  1. Paid for mine in July and was notified by Zaxon that they would be sent on Oct 27th. So that's almost 3 weeks, but I expect them any day now since the IDE+ 2.0's and Sic! carts took about as long too Jay
  2. Digg'n up an old thread My first were: BC's Quest for Tires, Necromancer and a few other disk based games, also broke into the Apple ran BBS on Guam and downloaded the code before making a few changes and re-starting it
  3. Wish I could afford one to use on my XP, but will have to wait....
  4. Could something have shifted in the case during transit? Sloopy, hope your Son is doing better Jay
  5. Hmmm, no da-donk my guessing and trying all this stuff on several computers, leads,Atari's is leading me to think I have a duff unit? Sounds like something went wrong with that unit...
  6. I have the blue one that I got 54 days ago... eBay Auction -- Item Number: 200649954635 Jay
  7. Actually, I plan on doing both modem types since I have all of the parts required except the connectors. I saw some of the red ones at the parts store, so I'll see if they have a complete set. I saw pics of the top of the daughtercard, but not the bottom. I'll recheck... Nope, no bottom pics in this thread... Jay
  8. When you connect/disconnect the USB cable/device, do you hear the "da-donk" sound indicating detection?
  9. Still haven't found the hand drawn schematic that I think I saw a few months back, but have found the pictures of a beadboard assembled version. I've drawn a rough diagram of the component layout and wiring, now on to phase two and draw a nice schematic from that...
  10. 3M makes a pen that lets you rub on the sticky stuff from "Post-it-Notes"... that could be a good solution?
  11. Could someone point me to the schematic of the daughtercard that uses the TMS99532 chip? I know I've seen it before, but just can't seem to find the bugger. Thanks...
  12. Hmmm, it looks like the 74HC942 is a functional replacement for the TMS99532, minus a few changes. I'll check the local part stores to see if they have some in stock first...
  13. Then you used the 74HC942 chip? I already have the TMSxxx chips and xtals, so I might go ahead and build it with that setup. Now if I can remember where I put that schematic at of the proto modem
  14. Could you post the films of the daughter board? I'll be etching and drilling mine Thanks, Jay
  15. Hang on to the 800 and pass it along to your kids when they are your age Jay
  16. Cart + Box + Instructions = $75 minimum for a rarity of 8 ---This is what I use to calculate--- Cart Values: Rarity - $$$ Value 1 1.00 2 2.50 3 5.00 4 10.00 5 20.00 6 35.00 7 50.00 8 65.00 9 80.00 10 100.00 + 5.00 with Instructions + 5.00 with Box Jay
  17. The basic language is similar, but not interchangeable, two completely different animals (no pun intended ) The Portfolio is a Mini IBM PC, NOTHING Atari related about it... Like I said the early post in this thread, search google and read and learn
  18. The basic language on the portfolio is not the same in the 800xl, hence you can not use one on the other... If you don't know the difference between ms-dos and basic, use google
  19. Think of the portfolio as a portable ms-dos pc, there's nothing atari related about it...
  20. Care to post the complete parts list, instructions & schematic of this updated mod? Looks like all the old pics have been deleted Thanks, Jay
  21. Look half-way down on this page for v1.0... http://www.atari8.co...ts/default.html Jay
