  1. Mitch,

The image of the 7800 is quite neat, without any echo of the graphic elements.

But the colors are less shiny as the 2600.

Most of the 2600 carts have tried are working very well with the original colors

(The secam VCS has only a 8 colors palette).

Strange thing : the Space Invaders colors are so dark it's almost impossible to play.

I noticed this effect only with 2-3 games among 50 tested cartridges.

Good surprise : Some NTSC carts were only displayed in B&W using my VCS 2600.... Now they are in colors with the 7800

How much do you want to spend ?

These 7800 models are expensive in France : I paid mine $36.

And we've got to add the shipping price to the U.S. too.

I'am totally agree with you. I think you just pointed the main reason of this subjective question.

  3. Whaoooo !

In the last 6 days, I've received 42 VCS 2600 game cartridges and 1 Atari 7800 console (SECAM SCART Model).

Maybe, some of the fellows here are familiar with such events, but it's the first time for me I receive so much Atari stuff in so few time !

If someone have told me when I was a child that one day I'll get 42 games in a week, I'd said he was crazy. lol

Sometimes reality is better than dreams

  4. When the colecovision was released, I sold my VCS to buy one. I found the graphics more attractive and I was very excited to have a Donkey Kong game almost like the arcade at home....

but I had been disappointed. The games were good, but as Mister VCS says,I found the CV games weren't as magic as the VCS ones to play.

I bought a new VCS some years later

  5. Great new Tempest !!!

Sorry the first dumps weren't the good ones. Anyway, thanks for your efforts !!!

I think, it's very kind of you to release the proto

    We will be patient.

Ooooops, I forgot our canadian friends

Yes, this cart may be a Canadian cart too.

anyway, the fact the label is in French/English isn't significant about Canada as the labels' carts sold in France were in French/English too (e.g. Decathlon)...

I think the only reason of the french text on the label is for import.

So, the cart should be PAL as only PAL carts were sold in France.

  8. I know the NTSC version of Xenophobe is an extremly rare cartridge, but what about the PAL version ?

Does someone know if the production of the european version was more important than the US one?

I'd love to get one of those 7800's. Do you have one for trade?

    No, Sorry.

I haven't one for me for now.

I'm hunting for one at some local auction site.

Sure, any opinion is as good as many other.

By respect I mean to accept that other people may have a different opinion and to be okay with that.

So, even if there's no issue things are easiest to live with that point of view.

But I understand that you may have another opinion than mine
