There's a Gamecrazy near me that had a copy of Gunstar Heroes for $5. Too bad they sold it...that's the best game on the system...

I love my CD32....It's quite different from most other consoles that I own in that the games have a definite Euro feel to them. The controllers are pretty cool and I love the compilation discs that you can find. There are some great games for it Super Stardust, Chaos Engine, Mean Arenas, etc. It's too bad that it's so hard to find NTSC units that are complete.

Oh boy...this list is going to piss me off, I can feel it.
Yep, it did.

I like Tomba...there are better 2D platformers for the PSOne though. I think Skullmonkeys and Klonoa are both better, and Adventures of Lomax and Hermie Hopperhead are WAY better. I never understood why Hermie never came to the US...

Wow...this is some terrible news. All of the old-school game companies seem to be dying...

I have one, but it needs a power supply and controller...I'll sell it cheap though.

Of those three, I like the ColecoVision the best...Although I have multi-carts for the Atari 5200 and the 7800, and it's easier to get games for those two.

I think that Baylisters is one of those "drop off" places for eBay...so they may have no idea whether it's real or not because it isn't their item...

Hilarious!

I really wanted to go with Phantasy Star, but then I remembered Part 3...ugh...so I had to go with Final Fantasy. It's had more installments than most of the others on the list and only one of them (
was ever terrible. Ultima was up there, but that series died with such a horrible abomination (Ultima 9) that I couldn't bring myself to vote for it. At least Final Fantasy 8 was palyable... -
PSP is easily the best looking, with the GBA SP NES version clocking in at number 2. The PSP looks like it should be part of Darth Vader's armor...

That guy is a pretty talented artist, though...check out some of his other stuff...

VF4: Evo is the greatest fighting game of all time. VF2 is still incredible, and you can't say that about Soul Edge.

I have that game, and I used to have Duke Nukem 3D. The less said about Duke, the better.

Just as a general guide: I paid $150 for a new boxed Amiga CD32, and you can expect to pay $5-25 on eBay for the games...

The biggest reason Nintendo didn't make the SNES backwards compatible was economics. Their fear was that since the NES had an 85% market share, that third parties would not make games for the new system in favor of making games for the system (NES) with an already installed (and gigantic) base. They had already seen a similar phenomenon with the 7800; Atari was really the only manufacturer to make games for the 7800 (there were games from Activision and Froggo, but no one else really) and companies continued to make 2600 games.
The market was very different back then. Keep in mind that when Sony included backwards compatibility in the PS2, video games had already been VERY well established as an entertainment medium. The market could be predicted more efficently, and there was more awareness on the parts of gamers about new technology. Also, gamers had gotten older. In the Nintendo generation, the majority of gamers depended upon their parents to buy games for them, and most of the parents wouldn't have seen or understood the difference between the NES and SNES. Now, the average gamer is 29 years old and buys their own games, and they definitely know the difference between a PsOne and PSTwo game.

It's called a Segway, BTW...

I like the Coleco Wico sticks too...I had them when I was a kid, so I still like them...
-
I actually like the Inty II controllers...the buttons are a bit looser...I really wish I could find a Wico stick...I think I'm the only one who likes them.

They pulled 'em all. eBay doesn't like people trying to get around their fees.
-
I always expect to pay a bit more on a BIN...I think of it as a service charge...

What was the deaal of NOT showing the actual game graphics on the boxes> Were they hiding something??Remember that even actual screenshots weren't ACTUAL screenshots in those days, most of the time....

I was wondering that, myself...I think he doesn't understand the Atari market. Looking at the auctions that people have actually won, his prices are very reasonable, but they generally aren't for Atari stuff. (He did sell a RealSports Volleyball for $3.00) Most of the things he actually sells are 5-10 dollar SNES games or PSOne games.

I, for one, can't wait to see this thing...

Yes, it had excellent sound.
How could you leave Blazing Lasers off of the list? It's one of my favorites!
