Never too late... While searching some pics to scan (for the contest) in old videogames magazines, I found some infos about the video standards used for the VCS 2600 cartriges. "Carts were produced in NTSC or PAL/SECAM. Some carts were especially produced in SECAM : the PAL version wasn't work in Europe (Cross Force / China Syndrome). Tip : The cart apt to work (in europe) are the ones that don't use the B&W/Color switch. The US Carts are incompatibles with Europe systems : It is more a reason of lines (525-625) than a problem of coding colours." I suppose that the opposite is also true Hope this may help

The link to the PCAE page is out of date (2600 > Emulation > Emulators > PC Atari. The page linked is about version 2.2. Here is the link to John Duella PCAE Page with the lastest version of the emulator (2.5) : http://www.geocities.com/dwarfaxe/pcae/index.html

> Tempest Yes, it's a multicart selector (up to 8 games). at least 2 models exist : one for the VCS 2600 and one for the intellivision.

Answers to Scott : - The screenshot with 2 Qotiles has been taken from the Beta version. I've removed the Qotiles in the final version. - I havent a lot of informations about the rights of the 2600 library. All that I know is that Telegames inc send me an email telling me that Yars Revenge is copyrighted and that I haven't to use the YAR name or graphics... for any commercial purpose. I've found on their web page http://www.telegames.com/publishing.htm that they've published Yar's Revenge for the Gameboy. So logically, they must be the rights owners. Answer to Wntermute : VCSS isn't not an emulator, I's a dev platform designed to produce VCS like games. Technically, it doesn't require a lot of CPU ressources (it is almost completely made in asm). Just wondering about the video mode cause i've used a non standard video mode. Let me know if it works with Virtual PC... I'll post the info on my Web Page. thanx

hi matthias, here are the answers to your questions : 1 - is this like the Prototype, or is this your own work? I've programmed this game using all the descriptions and screenshots I've found around the net about the original prototype. I tried to be as close as possible to the original game. Personnaly I found that the controlling procedure is not easy to use but I've programmed it as it was described (my objective was to make this ureleased game available for everyone just like if the rom was dumped). 2 - what must I do after the screen not scroll anymore? Take control of a Speeder Bike to destroy the shield generator (more infos about that in the doc included in the zip file ). 3 - Is there a level 2 ... ? Yep there are levels 2, 3, 4,... The game just become harder. regards
