  1. Holy schnikes! I thought 8 hours was the round trip, 20+ hours! I might need to get a hit of acid to complete that, lol

I don't suppose it has a pause feature? (Mine is still sealed so I haven't read the manual yet...

It doesn't have a pause, but we didn't really have space to do anything if you just walk away from it.

  2. The title is no lie folks. We've been really busy (new job, new kid, new everything else) for a while now but we've put together a sweet prize package for this year's Desert Bus for Hope charity drive.

So go on up there and donate the crap out of your wallet, the drive starts Friday. You could end up with this sweet DB2600 prize pack!!!! (shown below)

    Which contains the following:

    1) A sealed boxed copy of Desert Bus 2600

    2) A limited DB 2600 2XL shirt

    3) An autographed cart of DB2600 signed by Penn & Teller in the flesh

    4) A copy of the manual to thumb through (not shown)

  3. Troy,

Thanks for the callout on this and sorry for being MIA. I didn't completely forget and truth be told I had some shipping issues with my international orders and I wanted to sort them out to and give people more time in order to get numbers in. Also, I've been pretty busy trying to line up our followup release and get my home ready for a new child coming in August. I'll get my magic number picker to pick a number next week and announce a winner and get to the shipping.

    Cheers,

    -M

What happened with the guesses and the prize?

    • "As for the pick a number give away. The person who matches a the number we've picked form 1-999 gets an uncut prototype desert bust 2600 box. The same boxes used in our shot. "

  4. Off to the races everyone!

    The Bus has shipped! (Domestically)

I still have a few International copies to ship by this weekend. (customs forms are my nemesis)

That being said, I'll be PM'ing you individually with your tracking info throughout the day.

If you have any questions, issues, etc feel free to PM me directly.

I once again want to thank everyone for their patience as our first release was a bit difficult.

  5. Guys thanks for the enthusiasm. I'm back at home base and and gearing up to start shipping the boxed carts. That being said we submitted loose carts to AVGN and desert bus for hope last year just before the first batch of carts went out. I also hand made the box/DVDs and the manual for the copy of smoke and mirrors they use in the episode. Apparently they couldn't source one and I used it as an opportunity to get db2600 on an episode.

  6. Heh. Nah. The 6502 was a good CPU platform and was the basis for a bunch of game systems. Did your Nintendo ever overheat? These systems generated little in the way of heat compared to consoles today. A simpler system has less points of failure. And the 2600 is pretty bare bones. I imagine it'd take years of consistent run time to kill one. Unless someone here who can chime in with an example. Must of my experience with 2600 failure is with wear items (cords, switches, jacks, etc)

  7. Finally! After months of back and forth!

The ironic thing is the printers claimed to be based in the US but the order came from Germany. Go figure.

At any rate, I was hoping to get everything packed and out by the 20th (I need to go out of town for one of my best friend weddings) but all this week my family and I have been overcoming the flu so I'm expecting things won't ship till the end of the month. At any rate were on the home stretch and I apologize profusely for how long it's taken to get this run produced. I promise for the next release things will be better in sync.

    Thanks for your patience.

  8. Ok so I called Friday and they gave me a tracking # from fed ex because apparently it was picked up Friday. Fedex's tracking system is saying Wednesday they should arrive. I'll post more when/if they arrive and then put together a ship window. Sorry it's been taking so long but I know they're going to turn out great.

  9. Hey Chris, Boxes are done. There was a goof up with the manual printers. I'm told manuals are to be shipped mid next week. Once I have them in hand I'll give my expectations on when everything will ship. I'm guessing last week of April/first week of May.

  10. As an update, I just got an email yesterday from the manual printers having another issue with the design files (not sure why they waited a week after all the back and forth) so I had to resubmit them which is pushing back the timeline. How far I'm not sure as they were supposed to ship tomorrow and I'm waiting for an ok on the resubmitted file. I'll report back when I know more. Thanks everyone for your patience.
