I'd have to say that's a steal! But I disagree with your estimation they are cheaper as a unit. In fact, I believe they are harder to find than the Atari branded ones.

I think it's fine to use what you want to play with, as long as there's no competition. But in a sanctioned competition, I think it should always be required to play with original, 1st party hardware, no matter what console you're talking about. I love the Slik Stik. The short throw is great for twitch games. But I can just about as easily play with the CX40. The CX10, while a beautiful piece of art, simply has too much throw for my comfort. I've used the Genesis controller a couple of times, but it just doesn't feel right on a 2600.

Here's where you want to post: http://www.atariage.com/forums/forum/46-wanted/

I recommend that you post a WANTED in the marketplace here on the forums. You'll be pretty well guaranteed that you won't get shafted, and that the equipment will work.

Very good deal on a TG16 game to help start my collection. Thank you, Arkhan!

"prospects not good" Just a question; why such a statement, when really what people here seem to want is a reset and a rethinking of the gaming industry? I don't think the industry is going to die, or be "reset", but I do hope to see a different type of pricing, based on the games being delivered, and NOT to see DLC all over my new $60 games. I could deal with DLC if they charge me $20 from day one, then DLC here and there. But not $60.

Ask and ye shall receive. I've never actually had a sales thread, people just keep asking me for stuff and I usually have extras. I got 90% of my Intv collection to cmart and revolutiinika. They are good guys, and very knowledgeable. ... and their bickering I'd always funny to read!
-
Revolutionika and CMart have to be the most OCD Intellivisioners here. They're always bickering like little winnies about who's is bigger, and whipping them out to show all when the opportunity shows its face. ... whipping out their collections. But I'm sure if you wanted them to whip anything else out, they'd be happy to oblige.

So the idea is to get all 7 notes without getting caught by the Slender Man? That's a pretty simple premise, it looks interesting for a short, scary game.

I don't have a Vectrex, but I bet the imager is even rarer than the console! -
Selling Off the Good Majority of My Collection
SlowCoder replied to 27ace27's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Damn. Beat me to it. -
Yes. A cool geek manager.

I haven't seen a wild 2600 in years. But I think the Vader would probably be the most likely to pop up of all the models, except maybe the Jr.

First, good video, and I'm happy you got something you've been looking for. Second, thank you for calling it a VadEr, and not a VadAr!

How about Shadow Warrior? SiN?

I think that would depend on what the OP's definition of "forgotten" is. Is it forgotten, because it's old and not many people play it any more, or forgotten because it didn't have wide appeal? If it's the 2nd definition, then I'd ask why it didn't have wide appeal. Was it good, but low-budget and didn't get a lot of ad time? Or was it a piece of crap that deserves to be forgotten? Not a FPS, but Hugo's House of Horrors was an indie adventure game of the same type as the Sierra series of games. Could it have made it on store shelves if put next to Sierra's stuff? Probably not, especially at the same price point. But it was an excellent game as it was, and well worth the time to play. If this thread was about DOS adventure games, HHoH is one of the games I'd definitely list.

I loved the original Dark Forces. Played all the way through it at least 3 times. Lost the disc, though. Probably let a friend borrow it.

Mr. Wizard takes apart an Atari 1200XL
SlowCoder replied to DesertJets's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Thanks for sharing that. That is a series of shows I never got to see as a kid. I think I need to do some YT digging for Mr. Wizard! P.S. I think he lost the fire button spring. -
The auction says "ready to play", but I see nothing mentioned about what's included, and nothing shown in the pictures. Therefore I would assume "console only". As NTSC, these consoles are not worth more than $40 combined, if that. Would PAL be worth much more?

Yeah, Unreal was not a bad game, nut I think it was overshadowed by Unreal Tournament. In Unreal, I remember feeling quite alone. A lot of empty space and forbodingness. Now that you mentioned Heretic, I may need to pull out my DOSBox and play a round.

I'm at 59% completion on this game, and am now at the mystic's hut. She throws symbols in the air, and I have to press the corresponding controller button. The goal score is 400. Well, dang it, I have been trying to get past this point for a few days now, and just can't do it! I have only gotten to about 225 score. This is my 2nd time playing through with this game. The first time was a couple of years ago. Both times, I'm stuck in the same place. This means that I'm missing 41% of the game due to this seemingly simple "challenge". But this challenge doesn't even seem to fit in the story as far as I can tell. Grrr ... Anyone have any ideas on how to get past this challenge?

Its detailed in the thread I gave you. Mothers aluminum polish for the silver part. 91% alcohol to clean connections, and dielectric grease for lubrication.
