer to own collector's items as opposed to owning a fun game to play. What is your preferable goal Rob?? Will you realease a cool finished game that is ultimately what most people want or will you leave it the way it is and make a smaller group of hardcore fans happy for a little while?? Hey Rob. Is this even a good game?? Will we enjoy this game?? Based on what else you have given us, we automatically assume this one is good too.
