1088XEL Atari ITX Motherboard DIY Builders Thread
AtariGeezer replied to Firedawg's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Got it working now and it was software related, but, only from user error I had set the SDX size to 192k so I could install GOS. Reflashed SDX, then GOS, then updated the Firmware <- this was the problen as I used a 256k SDX image.. Today I changed the SDX size back to 256k, reflashed SDX and the Firmware. Loader isn't having any glitches now Sorry Jon for thinking you had overlooked something, when I made it wonky -

Here's something to ponder, the stand-alone SIDE Loader for Incognito runs okay and displays the FAT32 contents just fine and even runs all xex's without a hitch. So it's not a hardware issue that I'm experiencing ... -

I received the Refurbed SanDisk cards yesterday and still getting this glitch with the latest firmware: So I tried flashing older versions and the only version that worked with these cards was from June 29, 2017. Both of the Refurbed SanDisk 4GB cards and the Transend 4GB cards will boot to D3: all day long with all of the firmware releases, but only the firmware from June 29, 2017 works with the loader using the 2 different card types... -

I should have asked you first, cause I ordered 3 CF3 PCB's from OSH Park 4 hours ago and IC's last week from Digi-key. Will have to compare what I have to what's on the new BOM... -

It must be some other obscure compatibility issue then after trying a Refresh, since there wasn't any hot-swapping involved... -

Okay, got it. That's why I figured it'd be safer not to hot swap the Transend cards Will keep that in mind with the new cards when they arrive, thanks Does anything stand out on my results of the Transend card? -

The Transend 4gb 133k cards work great on my Side carts and the Incognito 800. These same cards are also recognized with the CF-][ as they boot up ok to the C: partition. I did find that one of them had a bad boot partition, but was able to fix that in windows. The problem with the Loader was that the FAT32 partition didn't have any files on it and I had to Disable "Hard disk" in the PBI Bios Settings for it to work. It still freezes / glitches if I go try the "Refresh disk" in the Loader Disk Tab though... -

Is there a special FDISK needed for the 1088 XEL? The built in Loader either freezes or doesn't recognize any of my CF Cards: SanDisk 512mb or Transend 4gb, but works fine on my Side cart. An already configured Transend 4gb card does boot ok though on the CF-2... -

Not on the ones I received. They may have subbed them? The default way would be go by the length of the leads as the Anode is always longer than the Cathode.
