Email Notifications NOT Working?
AtariGeezer replied to AtariGeezer's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Okay, it's working now, but I had to change the ckeckboxes in "My Settings" Under > Topics & Posts [x] Auto follow topics I reply to. Notification frequency You'll see that the [x] Auto Follow checkbox is checked, but all others under this section were not. After I put a check mark on the boxes under the email column, I started getting mail again Jay -
Is anyone else not getting email notifications today? I've missed about 7 messages so far today... Jay

1450 XLD motherboard build, assorted questions
AtariGeezer replied to Vandal968's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
One thing that sticks out is the lack of the floppy board controller Header Connector on the 1400... But otherwise, looks very similar, except for the location of C66. Jay -
Come on, someone out there has to have a spare

Yep, read that before, but may have missed the setup section "From the version 2.0 device started with K4 pressed goes to setup mode" Thanks, Jay

1450 XLD motherboard build, assorted questions
AtariGeezer replied to Vandal968's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
1. I didn't. I bought the programmed chip from Best Electronics. This information is in the BOM along with the price that I paid for the chip and the part number to order. 2. No, different parts, also purchased the programmed chip from Best. 3. If you are talking about U4, it came from a broken 800XL. If you are talking about U6, the blank chip came from Best (it's a standard chip) and I programmed it with the dump provided by Bob1200XL. This information is also in the BOM. If you guys are serious about building this thing, you should really RTFBOM. I spent weeks putting this together, 90% of the work of building this motherboard was figuring out the BOM. Now that it's already been done and tested and given to you free of charge, all you have to do is read it and start building. I'm happy to answer any questions that come up or clarify anything that isn't clear, but I think that the BOM itself is the correct first-place to look for the answers. I consulted the BOM to answer the questions above, the same BOM that I posted a few weeks ago. I used to work with a very-wise programmer who taught me something. "Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. TEACH a man to fish, and he'll be back in a few days asking you to teach him how to fish again." LOL. cheers, c Okay, thanks for the clarification and I had downloaded and RTFBOM that you updated on 8/30/11, but didn't catch the rest from Column "L" to "S" Jay -

@Vandal968. 1) What bin image did you use for U12? 2) Is U7 the same as the XL/XE MMU? 3) What OS rom did you use? Thanks, Jay -

Yep, I've called Bill about 45 minutes ago and he said that too. Told me to call back to see what that guy decides... He kept mentioning that "No pick-n-choosing" all or nothing. Even sounds hesitant for me to just look. How "Bad" of a dissappoinement is the hardware? rotten boxes, dirty or ??? Jay -

Guess he didn't go back for the 2nd load. Just called the guy in Alpine since the ad is still listed on CL and it appears that the Vic-20's, 64's, monitors, disk drives and 40 boxes of C= software are still there... Some guy is up there now taking a look at what's left, if that guy doesn't claim it, I'll take a ride up on the bike and do a physical check of what's left and see if it would be worth while to get. If so, I'll get a u-haul tomorrow Jay -

Speaking of roms, where can one download all rom & pal images for the 1400/1450? I see that Curt has the Salt & Talking Terminal cart roms on his site, but that's all I've seen so far... Jay -
I've been looking for those too, but haven't found one under $200 yet So I've been building them piece by piece, now have 3 working 850's, 830's w/psu and TeleLink I carts, but no boxes and as the II goes, have 3 835's (1 works) with 2 TeleLink II carts... Hope to find boxes and manuals for a decent price one of these months Jay

Looking for 1 of the above for now. If one of you that bought multiple of these from Best Electronics could bare to part with one, I'd really appreciate it Thanks, Jay

If you mean inverse, then yes, it sounds the same as in the normal mode. If you mean something else, then please clarify. Uppercase and lowercase letters produce vastly different sounds, so inverse was a good guess. cheers, v Okay, I was thinking SDRAWKCAB
