Which chips are the drive buffers? Those are 7406 Hex Buffers that connect between the 1797 and floppy port, I used 7416's instead.

u53 MC1488 is a RS-232 line driver, opposite of the the MC1489.
Problem with the drives could be a bad Floppy Controller and/or the drive buffer chips like what happened to mine...

I bought 2 810's and the 850 Communicator package at the BX on Anderson AFB Guam in 1983. 810's were $440 back then.
Antic and Analog mags were there every month...

They appear to be missing the cartridge containing the program.
If you look close at the left side, you see glue that held a cover plate over the cartridge port and joystick ports. The original ones covered up the promo-vision cartridge...

Since I only have 800XL computers I need a cable that is long enough from the (upwards oriented) Cartport to the SIOport... on the XE the SIO and Cart ports are next to each other, not so on the XL's (not to mention the 400/800/1200XL)...
Going by this pic, they should be long enough for my needs.

Just ordered these (20 ea) 6 Pin Cables w/6 pin Right Angle connectors: https://www.ebay.com/itm/273522982615
Looks like I'll have 18 to send to 18 lucky people in the U.S. after I receive them for the cost of shipping.

That was the exact reason I suggested checking for shorts between adjacent pins on each socket. Had 2 of those on my XEL build, had to do some upside-down solder extraction to fix those...

Removed chips and tested RN4. Also good. All RN's look to be in the correct orientation. Swapped U1MB, no difference. Noticed L1 seemed to have a chip out of it, so removed from board(assuming this is PAL only?). No change. Tried Star Raiders, black screen no sound, no action. As was noticed above, the characters aren't random when typing, they're control/atascII characters. Like the control key is being pushed. Type the same letter 5x and sometimes it will be the control character, sometimes the alpha. Also noticed that when left on a couple of minutes, the power LED will change from yellow to straight red.
Have you removed all chips and checked for shorts from adjacent pins on each IC Socket?
(1-2, 2-3, 3-4, etc...)

Not just enhanced 850 and Hayes Modem support, but it also includes TNFS Clients support and soon a built-in TNFS Server.
Also in the works is the IRC Chat Client, designing a DLI for multiple windows is currently on the drawing board.
For the TNFS Server, I'm also making a Win32 version with a GUI
The main core will also be used on the ESP-32...
Plus more features in the coming months, any ideas???
Maybe S.A.M too, we'll see...

There is also a 3rd party interface for the Supra Drive, saw it on ebay 2 years ago for $25, but didn't pull the trigger. Doh!
It has a black case. Have a pic of it on my XP PC, but need to replace the PS again first before I can post it...

The 2nd thing I need is some 60/40 Rosin Core Solder .062" to finish my 1088XLD Build

That's ok, I have a black one also. Would you have a spare 1200XL LED Cable (the one from the motherboard to Keyboard / top case) ?

I don't need any flip-in-file cart holders, already have 3, but if you have an Orange Basic XE Cart, that would be nice. That would complete my OSS cart stuff...
