  1. they are not very common, easy to find if you have a good bit of cash ($40-$60, from the vulture capitalists on ebay), you can find them for $20 and under if you look tho...

decent game for sure, either way...

    sloopy.

Yep, I found one on eBay last month for $19 loose...

  2. Can you design the board so that it will fit your current cart shells and be transferable to an original Brown cart shell by the user?

I would love to be able to use this in all my Atari home computers

When I get mine, I think I'll use an XE Cart case and shave down the sides just enough for PCB to fit and cut out an opening on the top for the CF Card. This will make fitting into the 800 rather nicely :)

The 2nd SIDE cart will stay original for the XL's and XE's...

  3. I just started learning programming on the XL about a week ago. I suck pretty bad right now but just wait... I'll get good soon! Learning little by little every day. Lots of interesting books out there. Soon enough I will advance from rank "n00b poseur programmer" to "rookie programmer".

That's exactly how you do it, day-by-day :)

Get the compute books, Compute, Antic & Analog Mags on ebay and start typing those programs in. You'll learn to debug your typo's and learn a bunch by reading and typing those in...

  4. Back in '83, I made a cable with two female edge card connectors and fitted/glued the one connector to the back of my original 800. I was thinking that it might be a S100-Bus and would be cool to make some kind of interface for it, but didn't get too far...

Later on I figured that it might just have been connected to a testbed at the factory for a function test of the motherboard...

  5. go to your local used video game store (Game Stop is one thats good), and get a nice PS2 Eyetoy, they are dirt cheap ( $3 here), and drivers are available for widows XP...

(i would suggest the logitech version, for some reason i always get a better pic out of them, then the namtai version... says on the bottom which it is)

    work pretty good...

Thanks Sloopy, will check it out...

  6. Hello Jay

You can find a schematic that someone drew for me a couple of years ago on my Wish list page. Point 23. I've never tested it, but the guy who drew it up reconstructed it from the hardware he owned.

    sincerely

    Mathy

    Thanks Mathy, that's a good start :)

I have one so I could take some PCB shots if you like.

The pics would also be cool to compare with :)

  7. Hi all, Back in the 80's I borrowed a friends' ComputerEyes and made a schematic from it and built my own interface, but I can't find either of these in my old boxes...

If someone has the schematics or good pictures of both sides of the circuit board they can send me, I'd really appreciate it so I can make another :)

    Thanks,

    Jay

  8. I tried a number of SDCOPY.COM files - none of them run from DOS. They just drop you back on the menu. Did you try this program? How does it work?

    Bob

I just tried SDCopy.com and found that it will not run from the Menu, but if you [Q]uit to DOS XL and type sdcopy, it does indeed work :)

Edit: Also, you can enter the [X]tended Command and type sdcopy for it to work...

  9. I found this OSS disk in my stuff. It is DD on one side and SD on the back, files on each side. Bit3 code is on one, DOC on the other. (I didn't actually open the files...)

    Bob

    DOSXLSD.atr

The DOSXLSD.atr has bad data on sector #517 (SDCopy.com), but otherwise both check out okay :)
