  1. I have a friend who has an original Atari 800 that back in the day he had expanded to 64k ram. Ballblazer, one of the best Atari 8-bit games was released labeled as an XE title that was also compatible with the 800xl. I head from a guy that Ballblazer required 64k of ram to run and that's why it was incompatible with the original 400/800, but since this particular 800 has 64k is it possible to get Ballblazer running on this machine? Is there something else that would prevent it from running besides ram? Has anyone played Ballblazer on the original 800?

  2. I spent yesterday on atari's (Infogramms) website trying to figure out how to contact them. They have gone out of their way to make this as difficult as posible. Instead of buying more old used joysticks off of ebay I figured I might be better off Asking Atari if I could just buy like four replacement joysticks off of them. Dose anyone know Atari Supports E-mail address?

  3. There should be a white tag on the bottom that says something like "MFD. BY ATARI INC., SUNNYVALE, CA"

The power adapters are somewhat rare.

So if it says "Mfg by Atari Inc. Sunnyvale CA" its the American made model? The other VCS that I saw was made in Taiwan and said "Manufactured for Atari Inc. by TRW electronics. Usually on most things that I see there is also a lable somewhere that says "made in x".

Is there anywhere else on the system where it says anything about it if that lable happens to be damaged? Or at that point would it have to be opened up to determine origin.

Or can you determine the date and location of its manufacture using its serial number. Can you do that?

  4. Hi there, I'm new to the forum.

I'm currently seeking a heavy sixer that was made in Sunnyvale CA. I have a 2600 jr. that I've used for a long time but never a VCS. I really want an original American made heavy sixer.

How do I determine if it is indeed the American VCS? Is there "made in USA" somewhere molded on the plastic or on a sticker? Was the heavy sixer made in Japan or only USA and Taiwan? And finally are the American made power adaptors rare? Iv'e seen American, Japanese, and Taiwanese ones. What is the rarest and the most common place or origin for the plug.

What would be a reasonable price for one without a box?
