Cool find From basic type: print fre(0) this will show your usable memory...

If you delete all the files (except CONFIG.SYS) you should have about 138890 bytes available (total). However, SDX CAR: device accepts only small files (up to 8176 bytes in size). Ahhh, ok... That's what the problem was: trying to add files 9k and larger... Had a feeling that was the case Thanks, Jay

On a good note, I have been able to make an ATR with SicGen and flash it per the instructions If you look at the ATR file, all you'll see is the Sic.bin file when viewing from DOS, the files that you add are stored in the format the flasher recognizes, but are there If you boot the ATR file created by SicGen with the sic cart disabled, you should be able to flash it... Good idea, I'll look into those... Your from Alzey, Germany? ? I used to work up on the hill at the military post Nice area...

Okay, I'll see what I can do about adding a bin header for the basic files For the bugs, I'll do some more tests and see if I can figure out a better way to reproduce them... Thanks...

I've done some further testing with SicGen and SDXImageUser on my XP PC. SicGen: I can only drag-n-drop one file at a time, sometimes a file will not show up in the grid list, while other times it will. Q: Are Atari Binary Executables the ONLY type allowed? I'd like to add some basic or atascii files too... Bugs: If you add a file and haven't saved the rom file, then exit accidentally, the program doesn't ask if you want to save it first. Found that the program can crash if you try to move the rows in the grid list. Sometimes when Loading a Cartridge rom from the File Menu, the contents won't show until you choose the File -> New Menu. SDXImageUser: How can you create a Blank 256k or 512k image? The rom image created by SicGen only shows 8192 bytes left when it's empty. If I load the 256k SDX 4.44 rom image and delete all the files, it still shows 8192 bytes left? Otherwise, How can I create a 512k SDX 4.44 rom with other files on it too??? Jay

Okay, will give it a try... Thanks, Jay BTW, I received my two carts 2 days ago

I'm getting an Access Violation Error when trying to load the existing SDX444_siccart256.rom with SicGen's Load Cartridge. Happens with Win95 or WinXP with Administrator Setting...

What Search Words are you using and what Categories? I've seen about 4 1200XL's in the past month. I even bought one of them... There's also been quite a few A8's, like at least 20 in the past month...

I would also try just connecting the IDE+ without the hdd mounted first. Then if that works, power down and mount the HDD, be sure both rows of pins line up when mounting the hdd... -

Got the clock working 1) I turned OFF APE Time Read in config then saved and rebooted. 2) I turned ON APE Time Read in config then saved and rebooted. 3) Copied Apetime.sys and Apetime.com from the Apetime.arc in the SDX Toolkit to D1: 4) Added to Autoexec.bat: APETIME TD ON Adding device apetime or device ideptime to config.sys just caused an error. Steps #1 and #2 may not be necessary, but that's what got me going... Jay EDIT: typos...
