2716 2k 2732 4k 2732 * 2 8k 2764 8k 8k (and above) cartridges use extra chip for bankswitching. On the Atari chips, the chip select line is active high, so you'll have to use a 74LS04 inverter with Eproms. hope this help

Albert, You makes me think to an alternative : Just print the label on strong paper then use a adhesive plastic film.
-
Personnally, my preference goes to the Picture label : first picture edition with very nice artwork and various colors for the titles.... GREAT I like the silver labels too. But I definitelly don't like the red (brown) label edition.

Albert, quote Me too It's funny and impressive. BTW : Have you received my email about the joy adaptor / cart list ?

Back in the Day, what was your first Non-combat game.
khryssun replied to Joel D. Park's topic in Atari 2600
For me, It was Haunted House... The first "adventure" game I ever played. (thanks mom ) Then I had E.T. Adventure Raiders of the lost ark Swordquest earthworld -
I agree with Joel. Hardware reason: Comparing the keypad / joystick electric schematics, I don't think it's possible to substitute the keypad for a joystick (for a program that use a joystick) Software reason : The keypad support needs to have a specific programming.

My most wanted VCS game in my childhood was.... oooh so long... I forgot I had 3 most wanted games : Star Wars : the Empire Srikes Back / Yars' Revenge / Star Raiders [ 06-25-2001: Message edited by: khryssun ]

quote: The game does exist, I knew what it was at the time but can't think of it now. Maybe I'm wrong, but some times ago I was searching infos about that game and I found a web page dedicated to "BIG" where they said the "game" wasn't a commercial game. It was programmed for the movie only. Not a complete game in fact.

Hero, quote Megahertz ? are you sure ? In fact, the atari 2600 paddles potentiometers are 1 Mega ohm.

I noticed a difference regarding the number of game variations for Warlords in Atari Catalogs. In 2 catalogues it's said 23 games variations and 28 in 2 others ? Was there 2 differents editions for Warlords ?

Funny article, but the author want to analyse a situation with a wrong point of view (at my opinion). Why searching the reasons into external causes ? Anyway, he says it was impossible to beat the games... and what about Adventure, E.T., Haunted House, Superman, Raiders Of The Lost Ark... ? Few games indeed, but damn he was free to choose the games he was playing with. Beat it's own highscore, that's also a goal -- No more frustrations Let's create our own goals insteed of wainting only for the computer congratulations Nobody's fault but mine - Led zeppelin

I don't remember who asked about schematics to build an Eprom programmer, but I found a nice "How to build your own Eprom Burner" project here : http://home.quicknet.com.au/andrewm/eprom1/index.html For Eproms 2764, 27128, 27256 and 27512. Very complete with PCB, Software... The author plans to upgrade the software to support EEproms in the future. Hope this help... to build your own atari carts

Recently, I asked the opposite question. (Thanks matthias fot the answer) In the meanwhile, I also found some infos about systems/carts compatibility at : http://www.gyruss.demon.co.uk/ccnuk/compat.html quote That's a good question... Someone is sure of that ? Regarding the Stella manual, The SECAM console is a little bit different (for color conversion table, as the games are only displayed in 8 colors). Is there a way to convert a Secam VCS into PAL ?
-
Thanks for the infos Matthias.
-
Hi all, Are the NTSC cartridges work fine with PAL systems ? Seems to me I had read somewere that some game's screens were rolling. Someone may confirm ? Does a kind of "compatibility list" exists ? Thanks

My favorite models are : 1 - 6 switch model 2 - 4 switch model 3 - Darth Vader model I never owned the 6 switch model but I always thought it's design was really great. I don't like the Atari Jr look at all. Never thought before, but regarding my toplist, I realize Atari would never have changed the design of the original model.
-
I agree with Matthias. The board was soiled... Looks better now Thanx
-
Ken, don't you want to include an original game as bonus ? In the spirit of these old good Atari games ? What do you think of Yar's Quest ? Lot of Atari fans send me enthusiastic emails about it and asked me for a new game (Thanks to you guys.... and be patient). Damn I've got to rename the game et change some graphics, they are copyrighted by Telegames.... http://khryssun.cjb.net/
