  1. FF6 was the best by far....I think that series lost something when they went to more realistic graphics...
  2. Yup, it's a boot and a BAD one at that. I'm giving him 48 hours to give me my money back, or I'm reporting him to eBay.
  3. I'll definitely need one of these when it comes out! Looks awesome!
  4. Great. I'm the guy who won this auction...I should have known better. I'll let you know whether the game is legit when I get it.
  5. Even better...what's the status on the Super Game Module?
  6. The PSP has a great screen and fantastic potential. Unfortunately, Sony is totally wasting that potential right now. There are no must-have games for it right now, and none on the horizon (I don't consider a GTA game to be a must-have). My PSP sits around a lot and only gets pulled out for the odd game of Pac-Man Arrangement. The DS gets a lot more play - Mr. Driller, Kirby, Super Mario, and my GBA games are currently getting a lot more play than anything on the PSP.
  7. Actually, a lot of them are just enhanced Genesis games, which is the knock against the 32x. Most of the games for it are good, but the enhancements aren't usually that much of a leap beyond what the standard Genesis can do. (Or for that matter, what the SNES can do). Good 32x games: Shadow Squadron Mortal Kombat II Kolibri Knuckles Chaotix Virtua Fighter Virtua Racing Deluxe (The best version of this game, bar none.) Spiderman: Web of Fire After Burner Space Harrier Darxide (good luck finding this one) Star Wars Arcade (well, I liked it...)
  8. I'd reccomend what the others said, plus Captain Quazar, Immercenary, and Foes of Ali. Oh yeah, Yu Yu Hakusho is good too.
  9. Worst. System. Ever. It combines all of the worst features of all of the worst systems: blurriness of the Watara Supervision, sound of the Channel F, game selection of the Virtual Boy, and control on par with the CDi. Terrible, terrible system, which is too bad because Tiger made some nice handhelds. Yes, I realize I'm being harsh, but it's really THAT BAD.
  10. I'll throw my .02 in too. The DINA sucks. You can't hook standard Coleco controls to it and some games (Mouse Trap, etc.) are unplayable. I had a tough time getting mine to work at all, and later traded it for a real one.
  11. I bought this today, and it's really good. The emulated (ported?) games are excellent, and you can even play the vertical monitor games in their proper format by turning the PSP longways. Also, the "arranged" versions are NOT ports of the arranged arcade games (which have been released before on the PS2 and NGC). They're all new, and the Pac-Man one is especially fun. The Galaga one has a new power-up system that I really liked and the Dig Dug and Rally X ones are good too. The only downside is that some of the games are a little questionable. I'm not sure why they put Tower of Druaga, Motos, and Dragon Buster on the compilation. I'd have rather seen Gaplus, Metro Cross, and Super Pac-Man, (or maybe a more obscure Pac-Game like Pac-Land or Pac and Pal.)
  12. I loved that magazine, but they really needed a US and/or international version, and if it comes back, they need to make the disc optional. That damn DVD raised the price to nearly $20 USD and usually had a lot of worthless stuff on it. The magazine was awesome though!
  13. The Utopia boot disc doesn't work perfectly on all DC consoles because some of them are more flaky than others about CD-Rs. You're better off spending the $12 to get a DC-X or a Cheats and Coades disc because they are pressed GD-ROMs and will work on all consoles. Also, if you're in Europe, the DC-X also has a hidden feature which allows NTSC games to be played on PAL TVs.
  14. I heard the report too. I remember reading an article back in the day that referred to John Romero buying some silicone "mods" for his girlfriend (Stevie Case) with company money. Always thought it was funny that breast implants were referred to as "mods".

    Lightgun question

Yes, nut have you ever used them with a Japanese light gun game?

    Lightgun question

Just a strange little question. Does anyone know if you can use a US NTSC lightgun with a Japanese (NTSC-J) game? Specifically, I'd like to play House of The Dead on the Sega Saturn with my US gun and a Japanese copy of the game...
  17. I wouldn't call the PSP an all in one device. Sure, it plays movies and MP3s (doesn't everything?) but it's a game machine first and foremost, and Sony has marketed it as such. That's like saying that the PS2 is an all in one because it plays DVDs. Gizmondo has no chance in the US. Zero. Zilch. Tiger Telemetrics should shut down now and cut their losses. I believe it was either Bill Gates or J. Allard who made the statement that "You must have at least $100 Million in the bank to be competitive." and they were absolutely right. No one in their right mind would compete with Sony or Nintendo right now in the handheld arena, which is why Gamepark never released the GP32 in the US and even Panasonic refused to bring out their handheld which they had in development. This thing is the second coming of the Zodiac Tapwave, but at least the Tapwave was also a Palm organizer that didn't cost anymore than a regular high-end Palm. (That one had a chance, but it's distrobution was terrible.) I predict that you will NEVER see the Gizmondo in US stores, and if you do it will last about as long as the NGage did. Better pick one up for the collection because it's destined to be rare.
  18. I love the NGPC. Cotton, MOTM, and the two Metal Slug games make the whole system worth it. I would avoid most portable Famicoms though. I've owned a Game Axe and a Game Theory Admiral and neither was very good. Bad screens, bad battery life, and the Game Axe was just plain flakey.
  19. There's a ctually a whole vglq sucks website: VGLQ Sucks!
  20. The Vectrex is one of my all-time favorites! Definitely pick one up!
  21. It's hard to say that any of the Castlevania games are "cult classics". (With the possible exception of Rondo of Blood) SOTN sold very well and even had a "Player's Choice" version. To me, a cult game would be something like Hermie Hopperhead or Jumping Flash.
  22. Worst: 5200 Stock controls, Colecovision, Intellivision. The Panasonoc 3DO controller is also really bad, and might have helped kill that systems. Best: PS2, Xbox Controller-S, SNES
  23. He promised to remove that stuff when the game is officially released though...
