  1. That was some good shit. What kind of hacker, hacks into someones xbox in order to call 911 and report a fake hostage scenario. Got to give the hacker props for thinking of that. I mean why search the network for useful information when you can bring the swat team down on them =). The location they got was probably like a starbucks or something... nothing useful. ... but seriously, who hacks someone with this intent?... I may be sick for saying this, but thats comedy Pure gold. Especially if its like your neighbor or something. Just hack someone else's network from like Japan, and go through that network first, just to avoid getting caught... and then you get the funniest show ever, just dont forget to hack someones youtube to post it on the internetz!
  2. Ok, that soothes some of my concerns. Thanks for the info. Worms, I love those games so much. I even enjoyed them when they went into the 3d world. Worms Forts and Worms 3D for the xbox were super fun. The XBLA verions are super fun as well. Just an amazing title. Though, if you download it on steam there are some other games you might want to pick up for free. First being Team Fortress 2. Second being Peggle extreme. Both are free, and both are great. This is assuming that you dont have them already. New topic. EA pulled all their games from Steam recently... and purchased PopCap. I really hate what EA has become. Starting the code in games, ruining second hand owners, to this? EA is on a terrible roll.
  3. They do this because game companies like Gamestop are making money selling used, when the want more money. I really wish gamestop would refuse to sell the companies games that do that code thing. I mean, if they dont soon, this will be the future, and that future will be gamestopless. Either way, I refuse to buy a game that does that, and its sad to see that sony has begun this too... I really hope it ends.
  4. I really enjoy the website. Though this comment will likely be lost, seeing as you havent been on atariage for over 2 years...

... but in the fat chance that you do get on. Thank you very much for the help your website has given me. That data has not just gone to waste.

  5. Im not a fan of Bethesda. It kind of sucks that 'id' got bought, making these companies sister companies. In my opinion, im really thankful that Bethesda is just publishing the game, making them not have anything to do with the actual game. Skyrim just looks like crap to me, I still regret the purchase of Elder Scrolls Oblivion... I really enjoyed Doom 3. How the environment was manipulated was something I had never seen before. When they triggered ceiling collapse, taking out the lights, while monsters pop out of the stairs was truly something special for a horror game. It was much different to the geomod stuff that the red factions gave us. I really did love Doom 3, though I disliked having to look behind everything for some ammo. Though Quake 4 was kind of a let down. It didnt feel like anything special. Driving vehicles in that game was beyond terrible. It just didnt seem like it was loved like the previous quakes. Main point to this post. Bethesda really has nothing to do with this game, id gives them the final game, they figure out how to produce it and get it in stores... and get all their brink users accounts hacked (fun fact, brink used the same engine as doom 3 [id tech 4]). Does it come out on your birthday?
  6. I wasnt trying to insult you, I simply meant my controller is gimmicky when trying to movie. Its not that I dont like the design of the controller. I just dont like how it doesnt seem to listen to me. Though most the time its actually the trigger that leaves me ruined. You wouldnt believe how many lives have been lost because the controller didnt want to jump the barrel. Though the knob would be nice. I would prefer to keep my 2 colecovision controllers alone. Id just kind of prefer to keep the system untampered. Now if I had a 3rd controller, Id be all over. Though sadly I dont. Ill keep it in mind though, in case i come across another one. ---------EDIT--------------------------------------------------- Ive been looking at this colecovision layout, and I was wondering if anyone has done this themselves... and if so, do they have a sample image (of the completed project) they could spare, that I could try to use as a reference?
  7. ... but the gemini controller is so smooth, how could I ever try to top my mr do score without it?
  8. Though would ball knobs really fix the gimmicky controller?
  9. Link to someone whose done it So... I personally love the colecovision system. The only problem is my controllers are terrible, making it almost not even worth playing. I saw this video awhile ago, were he uses the original colecovision controller chip, and uses it in the jaguar controller, hooking up all the number pad buttons and everything. In the video he mentioned seeing someone else on these forums doing the same thing. Making it seem like a more common practice. The only problem I have, is I only have 2 colecovision controllers, so I figured id open up a super action controller (I have 3), and see if it had a similar chip I could try in work with... also the super action controller has a nicer cord. One main difference I noticed was the joystick. The joystick has 8 contact points (up, down, left, right, and the diagonals), as opposed to the colecovisions and I believe jaguar. The Super Action controller was wired pretty bizarrely, using a chip for the 4 buttons, a chip for the analog stick, and another chip for the number pad. Also, this controller uses an 8 wire setup, I believe the original colecovision controller is only 7 wires. So... I cleaned the contacts and put it all back together. I dont really know what im doing though, in all honesty, im really not that good at this kind of stuff. I really want a good colecovision controller with a working number. Mr Do, Gorf, and Donkey Kong just arent the same with a fussy controller. =( Do you think it can be done... moderately easily? EDIT: is there a moderately easy way to mod a genesis controller to be able to have one button work as the number 1 button? or make the top row on a 6 button controller, 123? I FOUND THIS IMAGE... so obviously it can be done. Though that man has done a lot of crazy stuff, that im sure i wouldnt be able to do. (http://nfggames.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3321.0)
  10. Its all that silly kinect voice stuff they are putting in there. I mean Endwar used that same voice stuff, and it just used the microphone. It annoys me how microsoft is acting like this mic stuff is new to the kinect. Either way the mass effect games have never appealed to me...
  11. Alright, ill have to try that with one of the genesis controller I have in the mail. I assumed that it was recieving some kind of voltage or something, that the other controllers dont get, screwing everything up... but I dont know too much =). Thanks for the help!
  12. Its supposed to look the same for all game. John Carmack originally bashed the PS3 stating how hard it is to get the complete power out of it, seeing as it didnt have parallel processor... Though the 360 version is likely to have to be deliviered in 3 discs(kind of like LA Noire), they are looking at around 20gb of data... Which all that data wouldnt be bad, if they just let me download a lot of it to my harddrive, and stream continuously... though, LA Noire didnt let you do this, making you switch discs, no matter if you had the files on your harddrive or not. The ID tech 5 engine actually can debug (I hope im using the write word) the ps3, 360, and computer files for all systems at once. Which I think is quite cool.
  13. They charge full price, because those are the games that sell. They remain in demand. All those grandmas and infants want the Nintendo made games featuring mario, and seeing as they are selling. Then good for them. The problem is the 3rd party games dont sell, so price cuts up all over the price. Im sure people on these forums under stand good games, and are willing the buy those 3rd party games. Yet most the children and grandmas dont, that huge population that nintendo has brought into the market, dont buy many 3rd party games...
  14. Yeah, im super pumped about the environments. The level design just looks beyond amazing. Though it does seem silly for this game not to have some kind of death match... I mean 'id' is known to have really created that kind of game play. They didnt want to through some half-assed death match game play out amongst other shooters like call of duty. Making theirs seem like shit. Stating that they want to try and take them on when they arent trying to worry as much about a great campaign and amazing experience...
  15. I have a boxed 'rampage' 7800 game. Im not sure if id really want to get rid of it though. It does have my vote for the worst looking cartridge ever. Terrible looking white-gray label, with blue lettering. (ps. I took the manual out to look at it, now I cant figure out how to get it back in. XD)
  16. Does anyone else feel like nintendo doesnt care enough about their 3rd party developers? At my local walmart, the xbox 360 has 3 big spots(im drawing a blank for what to call them) for games, and the wii only has 2. Yet the wii has sold much more than double the amount of console than the 360. When you think about games on the wii, or nintendo systems in general. They are always games made by nintendo. It would seem that the only games that actually seem to sell well on nintendos systems are first party games. If you reverse the roll, and think about games for the 360, you think of Halo, Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, Fable, Bioshock, Fallout, Borderlands, Red Dead, Madden... ect. Games from ubisoft, irrational, bungie, activision, bethsda, rockstar, lionhead, ea, ect... I mean, game companies are doing very poorly. Some companies I really enjoyed have gone under (rip pandemic). Worst of all though! Its become the attack of the sequels. Its very rare for a company to release a new ip now-a-days. They are forced to stick with something that they no they will make money on. *cough* call of duty 7 *cough*. This is truly just killing the creativity of great games, that will just remain ideas. Now, I know the cost to produce a game has skyrocketed in this hd era... but does anyone else feel like nintendo has some blame on their hands? Nintendo has always thought about consumers before the game companies, ever since the NES, they have negatively hurt game companies (only allowing the companies to produce a set number of games a year, determined by nintendo). I mean, they are bringing a lot of people into the market, from grandmas to infants, everyone has a wii... but those people arent buying games. They have a wii, they have about 4 games for it, and all those games are made by nintendo. I just feel nintendo should fess up to the fact t good system is its games, and should reach out to those 3rd party companies to really try to make something special. I have a feeling the the Wii U will have a hard time, due to the fact that few 3rd party companies will NOT want to invest into making something thats actually quality for it... and without quality games, people wont make the switch from the wii to the wii u. They will release, that the wii wasnt really all it was cracked up to be, and not buy into the tablet gimmick. In order to get a lot of initial sales, they need to let these 3rd parties sail with them. If not, the release will be a flop, the companies will see this, pull any game they even considered making, and nintendo will be forced to make lots of 1st party titles to fill the void, and make their consumer not feel like complete rejects, with a last ditch effort to save the system... *cough* 3DS *cough* Nintendo: Their boats are strong, but their booty is weak. I miss the original xbox, gamecube, and ps2 era. Those were the days. Btw, I really dont like nintendo as a company, so im sure a lot of what I just wrote is bias... The other problem is price gauging in my opinion. Most third party games that are on the Wii drop there price after a few months, red Steel 2 and sonic colors are know 20 and 30 dollars respectfully while games like new Mario bros and Smash bros brawl are still going for 50 dollars a pop which makes third party games look worse to customers since there prices always drop so quickly which means third parties also make less money while Nintendo continues to charge top dollar for games that are at least a year or two old which means people that buy Nintendo games have even less money to buy third party games leading to third party's again losing money. That's why I will buy third party games new but never buy Nintendo games new always used. Lol, anything with the name 'mario' in it holds its value. Yeah, Though I must admit. I am hating this new thing that EA games, along with games published by Sony are doing. With the code that they give you with the game that can only be used once. Trying to eliminate 2nd hand distributing. Completely trying to control the market. If I pay $60s on a brand new game, I want it to be mine, to do with what I want. If I dislike the game, and want to trade it in, thats my choice. They are making games lose all there value once purchased. Which I dont think it right to the consumer, nor the resellers(gamestop). I wish Gamestop would stand strong and not sell the games that do this. Sony shouldnt have the right to ruin a company that has given their system so many sale, and has made them so much money. I dont think its right for them to control the market. If the game good, it will stay in demand, and maintain a high price point. If its not, then it wont. They shouldnt control that (when it so heavily negatively impacts the consumer and distributor), the market should. I personally refuse to buy any games that do that. I understand giving the first consumer a bonus. Like a gun or something, but to completely restrict online play is ridiculous. It really pisses me off!
  17. I trust in the same two companies. I believe Valve did an article about Portal 2 in Game Informer, and they talked about how they refuse to add "filler" to make the game longer, or any general half assed tactics when making games. Both companies get the Koala seal of approval. And yes, I'll be getting Rage on release date as well. Portal 2 gets my award for best dialect in any game... ever. The only problem with valve is they have too many good things going for them. Id love a new counter strike, half life, or even another team fortress... and it doesnt ever seem like make a new one.
  18. Im sure it just wasnt worth it keeping all the networks up for those games. Either way, if you played halo 2 a month before it got cut down, they hooked you up with lots of stuff, like free ms points, and 3 months of free live. It was a nice surprise. =D Halo 2 in my eyes was the best halo. They physics, the hit mechanics, the overall feel of the game, could not be beat!
  19. The sad thing is this game has been in the making since before both fallout 3, and borderlands. Which everyone seems to claim that this is a copy of... ... but im sure those other games didnt run on 60 fps, or look nearly that good. XD 'id' and 'valve' are the only game companies that I will buy, based on the name alone.
  20. When I plus in my 3 button genesis controller into the colecovision, trying to play 'mr. do', I am unable to use the number pad on the 2nd controller to start the game. Though, if I have the genesis controller unplugged, with nothing else being plugged into player 1. I am able to use the 2nd controllers number pad to start up the game. If the game is started I can use the genesis controller, perfectly fine. Forcing me to unplug it and plug it back in, every time I use controller (which is a huge pain). Yet, on the other hand. I can have my coleco gemini controller plugged in, and use the 2 controllers number pad still. Why does it allow you to use the second controllers number pad, with the gemini controller and not the genesis controller. Shouldnt the console be recieving the same stand by input from both controllers? Is there a way to detach a certain wire or something from the genesis controller, to allow you to use the second controllers number pad? Thanks for the help.
  21. I truly cant wait for this game. It sucks it got pushed back to October. Nothing satisfies quite like 'id'. DOOM 4 should come out next year too! Using that same beautiful engine!

  23. K, ill be sure to do that... and yeah, the 5 of the 9 pins would be a bummer. I got some 6 button genesis controllers on the way too (2 controllers for $3.89)... but yeah, it would be a shame if i shorted out my gemini trying mess with these. I have 3 though, so ill just test my stuff on the console with the worst screen resolution. =P Thanks for the heads up though!
  24. Does the colecovision expansion module #1 count as a clone?
