Video Game Characters Who Can't Hold a Job
J.Max replied to NovaXpress's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Pac-Man has had a lot of jobs, too. And a lot of relatives. My question about Pac-Man, though, is this: what was Ms. Pac-Man's maiden name? -
Hey! That was my auction...and I do yell a lot in my auction text. Otherwise, people don't ever read it!

FS: MATTEL HOVERBOARD - Back To The Future Prop Replica
J.Max replied to Ferris's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
You should probably try and sell this on the RPF or ASAP... -
I am so tired of dealing with idiots and jerks on eBay...I have received two negatives in the past 2 weeks for the following: 1. The most recent one was a guy who never paid. I asked him nicely to pay, then filed an NPB. Well, he must have done it to some other people too, because he now has a feedback of -4, all from non-pays. His comments on the negative were "don't want". I'm trying to get eBay to remove this one...we'll see what happens. 2. I also got one from a guy who claimed that 2 out of 3 controllers that I sold him didn't work. That would be OK, and I would have given his money back, but HE NEVER ASKED FOR IT BACK! No attempt was made to resolve the situation. I have also had a lot of problems with people not wanting to follow simple instructions, such as only paying with Paypal, and just a lot of general rudeness. Is it just me, or are people on eBay getting more obnoxious and harder to deal with? In 5 years on eBay, I've never had more problems than I have had in the last 2-3 months.

Funniest thing is that it says it belonged to her husband's GRANDPARENTS...man that makes me feel old.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 This one has some good stuff in it...boxed Xenophobe, Ninja Golf, Mat Mania, and a bunch of others...

Someone else beat me to it...but I think it should be called Al*Bert.

You know, I don't think it has as much to do with the shop itself as it does with some of the "Comic Book Guy" employees. There's an EB Games not far from me where the employees are actually good...they know me, and they know that I know more about games than they ever will, so they stay out of my way. (Sounds snotty, but I've been playing video games since before some of them were born). On the other hand, there's a mom-and-pop store that has one of the worst and stupidest employees I ever run across. An unfortunately, it looks like they made him a manager. It has a few helpful people too, but this guy is a total douchebag. He acts like he knows everything, but he spouts off ridiculous statements to people like "Nintendo is going to make games for the PSP...I have inside info!" Dumbass. The funny thing is that they had a giant stack of 5200 games there one day, and he had no clue what they were. I picked them all up for about $20, he checked me out and said "You know those won't work in a regular Atari right? I tried and they wouldn't fit." I informed him that they were for the 5200 and he said "Oh, I didn't know Atari made any other systems besides the first one and the Jaguar. They were a really crappy company, don't you think?" Jackass.

Do these eBay programs work at all?
J.Max replied to RickHarrisMaine's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I use bidnapper. www.bidnapper.com -
I have one too...a QD. It's actually a very cool little item, if you think of it as a phone first I love EEMAME!
-
Wow. If this true, this is MAJOR. I'm not sure why this would be a joke...but I'll believe it when I see it.

Priority is a minimum of $3.85...it doesn't matter whether your item is .99 or $1000, it's still going to cost $3.85 to send it.

I'll throw my .02 in since I actually own both... The DS is a very nice system...and some of the titles are innovative. It's nice that a lot of the upcoming titles are 2D, since I think that 2D games have been marginalized. It has it's share of problems though...first of all, the lack of an analog stick really hurts for 3D games, and trying to use the touchpad as an analog controller is awkward at best. However, the biggest problem I see is third-parties not understanding the second screen. Innovation is great, and I salute Nintendo for trying something different, but if they are the only ones who understand how the innovation can help gameplay, that innovation is going to go to waste. Other than Feel The Magic, there is not one third-party game right now that uses the touch screen in any way other than: 1. A secondary display (for maps, etc.) 2. An inventory or secondary command screen Ridge Racer tried to use it as a controller, but it didn't work right and actually made gameplay worse. Untill third-parties learn to use the touch screen properly, it will fail to live up to it's potential. And you can say that it isn't meant to compete with the PSP, but that is a disingenuous statement. If there are two new portables coming out at the same time, of course there is going to be competition between them! To state otherwise is ludicrous, and if you can't see it, you're the worst kind of fanboy. As far as the PSP goes, Sony didn't just hit a home run here...they hit a grand slam. It's a PS2 in the palm of your hand, only with a clearer screen and better multimedia capabilities. It has it's share of question marks as well, but they are releatively minor compared to the huge plusses with the PSP. As I said, I have both, and while I like the DS, it isn't in the same league as the PSP. Against any other handheld, the DS would be the king...but the PSP is one of those world-beating systems that no one could have predicted. It's like comparing the Atari 7800 to the NES. Is the 7800 a good system? Yes. Would it have been more successful if the NES hadn't existed? Yes. Is it a better system than the NES? Absolutely not.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 OK, so I'm plugging my own auctions again...this should be a decent set for someone. I've got a few other items, including a Sega Ages and Rockman World up too.

How could no one mention Bust-A-Move/Puzzle Bobble? That's my favorite, along with Twinkle Star Sprites, Tetris Battle Gaiden, and my newest favorite, Lumines.

I got Chaos Engine and Mean Areans with the system...I have a bunch of CD-Rs to burn for it that I haven't tested yet... It's a pretty cool little console, and it was one of the last ones I need to complete my console collection. (I'm aiming to own every game system ever released in the US.)

I bought AVP, still looking for a few more!

Yay! I finally have a WORKING CD32!!!!!!!! I picked it up yesterday! Huzzah!

If you're wondering about the adaptor I'm using, here's a link: http://www.montek.com/catalog/item117.htm
-
I'm already using a power supply adaptor...I'll probably put the other broken one up for sale in a few days, but I want to get my new one first so that I can test it with a real power supply.
-
Yeah, I know...that's why I feel kind of stupid...I d/led all of the games I needed last night...
-
Never mind...I figured it out...I'm really not this dumb...
-
Hmmm...I'm a klutz with a hex editor...Is there an easier way to do it?
-
To be honest, I have no idea...I threw one away because it started smoking and crackling, which is never a good sign. The other one I'm not really too sure about (I asked about it in the hardware forum) Part of the problem is that I don't have a real power supply; I'm using a convertor cable from Montek electronics called the Powershot so I'm not sure if it's my PS or the system itself. Real power supplys for the CD32 are nearly impossible to come by.

Question: What format do the 7800 roms need to be in to get them to work? The ones I got from AtariAge don't seem to work, am I donig something wrong?
