  1. I went to the what I think was the first PhillyClassic in 2001. Picked up what was the first Intellivision homebrew game (4-Tris). Sold a lot of things for way too little. Had a great time. Really would like that type of experience again.
  2. It appears to be back up today. I wonder if they were updating the info on the first page. I also wonder if anyone is interested in splitting a two-pack of Paddle Party.
  3. Just made aware of this thread. Sitting 75 miles south of Pittsburgh for last 18 years. Thrifted the 'burgh back in the day. Would love to have a local/regional show. Mike from Morgantown
  4. Speaking of homebrews -- Is anyone having trouble reaching Classic Game Publishers' homepage?
  5. Anybody here close to Pittsburgh? I would be interested!
  6. I wonder if these were offered early on, during the test period and some of the sales afterwards. I bought my Intellivision new in Spring 1982 and do not remember receiving anything like that. This could have been what Mattel set up before it had its own service centers in place. I wonder if any former Mattel employees/BSRs could shed light on this.
  7. Do we have a price on the sets yet? I am interested ... but also watching my game spending.
  8. I would rectify my errors. These includude throwing away original boxes, passing on a multiplexer at $25 (because I wanted it to fall to $20), trading away spare rare games for less than their worth (I.e., Stadium Mud Buggies for a Videopac cart, WS MLB for a 2600 Sweedish cart, etc.), not selling my INTV boxes (not sure if it was William Moeller or Michael Hayes or Chad Schell who got Spiker at PhillyCon 2001), not underselling hardware spares, etc.
  9. Thanks for the updated information. I look forward to playing the games when they are completed.
  10. The "fun" in Space Battle and Sub Hunt lie in beating the games on progressively higher levels. However, as has been noted, once that has occurred, the games have limited reply value. In that way, they are precursors to many of today's video games.
  11. An issue with AT Games is distribution. Sometimes it is very hard to find their products at retail. Also, beware of prices. The Atari Flashback 4 is $80 at the AT Games website. I got mine for $30 at Family Dollar. (And it was as low as $25 last year).
  12. I find it funny that everyone hated the thumb pad ... But the NES D-pad (and all the controllers of that type which followed and imitated it) are much closer to the Intellivision than the joystick of the classic era.
  13. It is unfortunate that the parties could not reach an agreement through arbitration or that another programmer could have been found to finish the project.
  14. This looks so much better than some of the early versions. Glad to see it has progressed. Cannot wait for the official release.
  15. I am not saying this game was considered bad when it was released, but the clerks at Games & Gadgets (which became EB and is now GameStop) tried to dissuade me from buying it back-in-the-day. How often does that happen?
  16. Accountability is good. I think we all agree on this. However, this is a disagreement between two entities (individuals/groups of individuals) whom we all support -- or at least enjoy their products. It is also a disagreement that really does not need to be detailed in public -- or debated by those who are not a parties involved in the disagreement (unless brought in as a neutral, third-party arbiter). After all, if those who know what is supposed to be happening can't agree on things, how do any of us really know what is supposed to happen. Personally, I feel that all will eventually be resolved in some way, shape or form and we will get a lot of great games to enjoy. Mike from Morgantown -- writing from Pittsburgh
  17. I think I still have a set of those unopened. They really were not that useful ... at least to me.
  18. Alex When was the book last updated? I think I have a file from you previously.
  19. I am thinking of the number entry for the problems. From the INTV Funhouse: The allegedly older version of this ROM has you enter answers in "pencil and paper" order, while the later versions have you enter in "natural" order. From The BSR (Intellivision Lives): Initially, the solutions for math problems had to be entered ones column first. For example, when subtracting 5 from 24, the solution, 19, would have to be entered as 9, then 1. While this was designed to duplicate how people solve problems with pencil and paper, many customers complained; intuitively, they wanted to simply press in 1 then 9. A running change was ordered so that later copies of the cartridge use this intuitive method of entry, instead. I have one of the ROM variants, I am looking for the other (I will have to check which, but my guess is that I need the pencil & paper ROM).
  20. That is odd because Schell Electronics usually has a low defect rate. My Intellicart still works -- even though I now have to use a USB dongle and Windows 7. I wonder if the MicroSD card went bad.
  21. Which ROM variant is that? Do the numbers enter left-to-right or right-to-left?
  22. Does anyone know how many variations there are of Space Battle? I have English, French Canadian, Japanese, and German. I have seen Italian (but have not purchased it). (Plus all the US variations -- Red, Blue, Sears, INTV).
