Just remember that what we consider screen shots were actually artists conceptions 39 years ago. Looking at the picture, you can argue for both artwork and TV picture.

Looking forward to the pre-order and the games already per-ordered.

What homebrews planned for next 6-9 months?
mdoerty replied to TrickyMoon's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Homebrews are either made in a limited number or have to be bought months before release. have always found that Homebrews should be ordered early so the stock does not run out. And running out of stock can happen on the commercial side. I pre-ordered a game from NewEgg to get a discount, only to find they had discontinued it and not filled my order -- and the only way I found out about it was to contact the company. -
Sears controller vs. Intv2 controller
mdoerty replied to grips03's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Remember though, the Sears had its own BIOS and would block out the words "Mattel Electronics presents" -
Finally! (CMart's latest cool pickup)
mdoerty replied to cmart604's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Nice!! I passed on one of these at $25 back in the day (1983 or so). Was waiting for it to come down to $20. By the time I had a change of heart ... it was gone. Prices have gone from high to out-of-this-world. (Got a Wico Controller from the same place ... as well as the business' test cart for $2 and a copy of dealer info). Mike from Morgantown -
As probably the only person here in WV, I can say that is not funny. I can also say, given the state's obesity problem, that seeing someone of that size (though hopefully not in that state of dress) is far more common than it should be in the Mountain State.

I will be in when it is time to be in.

Adapter to Use Atari Joysticks on Intellivision
mdoerty replied to boxpressed's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
They only replace the standard controllers on the CV. They don't function like the SuperAction Controllers. -

Wico made controllers for Intellivision and Collecovision. The Command Controllers were the same except for internal wiring. -

Games that should have been made for Intellivision
mdoerty replied to mr_intv's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Cosmic Avenger and Omega Race. I loved the idea of Cosmic Avenger and it was among those announced but never released. I remember Omega Race for Intellivision being advertised in a Musicland (Sam Goody's) sales paper. I went to the store -- knowing that the game did not exist on the off chance my info was wrong. But alas it was correct. I did get the CV versions of both of these games for my Adam (and took them back when the Adam failed while writing a term paper in college after a month and a half). Eventually, I got Omega Race for the C64 but I had to wait until I collected games to play Cosmic Avenger. Mike from Morgantown -

The clerks at Electronics Boutique tried to talk me OUT of buying Turbo for the Intelly back-in-the-day because it was so bad! Mike from Morgantown -

VGChartz, the website which provides free data on video game sales and has a mixed reputation, released a feature on the best-selling Atari 2600 games. http://www.vgchartz.com/article/250871/the-best-selling-atari-2600-games-of-all-time/ It is interesting for several reasons. It has a lower system sales base (27+M) than virtually every other source. It also has some sales figures which do not make sense -- like 820,000 for Custers' Revenge, 630,000 for X-Man, and 470,000 for Karate (the Froggo/Ultravision title). By way of comparison, it lists 460,000 for Circus Atari. I don't know about you, but I have not found 2x as many Custers as I have Circus Ataris. There is also a "complete" sales list: http://www.vgchartz.com/platform/31/atari-2600/ Personally, I think VGChartz does OK on modern historical data which can be verified with corporate reports. I think the weekly numbers need to be taken with a large grain of salt but they are the only data available for free and are probably better on hardware than software (and better on bigger sellers than niche titles). But these Atari 2600 numbers just seem out of what to me.(Many in the Top 10 are in a different order than IGN's from 2008 http://www.ign.com/articles/2008/08/26/top-10-best-selling-atari-2600-games or data on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_games#Atari_2600 Mike from Morgantown

GroovyBee is Groovie to me!

There are a variety of reasons that I collect. I had always stayed up with Intellivision because it was my first system, I had almost all the releases, including all the INTV games, when the "Summer of Carts" rolled around in 1994. While the main focus was bulking up an anemic Atari 2600 collection (50 games eventually exceeded 500), I also starts looking for the two Intellivision games by Imagic (Tropical Trouble and White Water) that had been pulled from the stores before I bought them. (I had a fellow student in grad school give me Fathom in 1988, so while I had never seen it for sale, I owned it). I then learned of three more games that I had never seen -- Super Cobra and Tut, which were never released in the US. Eventually, I found those games in the mid to late 1990s. I went to Philly Classic in 2001 and picked up 4-Tris. I also sold almost all of my INTV boxes because you can't play a box. (Most of my original boxes were pitched when cleaning while in college at my mother's insistence.). I have stayed up with Homebrews ever since. The collecting bug bit in 1994 and I spread out to other systems. I have over 30 unique systems and 1000s of games, including all commercial releases for Atari 7800, Odyssey 2, and Sega Saturn -- in addition to Intellivision. I have at least 100 titles for a dozen or so systems with nearly 1000 games just between the Atari 2600 and NES. So I guess you can say the bug bit hard. Back to the original question, I collect because I Ike to play and because of the fun in finding things. I still remember finding my first cache of cartridges and thinking how wonderful it was. Unfortunately, because of time and technology, I rarely go to thrift stores like I did two decades ago. There is usually nothing there that I want/need/am willing to pay the eBay-inflated price for. That ends my story. I need to get some pix to join the 125+. Mike from Morgantown

I will take a copy -- of course.

Can't wait for this to go "gold" as it is looking so good.

It would be nice if you could cross the ease-of-use of the original Intellicart with the practicality of ate SD (micro) card in the CC3. I would buy that for a C-note.

Please add me to the per-order list. Let me know when/how to pay. Will PM this as well. Looking forward to it, Thanks Mike from Morgantown

I will have to check that again. I was going from memory. But ere was an issue with some of the earlier carts.
