Alcohol has gotten the job done for me on discs like this in the past. I would think your chance of harming the disc are very very small. You always have to weigh removing the ink against the chance that you ruin the disc. Sometimes it just isn't worth it.

If I was starting out - I would buy an Atari 7800 (can play both 2600 and 7800 games), a bunch of games, a couple of six packs of beer and a big bag of Cheetos.
Thats a really good place to start. The controller for the 7800 is crap but if you know the right people you can get a sweet modded NES pad for not very much and that would go a long long way.

Gots to have two people that want to play to make that happen. I have friends that game some, but not enough for me to count on someone to get through the game with me. Also, a higher than average number of the people I play with online are MLG and I just get sick of hearing about how great they are and how poorly I play. I can't help that I have a real job and don't get to play games all the time. Trust me, if I could get away with that I would.

I play the games I that I'm dying to get as soon as I get them. The problem I have is finishing them. Super Mario RPG is the perfect exmaple. I'll get well into that game, put it down for a few days and just forget about it. By the time I remember it I'll have to start over because I have no idea what is going on anymore.
I did pick up Portal 2 and have yet to break the seal on that game. I just keep getting drawn to something else.

Savannah Ga hug? Right down the road. Welcome to AA. Hope your auctions go well and your "money problems" pass quickly.

I decided to list another auction. If I'm going to get ride of the extra stuff in my house I really need to start working harder at it, so two auctions this week.

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 280961283674
I'm happy to answer questions here through PM or on eBay so if you need to know something please let me know.

Thanks a bunch. As always I take questions on these auctions here or on eBay. If you need to know anything please PM me and I'll get with you ASAP.

I'm shamelessly plugging another of my auctions.
eBay Auction -- Item Number: 280961227460
Go buy that if you wanna. Bidding starts at .99 and there is no reserve.

I assume you took care of that tricky NES10 problem these things have? That has fixed some very interesting problems for me in the past. If you have disabled that chip you are already beyound the most I have had to do to fix one in the past and therefor beyound my help. Good luck, there has to be someone here that can tell you how to fix this.

I worry a lot about people getting these games, getting bored with them and just throwing them away or letting them rot somewhere. I dirve past places all the time and know there are classic games just rotting in there (mostly flea markets). I also have people tell me all the time they just threw an old NES out or something because they didn't know people still cared. It hurts my heart and is more than likely the reason I have so much extra right now. I feel the need to rescue these items from a certain death. Gamestop adding people to this hobby that aren't really into it can only do harm in this way.

Shows how little I know about this handheld. I didn't even know there was a difference in the lighting on these things. You learn something new all the time.

Sorry for the vague title, but I didn't know another way to list this.
I found these videos from a tape in the 90s about Street Fighter II combos and tips. Looks like something you could have picked up to help you learn advanced stuff back in the day to show off at the arcade. These videos are 100% 90s and I would love to find more that were made like this. I'll link to the first, all the others are uploaded by the same guy and very easy to find. I haven't had time to watch them all yet, but I must have more.

Take a look, link to more like this if you can.

You sir know an official ton about these things. I had no idea there were so many. Let the search begin.

I finished college debt free, and when I was done I just decided to stay that way. So far so good. I have never had, nor to I intend to have, a credit card. I have been able to pay cash for every car I have purchased so far as well. The side effect is I don't have a lot of credit, but I don't really have a lot of need for it either. I'll need it to buy a house, but a sizeable down payment will help with that too

I have a good friend that is big into sports cards. Talking about cards with him the other day reminded me of these Donkey Kong trading cards I saw a while back. While looking into those I found Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat, and Nintedo trading cards. This makes me think there were more out there. I have seen cards that looked like the belong to another arcade set or something that just didn't fit with the other listed collections. Oh, I think I found a set that was all from Dragon's Lair too.
Anyone here into these? Am I missing any sets that I should be looking into? I am sure I'm going to pick some of these up sooner or later. If nothing else I do love me some Donkey Kong.

I'm not sure about VB stuff. I like the console, I own the console, but I don't get into it much. Its a litteral pain in the neck to play.
I got those bits for free when I placed a large order to build 2 MAME machines for some friends. They were instantly handy as I needed them to remove parts from the machines I was working on. I don't do much work on home consoles so I can't speak to that. I have become very interested in working on arcades and keeping these machines alive. The information to do this seems well protected and hard to find, not to mention very technical. I have looked into going back to school for electric engineering just for this, but the cost is just too high at this time. Maybe one day.

Most carts I buy I get loose anyway. I have many boxes, but the cart is the main thing I look for. If they have a good selection of loose games and reasonable prices I might snatch up the common stuff that I normally pass on for shipping reasons. Who knows, there is a very good chance they mismanage this thing and it ends up costing them more than they make.
-
Strange to me that people get so worried about being outed or having something snatched out from under them around here. I have never understood it. I think of myself as a pretty "into it" collector, but I just can't go so far as to worry about people conspiring against me when I win an eBay auction... just sounds too gamer mafia for me I guess.
Nice pick up. I'm sure you can enjoy that for a long time to come.

I picked up a set of bits from Happ Controls a while back that were great. Alas I believe my buddies wife may have thrown them out the night I left them over at his house. It was just the bits, no screw drivers and all that, but they were all well made and worked great. I'm sure I'll end up ordering another set soon enough.

I appreciate your input! May I ask your guys' advice on how I should go about changing this thread? Would you recommend I edit the current thread to state the $125 price tag or should I start a new thread in the marketplace? I haven't spend an abundent amount of time on the forums, so I may need a little coaching to get it right!

If you were a subscriber I would just tell you to edit the first post. Alas you are not so you can't edit that far back. At this point I'm pretty sure all the major players on the board know you are selling this, and probably know what you would take for it. Let it roll, or start a new thread for it, either way should really be ok.

Like Benny said, some are rare because of the cost, some are rare because they are truely hard to find.
I have a CIB Coleco Gemini that seems pretty rare in the "you don't see them" kind of way. In terms of things you find in the wild I have many rare items, and even more rare accessories.

the vectrex, its the closest you can get to an arcade machine!
Not true. The Neo Geo AES is as close as you can get because it is the same thing.

If you want to get even more invloved the CMVS would be even closer, as it is arcade hardware. The CMVS is custom work, so I'm sure it doesn't count in this conversation.

Well said and explained better than I could have.

The wanted sub-forum has done great things for me both selling and buying. I like that place the most.
A sub-forum for MAO threads would be sweet. Those that like to make offers could just hangout there and stop making counter offers on everything people list for sale.

PS3 controller on PC
in Modern Console Discussion

Any emulator that doesn't just suck out load will let you change the controller set ups these days. I haven't had a problem with an emulator and the 360 controller yet.
