  4. Last day to pre-order. Get em' while the gettin's good.
  5. Just as a heads up, as we've been busy bees the last few weeks. Cart pre-orders ends Saturday at midnight. After that, we're moving onto boxed production. We've updated the pre-order list in this thread. The company that was supposed to produce our t-shirts has been having technical issues and we're waiting on them to get a few testers, We had planned on having a photo shoot to model the shirts but no dice. I'll keep everyone posted when/if that occurs. Production is rolling along nicely and the instructions/box art creation has started: I also wanted to give a shout out up to AA member Godzilla/imagic.com and Team JAX and the Extra Life Children's Charities. You should give them your support http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=49511 Also in other charity news: We're donating 2 production carts and 1 prototype cart to the Desert Bus for Hope organization for auction. We'll post links when we get them, so stay tuned and bid those babies up. http://www.desertbus.org
  6. List has been updated and everyone who's paid has a guess in.
  7. The game is currently NTSC only. Box/manual coming later this year. (still working on content and printing logistics worked out) Guessing is for a special prize for pre-orderers.
  8. List has been updated with pre-orders/guesses. A few of you guys haven't made a guess. swlovinst, you get two guesses. Good start guys and thanks for the orders! Spent a few hours last night cooking ROMS and getting things prepped.
  9. Howdy Folks, I wanted to give everyone a heads up that we're beginning to take pre-orders for DB2600. The following list shows those who have shown interest in our thread and have been contacted, if you're not on the list, but are interested please shoot me a PM and pre-order from our fancy pre-order page: http://preorder.dese...m/index-aa.html and we'll add you to the list. All carts are built to order and will be shipped as the orders are received but please allow 2 weeks after the close of preordering for your cart. Pre-orders will end at midnight Saturday Oct 26th. At that time we will begin shipping and sending out orders and will no longer be taking cart orders. We will then move onto setup for the boxed release. The cart is $30 shipped in the continental US. For international orders please contact me directly here on Atari Age or email [email protected] You can check on your order status by checking back here. That being said we're also doing something special for those who pre-order by adding a bonus gift to whoever guesses or gets closest to the number we're thinking of between 1-1000. You can either add your guess in your PayPal order or post on the thread. You get one guess per cart order, multiple guesses will be ignored. This is an NTSC cart only pre-order. Here's the current pre-order status: Thanks and good luck, -M
  10. The preorder info will be sent out Monday or Tuesday as we work out a few kinks on add in materials this weekend. I'll keep everyone posted when it goes live.
  11. Just as an update. We're starting production on the carts this week so I'll be sending a PM to those on the cart list with a pre-order link and tossing up a pre-order thread this Friday. PM or reply here if you don't see yourself on the list in the above post and stay tuned for more box/instruction updates.
  12. Just got the production PCBs in and boy are they pretty. Each PCB is golden yellow. Went ahead and assembled and tested one production PCB and it works great! After I get a few more of these built up I'll get the cart order thread started.
  13. The boxed copies are still a bit away. Waiting for the shipment of pcbs and initial run of shirts. Once I get them in I'll build out a few dozen carts and begin presale of carts. Once those have shipped well set focus on the boxed versions. I'm estimating late October/mid-Nov but I will know more once we get a few more things in a row from our vendors.
  14. The shirt is optional and the list has been updated
  15. Howdy Ladies and Gents! It's been a hot minute since I've been on (I've been swamped with work) but I wanted to give you all an update. The last of the proto-boards are in and have been built as a final small set of proto-carts (The only difference is the PCB ). Here's a pic of one of the final proto carts. That being said, I have ordered all the parts and I've gotten word that it all has shipped. Hopefully I'll have more info next week when I hopefully get the PCBs in. Once I verify the PCB lot is good I will open up a cart pre-order page for those of you who are interested. Also to clarify, on the 'limitedness' of the game. We've created a limited number of PCBs/labels for this release because we weren't sure what the reception was going to be and it has honestly floored us with all of your enthusiasm, hence us wanting to take it further with the shirts and boxed versions but once we run out of our supplies that's it. We started with carts because we weren't sure if the interest was there for a boxed version and it's more budget conscious for the title. Here's an updated list: If you've requested a shirt, please note that the shirt hasn't been noted on the list and will be an option available once we do pre-orders for the boxed copies. CART 1. Atari2500Lives 2. kennybrooks 3. mkiker2089 4. BadHornet 5. luciferhalo (possible on price) 6. Necron99 7. ataricolltr 8. toymailman 9. swlovinst 10. swlovinst 11. Blitzwing256 12. 16. For some clarification, the videos were taken with the beta build of the game early on in development. The final build has no lines. Also, the beta build had options to skip the various milemarkers in order for demonstration purposes. After that video was taken, we began playtesting and had removed various bugs. The game has been played to completion multiple times on our end to work them all out, including the lines. Thanks for the praise, it's sort of a mixture of both. We love the medium of the 2600 and we went with a hands on approach to do something personal with this game to learn the process. It really is more of a labor of love than anything else really.
  17. Gentleman, there's no need for the commotion. The true challenge of Desert Bus wasn't to make Desert Bus. It was to play it multiple times in real time on real hardware to completion in order to test it for bugs. We appreciate your opinion and realize that our next titles will not be as much a novelty.
  18. 407 miles is the length of each leg of the journey. The journey starts from the center of Tucson Arizona and arrives you McCarran airport in Las Vegas, NV.
  19. They do not, but we're in the process of making contact with the two front men, Penn/Teller in order to get them a copy and get a few copies autographed to be gifted to the annual Desert Bus for a cure foundation to be auctioned off for charity.
  20. Things are rolling along. Waiting for a final proto boards to come in before we have the production boards produced. That being said the timetable and pricing is as follows: The carts are looking to be released mid-late october and we're going to start a cart only pre-order thread here soon in a few weeks. That being said we've devised 3 packages and these are going to be limited to pre-orders on here plus a small number to be sold on our site. We might make a few more carts for a few gaming shows like CGE/MGC as we continue to make releases. Following the cart sales we'll start pre-order for the boxed cart as our release timeline shapes up for that edition. That being said here are the 3 Desert Bus 2600 packages. $30 limited cart only edition (atariage pre-order only) $35 afterwards on our site. $50 limited boxed edition w/manual (atariage pre-order only) $60 afterwards on our site. $70 limited boxed edition + limited t-shirt (atariage pre-order only) $80 afterwards on our site. The shirts are double sided black soft mens tees with the large desert bus 2600 label on the back and a small "Tucson to Las Vegas 407 Miles" graphic on the front left chest. Moving forward please still still specify a "cart" or "boxed" edition, we'll divvy up shirt additions when the boxed copy goes up for pre-sale. Here's our interest list thus far. CART 1. 21. Our game is pretty accurate. We've made a diligence effort in testing the timing and the speed of the vehicle and odometer. It takes about 9 hours to complete one leg of the trip.
  22. Here's an updated box shot. Feel free to PM me if you guys want any additional details as well.
  23. Well responses have been great so far guys.
