  1. I got the Gen2 games for the iPad. They are a great argument for real controllers.
  2. It was pulled from the market because it underperformed -- in more ways than one,
  3. At the time of its collapse, INTV was beginning to branch out to other systems. It managed to port Stadium Mud Buggies to the NES (Monster Truck Rally) before closing shop. This shows that it was also looking at the Genesis during that time frame (circa 1990).
  4. @Bill L. Do you have any idea when the final game listings will be available (both for the general model and the Dollar General model?) DG has in hype he past run really good Black Friday deals on these ... So I was thinking of going that route.
  5. I think we are probably mostly in agreement here. The "limiting factor" comment was mostly a clumsy way of saying that Activision (and the companies whose IPs it controls) made up a larger share of the Intellivision and Colecovision than the Atari 2600 and Sega Genesis. That's what happens when you try to type on an iPad.
  6. There were compilations of Activision games for the Atari 2600 for Windows - which you can actually make play on a Win 7 machine. There was also a C64 completion. And Telegames did a compilation of CV Activision titles for the PC. Activision really does not know what it owns -- it may have given rights to the Intellivision games to the BSRs. But it is big enough to cause trouble. Not having it does not hurt an Atari 2600 or Genesis library but it is a bit of a limiting issue for the Intellivision or the CV. Still I look forward to the systems,
  7. Excellent. Can't wait to see more developments.
  8. The generally-accepted number for Intellivision sales is 3M. The issue is whether or not this includes post-Mattel sales. The BSRs use the 3M number for all sales. http://www.intellivisionlives.com/bluesky/hardware/intelli_tech.html The Classic Gaming Museum site (IGN) listes 3M for Mattel and 3M post-Mattel. http://classicgaming.gamespy.com/View.php?view=ConsoleMuseum.Detail&id=17&game=9 Honestly, 3 milllion seems low but 6 million seems high.
  9. Shows you how good he is spot get that kind of high-quality display out of a Jag.
  10. Please put me down for one of the remaining upgrade kits. I don't know how I missed the notice. Will be sending PM here shortly. --Edit, now sent.
  11. William and "Soulbuster" Thanks for your work on this. I bought the upgrade kit for DK and I will buy it for OS when it becomes available. Lot easier to justify an upgrade to the wife than a second copy of a game. 8*> Thanks Mike
  12. I think this is great .... I just wish it had been done before I bought the loose version. I will wait for William to send instructions on how to get th manual, overlays, and box (the first two of which are what matter to me). A similar thing happened with the DK releases, so I am sure I can be made whole.
  13. Looking forward to the new games. Whatever they may be. My Intellivision is ready!
  14. Payment sent. Got a Mattel box but looking back, the CBS box is much cooler. Then again, you can't play a box.
  15. I will take one please, Mattel style. Do we pay as soon as we are posted to the list? Thx Moderty
  16. How long after reservation do we have to pay? In other words, if we reserve today, can we pay tomorrow? I have to fire up the computer to pay since I don't PayPal on my tablet. Don't mind doing it. Just want to know if I should start it now or wait til I would normally be working,
  17. Never saw one back in the day. And I remember seeing a videoplexer in the wild as well as a WicoStick (which I bought).
  18. It is amazing what you have done.i cannot wait to buy this game,
  19. I was fortunate in that I starting collecting Intellivision I'm 1982. So I bought almost everything as it was released. I was unfortunate in that my mother had me throw away game boxes several years later. But I have everything with instructions and overlays (except for some Homebrews for which I have mislaid th overlays). But you can't play a box. Other than a few super rare games, most everything for Intellivision can be gotten fairly easily in playable condition. And isn't that what it is all about,
  20. It seems to me that one person is upset with another person because of the actions of a sanctioning body. If you know anything about Guiness Book of Records, it is not perfect. But the posting of this record, regardless of its varasity, brought some attention to the hobby of video game collecting in the general/popular press -- which is not a small accomplishment. And remember, video games are supposed to bring joy. There was about a dozen years or so ago a story of someone (I believe the name was Devin Knight) who basically ruined his life and lost his family because of his pursuit to get all video games. He eventually sold bus collection in total in an effort to start anew, we should all take this tale to heart.
  21. I am looking forward to ordering being open so I can get a copy? And at least the title doesn't have the word "CARTRIDGE" in it. 8*>
