Catapult is my current game in progress for the VCSS. As I said in a previous topic, it's the port of the Odyssey 2 game : Stone Slinger.... with a lot of improvements. Here is the first screenshot. The game is in very early stage of development. I hope to complete the program within christmas. http://www.khryssun.cjb.net/Catapult.php [ 11-04-2001: Message edited by: khryssun ]

What's the difference between 2600 and 2600jr?...
khryssun replied to atarigamer's topic in Atari 2600
In France, the 2600 Jr is the only 2600 model to be produced in PAL only, all others where in SECAM. This is due to the later come of multi standard TV market. my 2 cents -

The C64 is good to tinker too. I remember an old friend of mine had buided an EPROM burner for the C64. It's a nice system to program too... but i'm going out of topic

Mitch, that's great !!! So, you'll play your SCART 7800 with a very good screen. I hope this will work. Please let me know if you get one ST monitor and try it. The numbering is different because I do it myself : to define the pineouts, I tested the cable with a multi-meter.

I had both systems and a coleco between the VCS and the C64. Curiously except some games, the coleco wasn't a very interesting machine for me, but C64 was and is always one of my favorites systems. One of the best thing is that great titles were ported both to the VCS and to the C64. as the gameplay is generally the same I prefer the C64 version, due to the graphics improvements. Just thinking to Decathlon, H.E.R.O., Pitfall 1 & 2, Joust, Pac Man, Rampage, Space Shuttle among others. can't remember. Does Keystone keepers was ported to the C64 ? I think yes, but I'm not sure. I can't remember the cause, but there was an incompatibility problem. Maybe it was betacam. I wondering if someone else has got this film ? it will be possible to convert it to mpg2 format.

quote: Originally posted by Moycon The graphics were simple and it was also basically Artillery Duel but you would win money to purchase things like shields and nuke bombs and parachutes...etc...etc.. Will yoy new game be anything like this??? Yep, not exactly this way but a I think about a system of bonus and upgrade : Timed Shields, Massive destructive boulders, Magic Missiles... quote: Originally posted by Joel You going to do the game on the VCS simulator or the Real VCS. At first time I'm looking to complete the VCS Simulator version, but I'm seriously considering to program a lighter VCS version later. quote: Originally posted by Joel Last night I figured out how to make the Bat invisible on Adventure. So now the bat has become a poltergeist.. It should work out well in my undead Adventure. :-) hehe. I'm looking forward to play your game About my "suspended" version, regarding the bestiary, personnaly I had some problems with my dragons sprites.

As I said in a previous post, I've stopped the development of At-a-Venture (Adventure 2)for the VCS Simulator. The 5200 Adventure 2 project seems to be more advanced than mine... so I decided to suspend it for now. The good news : I'm workink at a new project that was spinning round in my head for some monthes. It's a port of an odyssey 2 game : Catapult with a lot of improvements. The game should be ready for christmas (I hope).

I take advantage of the situation to ask if someone has a good link to Adam disk/roms files ?

Thanks scott Jack, just after I finished ewoks, I though to port Pink Panther to the VCS simulator. I was in touch with a guy who had a Pink Panther game session recorded on a video tape. Unfortunatly the tape was in a NTSC format and I can read only VHS tapes on my video reader/recorder... so I closed the project. I don't remember who was this guy... maybe it was Tim Duarte... i can't remember.

exact scott, I used the following informations to create the game : http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Lair/.../9260/ewok.html. It's not in my habit to make self-congrats, but... this time I can say : I made a good job.

quote: Originally posted by Alex Yes, we're definitely thinking of scheduled chats defined by cron-jobs as opposed to a perpetual chat room. I'm not terribly experienced with chat though, what types of features would people prefer? Multiple rooms? Private rooms? Preferred times? I agree with the idea of a limited time perid chat. I think Multiple rooms are required to avoid confusion. About the time, please make it accessible to France. I don't think I'll chat at 4:00 AM.
